Bobbi Brown Buff & Blue Raspberry Crushed Lip Colors Reviews & Swatches

Bobbi Brown Buff Crushed Lip Color

Buff

Bobbi Brown Buff Crushed Lip Color ($29.00 for 0.11 oz.) is a soft, peachy coral with warmer undertones and a natural sheen. It had medium, buildable color coverage that did not apply as evenly as anticipated on my lips. I also had issues with the product settling into my deeper lip lines, which emphasized the texture of my lips overall.

The texture was lightweight, thin, and had light slip while it had a firmer feel when being applied. It lasted for three hours and felt lightly moisturizing while worn.

Formula Overview

$29.00/0.11 oz. - $263.64 Per Ounce

The formula is supposed to have "high color payoff" with a "blotted-down stain effect" that "glides on comfortably" and keeps lips "hydrated." It's also supposed to be long-wearing and is buildable from "blotted-down" in one layer to "intense color payoff" in two to three layers. The majority of the shades in the range have medium to semi-opaque coverage in one layer, and they were buildable from there with two to three layers. A few shades applied less evenly than others, though most went on well enough.

The consistency was more like a firmer, harder balm, as it glided easily across my lips, but it didn't feel wet, emollient, or oily, more waxy like a traditional lipstick but very lightweight. Some shades pulled into my lip lines and a few emphasized my natural lip texture, while others were more smoothing and flattering in finish/texture. The wear typically lasted between three and six hours with some of the richer/darker shades leaving subtle stains behind. The formula was more non-drying to lightly hydrating, but it wasn't hydrating enough that I'd put it in that category (hydrating lipstick). They had a faint, lemon-meets-wax scent that sometimes wasn't noticeable at all (depended on the shade).

All swatches are with two layers.

Bobbi Brown Blue Raspberry Crushed Lip Color

Blue Raspberry

Bobbi Brown Blue Raspberry Crushed Lip Color ($29.00 for 0.11 oz.) is a muted, light-medium coral with moderate, warm undertones and a natural finish. It had semi-sheer to medium, buildable pigmentation with a lightweight, thin consistency that felt moderately firm in the tube, but felt more emollient once on my lips. It stayed on nicely for three and a half hours and felt lightly hydrating over time.

I was about to add the same thought about blue raspberry = coral 🤭 I couldn’t click fast enough when I saw “blue raspberry “ only to find coral 👀

I have to disagree with your color description here. On me, Blue Raspberry is definitely a light, blue toned pink. I’ve gone through several tubes of this color in the old Creamy color formula. Maybe skin tone is making the difference? I’m a very light, neutral to cool pink toned (Nars Finland TM)

Christine Avatar

Are you referring to this shade in this formula or basing it off of your experience with another formula? It’s possible the shade isn’t the same. The color in the tube is warm pink, so definitely not blue-based at all to my eye, whether in the tube or on!

I just got this lipstick in this formula two days ago. Mine is definitely not coral, it is pink with a slight blue undertone. But I’d say it’s consistent with the shade from the previous formula.
