They claimed on their Instagram (I saw a reply from them to a comment about a month ago – not sure if there is anything official) that the reformulated amuse bouche are in the works. That would have made a MUCH better holiday release than having two of their three releases include sets with already available products. C’mon Bite! Please release bullet lipsticks again, so many are looking forward to that (myself included). Is it too much to hope that maybe they’ll have another holiday treat in store and it will be bullet lipsticks? If I hadn’t seen that comment of theirs I’d have given up all hope!

Honestly it’s been so long, that I feel like it’s too late, especially since the formula won’t be the one we knew and loved, ya know? Either way this release is a snooze fest!

I’m not sure how I feel about those tins… there are 5 but you only have 4 shades listed?

Anyway, the mini tip stains look adorable! I might check those out of they ever come to Sephora NZ 🙂

Carmen Avatar

These are nice and all, but where the heck are the reformulated lipsticks, Bite?! I’m like, why discontinue the entire line if it’s going to be a year or more before the reformulation comes out (which makes me think the reformulation wasn’t perfected yet… that’s just my speculation, though).

Of brands I like, Bite definitely gets my vote for most disappointing brand in 2020. Seriously, they’ve gotten so boring! I’m honestly so sick of them discontinuing stellar products I may just give up on them entirely. And no, I don’t want another complexion product plz…

AJ Avatar

I agree Beth. I used to love Bite so much, and I still reach for their products that I have, but the pivot to “clean beauty” rather than relaunching their popular lipsticks just seems like a huge miss.

I mean I’m still probably going to buy the Midnight Mood set because I love their lip crayons, but I want my reformulated Amuse Bouche and I want it to be at least as good as it used to be.

Lucie Avatar

The lip crayons aren’t my favorite format – they’re just a titch daintier than I care for so I’m not horribly excited for them, but I won’t rule them out.

The lip tint tins seem right up my alley and a likely purchase.

I just wish they would have come out with one or two colors new colors of the lip stains like they did for the lip crayons. I really love them (and already have all three) and have been hoping they would come out with additional colors. I even love orange fizz even though I notoriously hate orange and eschew like 99.9% of orange lip products or orange-based reds.

I REALLY miss their Chai color in every iteration of lip products it came in. The liquid and amuse bouche and pencil… it was all the perfect color and formula for me. I still have and use some others like from the spice collection? Harissa, turmeric, pink salt, but I need Chai 🙁 It’s taking way too long!

I definitely have enjoyed the reformulation of the lip crayons and I picked up their new glosses and I think those smell amazing and have a nice texture (though the glittery ones were a tad gritty). But I tell you what… I am over brands putting their most purchased shades into sets with new items too. Holiday offerings should be driven by limited edition and new surprises. If a brand wants to do a gift set of most loved things, I get it, it’s a good time of year to gift your brand’s hero products but then if you do that, keep the limited and new out of hero product sets. I know lots of us break up gift sets and give them to our friends, but I’m just really over this practice as a whole.

This is more of just a brand specific thing… one year Bite did some Agave masks in peppermint, maple and I think one other flavor. The maple one is my HOLY GRAIL lip product, I am completely obsessed with it and its breakfast in bed cozy pancake morning smell and if they don’t bring it back I just may never forgive them! 😉

Lynda Avatar

I was ride or die for Bite. Their agave lip mask in candy cane and maple are my absolute favourite. And then they reformulated and now it sucks. Doesn’t nearly compare to the old formula. I’m desperately holding on to my last candy cane one and I don’t know what I’ll do when it’s done because I haven’t found a comparable lip product. I also loved the amuse Bouche. Where are the lipsticks?

Quinn Avatar

Agree.

I remember Holiday 2016. I had just started getting into sephora and make up. There was a marked down holiday set with full size amuse bouce lipstick, deluxe lip mask, liner and something else. I fell hard!

Oh, that lip mask. My dry Minnesota lips have never felt such comfort. Even when I cheated with Laneige (admit it, you gave into the temptation too) I still couldn’t quit you Bite. I’ve been know to layer you both.

And when you finally released the exclusive to Canada Maple lip mask in the US, Choirs of freaking angel’s sang.

And then you ruined it.

I still have 270 grams of the unopened climate controlled testament to your prior genius.

All this to say I don’t need these and am still mad at bite for discontinuing their best product.

I’m mildly curious about the tins (Bramble in particular) but holy unsanitary, batman. We are in a pandemic and you release tins. Not that the tubes were great but at least you could squeeze out product that was more protected from the elements and disease.

Hey, you guys, lanolin was one of the main ingredients in the old balm that worked so well. It’s not as luxurious as their vanilla scented (or the maple, omg the maple), but you can buy a tub of Australian Gold Lanolin off amazon for less than ten bucks and it’s magical.

Z Avatar

I’m interested in the balm kit. I always wish companies didn’t bow down to the masses who want buzz words like “clean” (check out caroline hirons for why this is an idiotic concept that’s actually damaging to the cosmetic industry) and “vegan.” Look, I don’t want animals to suffer and be used exclusively for their beauty applications – like minks – but sheep are eaten and they *have* to be sheared in the summer time. So I have zero problems with lanolin being used in products. Waste not, want not. And as far as my skin goes, lanolin is the single best hydrating/protecting ingredient I’ve found.

Having gone on about my spiel….I wish they hadn’t changed their agave lip balms formula to remove lanolin. Luckily I have a few backup tubes, but the new formula isn’t as good for me, personally, and that makes me less enthusiastic about these sets. But I won’t turn one down on the post-holiday sale.
