Sadly, think I have outgrown this finish. I grow old; I grow old; I shall wear my trousers rolled. (Eliot/ prufrock. I think that is the greatest poem in the English language.) Never was one for metallic, when it was in, in the 90s. Not to worry, I like to rule things out, esp whole collections.

I love this poem ever since I studied it in English lit. Best Poem ever! So many times in my life I’ve found myself quoting from the Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock. Now about the lippies, I like the colors but there’s something about the coverage that just doesn’t do it for me. At $24 dollars a pop, I think I’ll pass.

When my mum died in 99…I was laid off that day and notified the day I buried her…I took my border terrier to the cemetery with me, and read that, and the Congregationalist prayer that Mame always called the Prayer of Procrastination. No visiting hours, no funeral. Me either, please. When I die, I would like my friend’s husband, who was a founder of the Boston Shakespeare Co, though not always an actor, to read it for me, in his best Prospero voice. ‘Do I dare?’ Greatest meditation on mortality ever. Eliot must have been thinking about m/u, when he spoke of ‘decisions and revisions which a minute can reverse.’ It’s all in there!

The lip swatches are super helpful. I’m seeing raised lip texture in all of these which is not at all surprising given the shimmer finish. So for me and my mature lips, a pass. Violet icing is beautiful and tempting and I wonder about layering, but every time I think I can pull off this finish and buy, I wear and feel like it adds 10 years to my face.
