Coconut Rum

Bite Beauty Coconut Rum Daycation Whipped BlushBite Beauty Coconut Rum Daycation Whipped Blush ($32.00 for 0.33 oz.) is a light brown with warmer undertones and a pearly sheen. It had the finest pearl within the range, so it was easier to work with than others in the line, though it was still a drier formula that did not like to diffuse and blend out.

It had semi-sheer coverage, which didn’t really build up; the best way to get higher coverage was to over-apply product and barely blend it out, wait for it to dry, and then apply foundation on top to soften the edges as the dried down finish wasn’t that blendable without lifting up product and/or base products. It was very quick to dry, and it was fairly matte, so I would not have described it as a “natural-looking finish” as marketed. There were signs of fading after six hours of wear.

Formula Overview

$32.00/0.33 oz. - $96.97 Per Ounce

The formula is supposed to have a "natural-looking finish" with a whipped feel that is "non-cakey" and "lasts all day." The pigmentation was described as a "buildable flush," though it was more semi-sheer and hard to build up as the formula very quick-drying and harder to blend out/layer up without creating patchiness or lifting up the initial layer (or worse, one's foundation).

The pearl in each shade seemed too large, so they contributed to patchiness and the product moving around without adhering evenly. It was one of the harder cream blushes to use in more recent memory. They showed signs of fading after six hours on my cheeks.

I found the wide and squat squeeze tube to be harder to dispense product, often getting a lot of air and having to really squeeze to get product out... and other times, a barely-there squeeze dispensed more product than needed!

Oh dear lord….please just go back to the traditional lipsticks, please, please, please….that’s where their energies should be!

This one could be the best of the bunch! I’m so disappointed for the direction Bite has taken. They should have brought their beautiful bullet lipstick to more countries instead of reformulating and branching out 🙁

Ooh, a high mark…well, higher than the rest. I’d go for the CP Roosevelt. Sad when CP does better than Bite. GO BACK TO YOUR DISTINCTIVE COMPETENCE, lip products.

Sometimes I’m sure products receive poor reviews based on the extraordinary claims of the company. In this case tho……..Yeah, a crappy product is a crappy product.

Even this one with one grade higher still looks rather uneven and patchy. Bite, please just go back to what you do so well: LIP products! Especially lipsticks.

Nancy – do you sense a refrain here in almost all the posts? “Bite, just go back to what you do (did) so well”. Maybe we should write a song!

Do we even have faith at this point that their lipsticks which are ‘coming soon’ will even be close to what they once were?? I’ll speak for myself: nope.

They sure are struggling to find their niche since the rebrand. I hate the packaging on these blushes, and then to see the reviews it’s just a definite no!

What a shame, the color is quite pretty and unusual! It looks so weird, it’s like the product’s pigments seep into the skin lines on your hand, that would not be a good feature on the face 🙃
