Bobbi Brown Pink Tulle High Shimmer Lipgloss Review, Photos, Swatches
Bobbi Brown Pink Tulle High Shimmer Lipgloss
Surround Me in Pink Tulle
Bobbi Brown Pink Tulle High Shimmer Lipgloss ($23.00 for 0.24 fl. oz.) is described as a “hot pink with pearl.” it’s a translucent light-medium pink with lots of silver sparkle. On my lips, it enhances the natural pink coloring found in my lips and gives them a truer pink look (less washed out, since my natural lip color is rather corpse-like). If you have more pigmented lips, it’s going to resemble clear gloss with a truckload of sparkle. MAC Floating Lotus is lighter and has finer shimmer. MAC Sweet Bean has finer shimmer. Bobbi Brown Pastel is much lighter, milkier. MAC Sueprglass has flaky shimmer instead.
Having a gloss like this in your stash is worthwhile, but it’s not necessarily a shade you need to have several versions of, because a lot of those differences get lost on the lips. Â I’ve been reaching for this gloss often when I need something to wear for blush photos or in a video and don’t have a light enough lip color that might work, because a lot of the fall eye products have been pretty dark (as have the lip products; neither is a surprise). Super shiny, glossy enough to give lips a fuller look, and gorgeous sparkle that shimmers and dazzles. Â It’s semi-sheer to semi-opaque but there’s an obvious translucency, as the natural lip color most definitely will come through, but there’s a lot of sparkle–so the more light that catches the shimmer, the more opaque it looks (see the difference between the flash and studio lit photos).
Bobbi Brown’s High Shimmer Lipgloss is a staple product for me.  If you forced me to commit to a single gloss formula, I’d go here. I can say that without hesitation, and I really can’t do that with most products.  I will equivocate and hum and haw and tell you it depends on the shade or occasion or the like, because it’s usually true, and it’s hard to pick one favorite and commit to it.  This formula is high-shine, non-sticky, comfortable and hydrating to wear, wears well, and has shimmer that really wows. It never feels gritty, and Pink Tulle, despite its subtle color, lasts a solid four hours on me.  Bobbi Brown’s glosses are mint-scented and come with a doe-foot applicator. Bonus: also includes more gloss than the average one does.

thanks for the review. i haven’t yet found the perfect lip gloss formula for me but i might give bb a try. love the glittery shade, too.
No problem! 🙂 I love that it’s so sparkly but not gritty and the glitter doesn’t travel!
Side note – that blush looks lovely on you, Christine! I really like it. As for the gloss – I like this, but I’m not sure I need it. But I’m not sure I have a sheer shimmery gloss quite like it, so maybe I’ll pick it up 🙂
It’s one of those kinds of colors you don’t really… need… since it’s not exactly difficult to find. For me, the shimmer is what makes the formula sing in general, so I’d opt for this over a lot of others. But if you already had 5 like it, yeah, totally skippable! Now, if you don’t… 🙂
Every time I put one of these glosses on, I’m like, “OOOH, OOH. AHH! SPARKLY!” I continue to be impressed by it, which is surprising (but good).
It is a good thing! I keep one of my Glossimers in my purse for when I need a quick lip gloss and it always makes me smile at the shimmer, but the Bobbi Brown is shimmerier (is that a word?) so I may switch. I see a trip to Sephora in my future 🙂
So I went to the mall tonight and walked out with this one and Beach. I talked to the SA about Beach or Bronzed Heather and she recommended Beach due to my coloring. You’re such a bad influence! 😛
LOL! Eventually, you’ll collect them all 😉
I have four so far and want more, so…yeah, I probably will 🙂
This type of shade virtually disappears on me with the exception of the sparkles. I finally sprang for one of these Bobbi Brown glosses and nabbed Firefly which I really loved from your review and finally caved!
Have you received it yet? I hope you love it!
This looks warm in the tube, but cool when swatched and on the lips. It’s kind of strange.
My lips are pretty cool-toned since they’re kind of gray/purple.
Is the smell strong? I love the way it looks, but I hate mint with a passion so I’m wondering whether I should get it.
I don’t find it too strong, but if you *hate* mint, you might want to smell it in person.
Perfect name for this lipgloss! Why am I drawn to products that are totally NOT my style? It’s so pretty and shiny.
This is so gorgeous on you, and I LOVE shimmer. I’ve decided to make it a point to play up my lips a bit more when going out because I always feel weird and out of place when wearing lip products, but I love it on everyone else. I want to love it on me, too!
I just looked up your swatches of Urban Decay Super Saturated High Gloss Lip Color in Love Child, and I was wondering if you think it would be possible to layer this gloss on top of Love Child? Or is Love Child perhaps more gloss-like than lipstick-like? I think those shades would complement each other really well. Thank you for all your hard work – we all truly appreciate it!
You could totally layer it over Love Child – Love Child is a hybrid formula, feels more like a lipstick overall but has the shine of a gloss and more of the texture of a gloss in some ways. Either way, you can definitely layer!
Great! Thanks a lot, Christine. I will definitely be putting that combo on my list 😀
cute
I am not a gloss person. I feel one gloss is more than enough to do what it does, and I just cannot carry the feel it gives, makes me a little uncomfortable. I love lipsticks and I have an insane amount of them. But,lately, your reviews on BB Lip glosses has made me to atleast try one, and also a reason to visit Nordstrom ! Thanks for your efforts!
You know, I just bought three of these the other night (Hot, Citrus and Plum Gold) because you’ve raved about the formula. I have to say, I feel just like you do! These are awesome, fun, gorgeous and even moisturize my lips. They have enough color to be interesting, and yet – like you mentioned here – you don’t need a ton of different shades to match pretty much any makeup/clothing look. So I’m keeping these in my purse, and that way I’ve always for something that’ll match.
Thanks for introducing me to these! 🙂
So happy someone else loves these as much as I do! 🙂
Scream! It looks fab!
So pretty! I have to get this
Pretty! I thought it was just okay at first, but then I saw the lip swatches where the light hits the glitter and it’s pretty gorgeous. And I LOVE that blush shade you paired with it!!
If you love these you should try some RMK or Lunasol glosses!! They’re so shimmery and so smooth and makes my lips look soooooooo juicy!!
Here I am again, being all picky and critizing 😉 I don’t like it, it’s too glittery.
I am a sucker for pink lipglosses and this one looks gorgeous! Love the blush and lipgloss combo- you look so fresh and pretty! Definitely adding this to my products to try list 🙂
I love this formula and this shade – it’s one of my staples. I also love Bellini.
I think I need this!! It’s such a sweet colour!
Not sure I want to shell out $42AUD for it though!
Is this different enough from the Firefly High Shimmer Lipgloss that I can justify buying both? 😛
This one is subtler in a way – a more toned-down, less-shimmery kind of gloss (one of the lesser shimmery High Shimmers).
I forgot I asked this! Thank you!
