Bite Beauty #052, 054, 094 Lip Pencils Reviews, Photos, Swatches
#052
Bite Beauty #052 The Lip Pencil ($18.00 for 0.05 oz.) is a blackened greenish-teal with cool undertones and a satin finish. There was very, very fine pearl that kept it from appearing totally matte, but it did not have true shine once applied to the lips. It looked blacker and had less noticeable green coloring on my lips compared to swatched on my arm. The consistency was lightly creamy and easy to maneuver along the edges of my lips. It applied decently as an all-over color but was evened out by pressing my lips together. It lasted for over six hours and was non-drying. I think it would work best with Amuse Bouche shade(s): Kale (lighter, greener on) see comparison swatches.
The Lip Pencil is supposed to have “perfect, allover, opaque lip coverage” with a lightweight feel. The formula worked exceptionally well for lining the edges of the lips and keeping lipstick on longer and more within the lines (e.g. a lipstick feathers on its own wouldn’t feather when layered over one of the lip pencils). Some shades worked well for filling in the lips for all over color, but a few applied more unevenly or were less comfortable to fill in with. The consistency was soft, just barely creamy–almost more velvety than creamy–and oddly spreadable, as it was infinitely easier to even out color by rubbing my lips together than applying more product. The formula has a lightweight feel on the lips, and the wear ranged from five to six hours for light to medium-hued shades with some of the deeper and richer shades lasting well over six hours. They will require sharpening, and as they are creamier, it was easiest to keep them in a cool place or in the freezer (for a few minutes) prior to sharpening to minimize any mess in the sharpener.

They do feel lightweight, and they lasted anywhere from five to six hours on their own. They weren’t spectacularly long-wearing as a standalone lip product, but they extended the wear of lipsticks by two to four hours.

#054
Bite Beauty #054 The Lip Pencil ($18.00 for 0.05 oz.) is a deep, navy blue with cool undertones and a purplish tone. It appeared less blue and more purple when applied to my lips, which was likely the result of it not being totally opaque, so some of the natural pinkness of my lips came through. The consistency was smooth, a touch creamy but not too emollient, and evened out best by rubbing my lips together, but after doing so, it was surprisingly even for such a deep shade. I think it would work best with Amuse Bouche shade(s): Squid Ink (bluer, less purple) see comparison swatches.

#094
Bite Beauty #094 The Lip Pencil ($18.00 for 0.05 oz.) is a rich, medium-dark fuchsia with cool, blue undertones and a mostly matte finish. It had nearly opaque pigmentation a single layer, and the formula was lightly creamy and easy to work with on the lips. I was able to line the edges of my lips but could also fill in my lips entirely with this color. I pressed my lips together gently to even out the color at the end, which worked well. This shade lasted for eight hours with minor fading, though it started to feel drying after seven hours of wear. I think it would work best with Amuse Bouche shades: Kimchi (brighter, lighter), Dragonfruit (slightly brighter) see comparison swatches.

Oh goodness, am I happy as heck that 052 did so well! Because I need that one for my ColourPop Crystal Ball lipgloss and possibly a future tube of Kale.
I like the look of 054 to use with my UD Time lipstick, but will get the Nyx navy lip liner instead because I hardly ever wear Time.
054 would work well with Time for sure but glad there’s a NYX option!
I’m kind of curious to see how the dark green and blue would work as eyeliners (even though I know I shouldn’t do that).
Question for you, although I suspect you would have passed on the information if you had it: All the Amuse Bouche colours are still on the Sephora website, however, the last time I was in a Sephora store, the display had been rearranged and a few shades had been removed. IIRC, the shades were Pickled Ginger, Dragonfruit, either Spritzer or Gin Fizz, Sorbet, and (I think) Nori. The changes in the display allowed a permanent place for four limited shades, currently occupied by the four “Edgy Neutrals” browns. (The new display also had Cava included, which was expected.) Have you heard anything about certain shades being discontinued? It’s possible that those colours just won’t be available in stores, as there’s currently no extra space for them, but I’d want to know if any of them are going away forever.
I haven’t but it is unlikely that I’d get the info sent me so the only place that it might be seen (by me) is if Bite posted on their Instagram. I would say if you see them disappear online (the same shades) then it might be likely they are discontinued…
I love that you added which lipstick shades would pair best in these reviews! I’m not a lip liner person for mostly the reason of I never feel like I know how to pair them up. This may encourage me to give it a try.
I rarely use liner outside of testing them, lol!
Damn, why weren’t these out for VIB 🙁
I know! 🙁
IKR? That would have been too convenient. :/
Considering these are $20CAN, the sale would have been nice. 😉 I want #052 and a few of the peach/coral shades.
I’m absolutely thrilled that #052 and #054 performed so well! I’ll be getting them i the near future.
Woohoo!
Makes sense that 52 would look black after being applied to your lips; the pink tone of lips plus the blue-green blend to make a grey — in this case an ultra-dark grey. You’d likely have to line completely outside of your lips (in the flesh-tone area) to see the blue-green color, but that might only work for the paler girls.
Yeah, it’s crazy how the natural tones of lips can really alter a lip color! It makes sense but still so weird sometimes (to me)!
Nice! Glad these scored well, much better than the KVD ones, and some unique colors too! I have to say, if you only do lip products, better do them well, and BITE does!
I’m really glad that Bite released more so that more of their shades have liner friends!
Glad to see these getting good grades like the original release! I’ll definitely be picking up #052 and possibly #054 as well. I have a green lip pencil from Ka’oir but it’s a light, brighter teal green so I’ve been looking for a darker green to pair with my handful of darker green lipsticks.
(I still might pick up the new green one from NYX as well lol, I have a lot of green lipsticks!)
Yes, I think they’re very consistent with the original set! 🙂 Some wear better (I think because this batch have darker shades, less “neutrals”), too!
