Bite Beauty Virgo Amuse Bouche Lipstick Review & Swatches
Virgo
Bite Beauty Virgo Amuse Bouche Lipstick ($26.00 for 0.15 oz.) is a medium-dark red with cool, pinkish undertones and a subtle, muted quality to the color that seemed true to the brand’s description of “grapey-red.” The consistency was smooth, lightly creamy, and dense with a touch of tackiness, which helped it apply evenly without sliding around while worn. It had opaque pigmentation that lasted well for over six hours, and it was moisturizing while worn.

Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Lipstick ($26.00 for 0.15 oz.) is supposed to have “bold, creamy color” with “extreme moisture, soft texture, and creamy wear.” The majority of the range is very pigmented–typically opaque with one pass–with a few shades being semi-opaque but usually buildable.
The consistency is very lightly creamy to lightly creamy with some shades requiring light-medium pressure and can pull the lip a bit when gliding it across the lips, though the color doesn’t appear ragged and the bullet itself doesn’t feel stiff (while other shades applied without tugging, so check individual shade reviews!) The majority of the shades I’ve tested have been lightly hydrating to non-drying and fairly comfortable to wear for the long-haul. They have a herbal, lemony scent but no discernible taste. They wear longer than average, from four to eight hours, depending on the intensity and propensity of the shade to stain.

I’m a Scorpio; but, I had to get it. No regrets.
It’s gorgeous!
And it looks amazing on you, too, Christine. 🙂
Yay! I’m so happy this got an A+. I just got this lipstick the other day and it is to-die-for! I have quite a few reds in my collection, but nothing like this one. It reads a bit deeper on me because I have a paler complexion, but it is such a super rich, luxurious color, I know it will look amazing on most people. Stunning!
Happy to hear you’re enjoying it, Seraphine! It’s definitely a deep red.
Gorgeous! I wish I were a Virgo! I hope Libra is as nice.
Well, no saying you can’t rock it if you aren’t 😉
This is CRAZY; but I really LOVE this shade of red for a more “daytime” red lip! The bizarre catch(es)?
1.) I gave up astrology 26 years ago, and I was extremely deep into it.
2.) Um, I’m March born.
3.) Ex-husband was a “Virgo”… ?
Nothing wrong with a red lip during the day 😀
Nope, not to us, anyway! I do get a bit tired of getting stared/ glared at when I do, though. Back in NJ, no one cared!
I wear MAC Cyber or Diva to work; I’m an software engineer; people stare; I just don’t care. I do consider also this `Virgo` color `casual` / `daytime` red lip, especially worn with a more subtle eye make-up. 😆
Dear Bite Beauty,
I have two requests:
1) Please make this permanent, and
2) Please become available in the UK
(Seriously, this is gorgeous! I’m a Virgo and this is such a perfect shade)
It’s a beauty!
Hmm thought it would be more berry than red…makes this a definite no for me, since I rarely use red
Nice to see it received a great score though
Darn!
When I read the `grape-red` description I was also hoping for a more berry red, maybe slightly plumish like a red grape. Too bad it’s online only at Sephora… I would try it… most lipsticks pull more `plumish` on me than on Christine. 😀
I am a Virgo and had 2 Lip Lab custom lipsticks created last year and one looks ridiculously similar to this….
Glad you have something so similar already!
I was hoping for a more berry tone BUT I got it anyway and have zero regrets, it’s just such an absolutely lovely color and I’m thrilled with it!
Happy to hear it, Carrie!
This looks nothing like the pics on Bite’s website. I almost ordered this but I’m glad I didn’t I would have been disappointed. I think Beetroot is a better match for the description.
I really wish they didn’t have sesame in their formula since I’ve developed an allergy almost all my Bite stash is unusable!
Oh, that sucks! 🙁
I picked this up the first day of the Sephora Rouge sale. if I were to mix up a colour for myself in the Bite lab, this would be it. I totally agree with your rating of this. To top it off I am a Virgo, so I’m relieved we got a shade I can wear. Most of the other astrology shades would have looked awful on me. I have a light olive complexion and find it very hard to wear nude/brown lipstick.
Oh, that is so fantastic, Stephanie! Perfection for ya!
Stunningly beautiful on you Christine – with its pink undertones it would turn pink on me, which I dislike. But it is a glorious shade.
I’m a Virgo. I don’t usually wear reds but I bought it and I love it. It’s a more moody red which I think is perfect for me. I can wear it as a stain or make it more bold. I usually wear more unconventional colors and glosses but couldn’t pass this up.
Yay! No dupes! Into cart it goes…
And I’m a Gemini, but I can play a Virgo for this lipstick.
It is such an interesting color. I’m a virgo; reds are my nude, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything quite like this so far. If I created my perfect color this is what I would make. I’m a little annoyed though. The lipsticks kept selling out and then I preordered it from bite because I didn’t know if they would have enough at sephora. They had plenty. I could have gotten it on sale and everything, but I’m glad I got it even if I did pay waaaay too much. 🙂
