The Sultry Season: Bobbi Brown Blackberry Lipstick

Bobbi Brown Blackberry Lipstick ($22.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a deep red-brown with opaque color coverage and a glossy, cream finish. It’s a nice way to go brown without going full-on chocolate, and it’s also a way to go red on a much deeper, less in-your-face kind of way.

my thoughts on the formula: Bobbi Brown’s Lip Colors are scent- and taste-free. With a vibrant shade like this, I easily get four hours of wear, but it usually extends to five or six. Many of the shades from the Lip Color range are incredibly rich in pigmentation–lots of creamy, opaque shades to go around.

final thoughts: This is a suitable shade for both cool and warm skin tones, and it should look lovely on light to dark complexions, too. Pair it with neutrals to let the lips be the star!

love it christine, looks great on you. I’d try it with Fresh twilight primer, EL doublewear foundation, a nude matte shadow/paint pot to even the lids, UD binge liner, mascara, lipliner, the lipstick & maybe a touch of gloss, so all you see is the eyes & lips that pop against the luminous skin.

Must be fun to be a MUA always creating new looks & combining new colors and effects.

Hey, this is my fave red for all time! I love this more than MAC Dubonnet/NARS Cruella. For reference, I’m NC37 w/ golden-olive undertones.

FYI, Revlon has dupe of this color with the exact same name, Blackberry, in their Super Lustrous line. BUT, Revlon is extremely drying on me 🙁

ty adelita. I’ll have to check that out. I’m lucky enough to have good luck w revlon lipsticks and the drugstore often has extrabuck offers that bring a revlon or l’oreal lipstick or mascara down to $1-3 so I’ll know something worth grabbing. won’t be as good but I can get the BB when I’m recovered from xmas gift buying lol

How is it that you can successfully pull off 99.9% of the lip (and eye) colors you try? Be it dark or light, sheer or matte, cool or warm, you just manage to look beautiful! Do the makeup gods just like you better than the average person?

This looks exactly like “Chocolate Delight” from Debby. Colour, formula, everything. I love it! Nice to know there’s a dupe for when mine run out since I got it Italy and don’t think that it’s a well known brand at all. (I can’t find info about it anywhere.) Thanks!

love it, being a dark lippy lover…but would skip this and get NYX’s black cherry instead at a color and quality (if not better) similar to BB’s at a fraction of the its cost.

I generally do the same myself except I tend to look for revlon because I find their formula has good wear, minimal color change/fade/migration, doesn’t have a negative taste or scent, doesn’t feel to heavy on the lips, and doesn’t transfer too much. that said, in this case I do think you can see an improvement in creaminess & texture reflective of the quality/price. (budget permitting) I’d say it’s worth the money.
