Melon Mojito

Bite Beauty Melon Mojito Daycation Whipped Blush ($32.00 for 0.33 oz.) is a muted, medium coral with warmer undertones and fine, pink pearl throughout. It seemed more pigmented when initially squeezed out, but it sheered out instantly in practice, so the best coverage I could achieve was semi-sheer but that was patchy. If I left it as a very sheer layer (barely visible on my skin tone), it was only lightly patchy.

The consistency felt mousse-like but was quick to dry down and did not blend out or disperse evenly, which made it hard to work with. The finish was very flat and matte, rather than “natural-looking,” and it was prone to emphasizing skin texture/dryness if present. It stayed on decently for five and a half hours before fading was noticeable.

Formula Overview

$32.00/0.33 oz. - $96.97 Per Ounce

The formula is supposed to have a "natural-looking finish" with a whipped feel that is "non-cakey" and "lasts all day." The pigmentation was described as a "buildable flush," though it was more semi-sheer and hard to build up as the formula very quick-drying and harder to blend out/layer up without creating patchiness or lifting up the initial layer (or worse, one's foundation).

The pearl in each shade seemed too large, so they contributed to patchiness and the product moving around without adhering evenly. It was one of the harder cream blushes to use in more recent memory. They showed signs of fading after six hours on my cheeks.

I found the wide and squat squeeze tube to be harder to dispense product, often getting a lot of air and having to really squeeze to get product out... and other times, a barely-there squeeze dispensed more product than needed!

Wow. I knew this was coming since I saw the swatches posted while looking up swatches of a few other items. And this looks even worse than the watermelon just by virtue of the patchiness being more obvious to my eye – Is there an F- available?

I was one of the most critical about the packaging (I’m in usability and product design, albeit not this industry), so combine that with the price tag for that volume now coupled with just a subpar patchy product besides…I used to be able to confidently buy a new Bite product without reviews but they are just so unreliable now. I think my original comment predicted these would be hitting clearance sales before the end of summer and I’d be willing to pick it up then for half price, but I clearly spoke too soon. I don’t think it’s even worth picking up then. Such a pity – I was hoping these would be a decent dupe of the BECCA souffle tints that were out a few years back (I miss watermelon/moonstone), but clearly not.

Perhaps there needs to be a lower ranking even than F (or F-) – maybe H (for hellish?) or G (Ghastly!). So many of the comments, I’ve noticed, have been along the lines of “bring back the great lipsticks you used to make…”

Another liquid blush fail? Darn it, I’m still trying to find something similar to my grandmother’s back in the day, (1980s), tubes of Avon gel bronzer and liquid blush. My cousins and I used to play with her makeup when we were kids, and that stuff was such a mess, we used to cover our faces in it… it definitely had staying power.

God what were they thinking with this packaging? It not functional and it looks ugly and cheap. It also seems like it would be a pain go get the product out since the top is domed and won’t easily stand upside down. Bad, bad, bad.

Disappointing coming from a good company like Bite Beauty ..
It’s a very weird dispenser and way too much unnecessary plastic packaging .

The packaging is horrible. Do they ever consider that people with arthritis use makeup too? Or people with weakness in their hands? I don’t have those issues and I had to work hard to get anything to come out. I finally put the nozzle over a glass mixing palette and squeezed with both hands to get it out. What a disappointment!

I do have arthritis, and I’ve been griping about this for some time. Apparently it falls on deaf ears. I’ve had to forgo quite a few products due to it.
