Bite Beauty Cava Luminous Crème & Amuse Bouche Lipsticks Reviews, Photos, Swatches
Cava
Bite Beauty Cava Luminous Creme Lipstick ($24.00 for 0.15 oz.) is a soft, medium mauve with warmer, pink undertones and a soft sheen. The Luminous Creme formula is supposed to be pigmented, hydrating, and long-wearing. It had good color payoff, though it was not fully opaque, with a lightweight consistency that had moderate slip and was comfortable to wear. Some of the color pulled into my lip lines. The color lasted three hours on me but was hydrating. The Amuse Bouche version appeared lighter, a little grayer, with better coverage and longer wear.

Cava
Bite Beauty Cava Amuse Bouche Lipstick ($26.00 for 0.15 oz.) is a muted, light-medium mauve with neutral undertones and a natural sheen. The Amuse Bouche formula is supposed to be hydrating, long-wearing, and pigmented. It had nearly opaque pigmentation with a smooth, creamy consistency with some slip but good adherence as the color did not slide around while worn. The color wore well for five hours with a bit of color settling into lip lines after three hours of wear. The formula was lightly hydrating while worn.

Formula Overview
$26.00/0.15 oz. - $173.33 Per Ounce
Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Lipstick ($26.00 for 0.15 oz.) is supposed to have “bold, creamy color” with “extreme moisture, soft texture, and creamy wear.” The majority of the range is very pigmented–typically opaque with one pass–with a few shades being semi-opaque but usually buildable.
The consistency is very lightly creamy to lightly creamy with some shades requiring light-medium pressure and can pull the lip a bit when gliding it across the lips, though the color doesn’t appear ragged and the bullet itself doesn’t feel stiff (while other shades applied without tugging, so check individual shade reviews!) The majority of the shades I’ve tested have been lightly hydrating to non-drying and fairly comfortable to wear for the long-haul. They have a herbal, lemony scent but no discernible taste. They wear longer than average, from four to eight hours, depending on the intensity and propensity of the shade to stain.

I actually REALLY enjoy this shade on you, Christine!! It looks so fresh and you look beautiful!!!
Thank you, Shannon!
I love this and the Honeycomb shade – the formula and colour are just top notch!
The formula is great!
I’m big cava drinker so for that reason alone I need Cava in my life, hehe.
Yay!
If and when I see all the Cava’s in the Sephora display with all their testers, plus Thistle, I’ll be having a try-on party!
I love how this shade looks on you, but I worry that it could be too light on me. You are about the same skintone shade as my daughter, who is a few shades lighter than me at NC25-ish.
I can’t wait to see if either comes home with you!
Neither version will work on me, but hope better luck for others
Fingers crossed!
Why is Cava given all this hype?
It must work well for some 🙂
Wait, why does it appear twice?
There are two formulas.
Oh! Reading comprehension much, Allison!
There’s also a lip crayon version, lol! 😉
I love Bite’s formulas but the shades never look quite right on me. It’s a mystery. They pull too gray or too pepto pink or too blah blah it’s just weird. I’ve never had it happen before with any other brand. Maybe I’ve just tried the wrong colors. Have you ever experienced a brand thats shades just didn’t look good on you even though they look good on other people? If I’m asking too late it’s ok, I know this has been up almost a week. I never miss a post even if I get behind! ?
I haven’t myself, but I don’t have a great idea of what is or isn’t flattering since many people tell me what is/isn’t flattering on me and I don’t agree with them.
is there a difference in colors between the original and rereleased luminous crème formula? I have both and the new seems a little pinker… or could just be my tube.. what do you think?
I’m very sorry, but I don’t have the original version to compare this to.
