Bite Beauty Matte Creme Lip Crayons Reviews, Photos, Swatches (Part 2)
Bite Beauty Grape Matte Creme Lip Crayon
Today, I have the remaining three shades of Bite Beauty Matte Creme Lip Crayons ($24.00 for 0.05 oz.), so if you missed the first three, check out part one. The formula is supposed to be a “moisture-rich, matte-finish lipstick with a delicious citrus scent.” The colors are rich and opaque, while they’re lightly hydrating (I don’t know if I’d go as far as to say “moisture-rich”), comfortable to wear, and long-wearing. They have a lemony-herbal-y scent to me, which may or may not be appealing to you. The only true downside is that these are 0.05 oz., as compared to the average-sized lipstick, which is around 0.10 oz.
Bite Beauty Grape Matte Creme Lip Crayon is described as a “muted violet.” It’s a medium-dark, magenta purple with cool undertones and a satin-matte finish. It had intense pigmentation that fully covered the lips in smooth, even color. The shade wore on for almost six hours, and it was lightly hydrating while worn. Sephora + Pantone Universe Radiant Rush (LE, $18.00) is slightly more fuchsia. Chanel La Diva (44) (P, $34.00) is more matte, pinker. MAC RiRi Boy (LE, $16.00) is more muted, purpler. MAC Up the Amp (P, $16.00) is more muted, purpler. MAC Candy Yum Yum (P, $16.00) is brighter, pinker. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
Bite Beauty Satsuma Matte Creme Lip Crayon is described as a “fuchsia pink.” It’s a brightened, medium fuchsia pink with cool, blue undertones and a satin finish. It was extremely well-pigmented, and the color applied very evenly. This shade lasted for five and a half hours on me, and it was lightly hydrating. Sephora + Pantone Universe Radiant Rush (LE, $18.00) is darker. Bite Beauty Moscato (P, $28.00) is brighter. Chanel La Diva (44) (P, $34.00) is more matte. MAC Candy Yum Yum (P, $16.00) is similar. Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Nylon (P, $18.00) is brighter. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
Bite Beauty Sweety Orange Matte Creme Lip Crayon is described as a “coral pink.” It’s a light-medium, warm-toned pink with a satin-matte finish. Like the rest of the shades in the range, the pigmentation-level was full coverage, and it applied beautifully without streaking or settling into lip lines. This shade lasted five hours on me, and it was lightly moisturizing during that time. MAC Viva Glam Nicki (LE, $16.00) is lighter. Le Metier de Beaute Fiji (P, $32.00) is more muted. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

I wish they would release some less out there colors in this formula. Its beautiful, but wow!
Hopefully they do!
Totally agree! I swatches them in store and loved the formula, but the colors were too loud for me.
All six of these crayons are gorgeous, and the formula sounds amazing! *adds to wishlist*
It’s a fantastic formula! Really impressive.
I was looking at these…for a while…but was concerned about how bright they are so never bit. Seeing them on they are bright indeed! But lovely on you. I’m so glad you did the review! Thank you.
I love Bite’s products. But I do object to the price point when they’re only .05 oz. YSL does .14 of $35/36…and the quality is as good if not much better (just one example). Nice…but even I want to feel like I’m getting a fair value. Sorry to keep harping on this same point in the comment section…
A lot of the crayon-type pencils seem to have significantly less than a traditional lipstick – I don’t know really what accounts for that. It’s just a slimmer tube, since regular lipsticks don’t require sharpening or anything. PPO is important, but I know that for me, who has a lot of lipsticks, I’d rather pay less, period (to an extent!), for a color since it’s unlikely I’ll use it up, you know?
I find that for shades like this it’s less likely that I would use it up, so having less product isn’t a big deal. These are weekend colours for me, so it’s not something i would get a ton of use of, but of course I still want them haha
I don’t disagree but I do avoid brands that reach a certain price point (and I do buy Chanel, YSL, Dior, etc so it’s not like that point has to be super low). With so many lovely products to choose from…the deciding factors sometimes matter. I never noticed that the pencils tend to be smaller…interesting as often they also require sharpening. If quality and size were always directly tied to each other the price points would arguable matter less.
Most jumbo lip pencils are 0.08 to 0.10 oz. – some are smaller – and then lipsticks in slim tubes seem to come in around 0.07 oz. or so as well. Standard is usually 0.10 to 0.12!
I need to be off my spending freeze, this is killing me. I need these in Sweety, Kumquat, Satsuma, and Blood Orange.
Must. Not. Give. In…
Oh no, wait…these are limited edition?!
That’s what Sephora says! I asked Bite Beauty a week or so ago, but I haven’t heard back.
You can resist!
The formula and stick-style packaging look great! I don’t particularly love any of these three colors for me, but for people who love bold purple and pink lips, I can see them being favorites
I hope they release more shades – perhaps a few more toned down ones – in this formula!
I love Grape. It’s so vibrant!
Me too! Love it!
Oh, I have been so excited to see group #2 since I noted you were reviewing the line in your group #1 review.. These are colours which appeal to me, but I thought might pull too cool for my neutral complexion as it seems I do not like the looks of anything too warm or too cool on me in general. It’s interesting to note that there is not a bad one in sight. I also have Sweety, but was thinking about buying Grape. Well, the jury is still out, but good to know the shade looks like it wouldn’t make me look like I have jaundice. It’s that level of sophistication I am looking for in the colours; the ability to be worn across skintones and I think these are quite wearable.. if you like brights and I certainly do.
I really liked Grape! But I think I just have a soft spot for those types of colors. It’s more wearable than I anticipated as well.
I own Sweety, LOVE the color but it settled in my fine lines badly. I have fine lines on my lips naturally so I have to be careful with some lipstick formulas, this one didn’t work for me.
Oh no! That’s such a bummer, Crystal! Did you try any of the other shades? Sweety is one of the lighter shades, so I’m curious if you have issues with some of the darker ones as well!
This is so funny to me because a satsuma and a clementine are essentially the same fruit, but Bite made the colors so different! They’re not pink, they’re bright orange!
LOL! I know. It’s weird how they named them!
I just love these colors! I want them all lol. Especially Grape! It’s so pretty and the formula sounds pretty nice too. I can’t believe I haven’t tried any of their lipsticks yet
Grape is such a fun shade!
All three are pretty!
If you had to pick a fave, what would it be?
These colors are gorgeous but the price…. nope
Maybe there’s a better-priced dupe that could work for you!
Well I’m glad I don’t feel the need to own all six of them, but I do love Sweety and all 3 from round 1, so I officially have 4 on my wish-list….my poor bank account
Poor wallet!
Those look great! Added to whishlist 🙂
How do clementine and blood orange compare to NARS timanfaya?
Timanfaya is lighter and much more yellow-based, whereas both Blood Orange and Clementine are reddish.

I need Sweety!
I hope you can try it, Carrie!
Fierce, all of them! I’m too much of a wuss to wear colors like these – I mean, these are practically neon! – but Sweety does look nice.
Aww, but you would be SO gorgeous in brights 🙂
+1 I second that, Melissa! Bright lippies would be stunning on you!
I almost got Satsuma today, but got Kumquat instead. I’m glad I did! I love these though..
Ooh! Have you tried it yet?
I’m disappointed that none of the available colors appeal to me. It seems like such an amazing formula! But I don’t think any of these shades would work with my olive skin, as for the other shades, I’m not really a fan of orange. Hopefully they release some more colors and make them permanent!
I’m hoping they make these permanent, too! I’d love to see a few more subdued shades, just to round it out.
I impulsively bought Satsuma a few weeks back and I’m so glad I did, it’s beautiful. I may need to go out and buy Grape now…
Happy to hear you’re loving the formula!
Sweety is calling my name! And, when you say lemony-herbal – not like Ricola, right? 😛
I haven’t had a Ricola before!
Oh, okay, just a lemon-honey flavored cough drop, really.
The formula seems to be really nice overall. I am picking few of the shades! 🙂
The formula is a winner for sure 🙂 Hope they add more shades!
I love Grape and Satsuma. They’re so gorgeous when worn. I’ve been debating Sweety but I don’t know if I really NEED it.
It’s nice but I think you could skip!
such pretty colours!
They are!
More pretty things to tempt me… Grape and Sweety look perfect for summer. Assuming it ever gets here…
Fingers crossed it arrives for you!
These all look fabulous on you! I think Grape and the somewhat ungrammatical Sweety are my favourites, though 🙂
Thank you!!
I really like these (REALLY REALLY LIKE THESES) and because it’s spring time and i like to wear bright makeup around this time I can see myself wearing these colors daily, but the fact that it’s only 0.05 oz makes me think that it will be a waste of 24 bucks because they won’t last long. When you think about it they have a small point so its not like one swipe and your lips are covered, plus re-applying throughout the day, i can see this lasting till the end of the summer which is huge let down.
I just need one layer for opaque coverage 🙂 they’re really pigmented so it goes further. There are definitely similar colored lipsticks that are larger available!
I’ll give it a try just because you highly recommend it 🙂 and plus sweety is the closest dupe to viva glam nicki that I’ve seen and I freaking love that lipstick to death so any close dupe of it I want it
Love these colors! Your lipstick swatches are always beautiful! Do you use a lip scrub? If so which one and how do you apply?
I use a lip scrub as I need one. I just apply it to my lips, rub gently, remove!
Christine, you look ridiculously beautiful in Grape!! Yowza! 😉
Thank you, Kristen!
i purchased the grape and an orange color recently – love them… you can tone it down with some lip gloss. nice to see that temptalia hearts them too!!!!
Happy to hear you’re loving them, Roselyn!
Was really hoping the grape was going to be the color on the bottom of the pencil when I saw it, but it looks totally different. Not grape at all :/
It is quite true – the end doesn’t match the tip at all, lol!
I really like Sweety – and the name is so cute!
Yay!
Very nice! I really am loving Bite more and more!
Me too, Erin!
I think sweety is a testament to the fact that you can’t just swatch makeup on your arm and expect to get a good representation. (I find this to be particularly true for eyeshadows for me.) But I keep on going back and forth between sweety on your arms and sweety on your lips. It turned so cool!
I think that’s a very true statement, Sophia! Swatches tell one story, but it’s not a complete story unless you actually try it on!
Sweety Matte is such a pretty shade.. The tip is an advantage to use them for lining the lips and filling them!!.
The packaging is elegant too.. 🙂
These apply really easily and precisely!
Happy to see Bite products on your blog, I love this brand SO HARD. They do not disappoint. Well, except for the weird square lip liners. Those kind of suck.
Good to know! Thanks for the heads up!
