Bite Beauty #011 (Swiss Chocolate) Creme Deluxe Lipstick Review, Photos, Swatches
Bite Beauty #011 (Swiss Chocolate) Creme Deluxe Lipstick
Bite Beauty #011 (Swiss Chocolate) Creme Deluxe Lipstick ($36.00 for 0.15 oz.) is described as a “deep brown with red undertone.” It’s a muted, dark reddish-brown with warm undertones and a glossy sheen.
This was Bite’s November shade release, and it sold out quickly! The Creme Deluxe formula is supposed to be hydrating and pigmented. Generally, I find their standard formula, Luminous Creme, to be thicker, glossier, and more hydrating, but the pigmentation varies from shade to shade within both formulas. This month’s edition is mostly opaque with a lightweight, creamy consistency that has enough slip that the color doesn’t go on perfectly evenly–not bad with respect to application, just not perfect. The color wore well for five hours and was lightly hydrating.

I feel like for the price these should be perfect. I almost didn’t buy this. But, couldn’t resist. I line typically with intense shades anyhow. So, I think that will hopefully help this one out. I have Cognac though. I like the finish on this and the hydrating formula a bit better though.
I totally agree, Nicole! They are pricey (especially when Bite has such a great formula normally!), so I’d like to see them perform really well!
I am SO glad I grabbed this color! I was worried it was going to be a ghoulish super dark brown, but it’s the kind of reddish brown that I love (hello ’90’s!) . After I swatched it, I debated getting a back up but of course, it was sold out by then.
I’m glad you were able to get one, Katherine!
Wow, this one looks like a glossier version of my MAC Deep Love! And both of them make me crave a deep chocolate Dove candy bar! No, really!
Haha!
I almost got this-but with the problems the other colors had I decided to pass. Mac mattene in legendary is one of my favorites! Wish that would become permanent. The formula, color & package are excellent. Is there a dupe for that? ?
Any dupes would be listed already for it 🙂
I was curious as to how this compares to Cognac. Looks like it’s pretty close
Definitely! 🙂
Christine, thanks so much for posting the dupes for these! Even if I happen to visit the Sephora site when one of these first comes out, I remain indecisive and never pull the trigger fast enough to actually get one! Thanks to your reviews, I usually find out that I already have a dupe for the shades that really appeal to me, and don’t end up feeling like I’ve missed out on something special 🙂
I’m so glad I can help, Fran! 🙂
It was to 90’s and dupeable for me to care. I have a shade that’s kind of similar for when I want that’s luminous 90’s brown/red/plum.
Glad you have a good dupe, Erin!
This is my perfect colour – love, love, love.
Woohoo!
Ok, with my last comment bemoaning about Sephora, I purchased this lipstick the minute it came out on Sephora lol. It is definitely NOT a colour I would get since I stray away from any sort of vampy colours, but stick a product with my name or birthdate and you have yourself a buyer. I thought I would totally regret it once received esp with the price. But surprisingly, i don’t mind it, and looks quite pretty if just patted on the lips for a sheerer burgundy red. And leaves a nice stain behind. It quite impressed me with Bite Beauty, I purchased Mauvember soon after as well.
I’m happy to hear you ended up enjoying this quite a bit, Grace 🙂
Love this on you, Christine!
Thanks, Claire!
I am so glad I got this!!! I haven’t been able to use it because I am sick but later this week this is the first color I am reaching for and I brought two with my 20% off so that brought the price down and made it easier to pull the trigger! Ive put it in my calender now so I don’t miss out because I missed out on some great colors earlier in the year!
Woohoo!
Hope you feel better soon!
I know the Chanel holiday quad didn’t fare well on review, but it sure looks pretty on you. I immediately noticed your eyes. I’m not a fan of reddish chocolate brown lips, makes me look jaundiced, but you manage to rock this lippie out 😀
Haha! 😉 Thanks, Wendy!
I have a feeling that had they named it Belgian Chocolate the quality would have been A+! Just sayin’
😉
Haha!
Funny, I am eating trader joe’s Belgian chocolate pudding as I read. It IS the best, and far better than your fabled ale, which I find a tad indigestive. TJ also has a > 1 # bar at a great price! Why settle for subpar makeup or chocolate, when we have Christine & Belgium? My other favorite Belgian thing is the Griffon Bruxellois. Nothing is cuter. For me, the tube will be Belgian Chocolate.
😀
I wonder if MAC Dubonett (permanent) is a suitable dupe?
My guess is Dubonnet would be lighter — redder 🙂
Oh my gosh this color is absolutely stunning on you! I absolutely love it!
Aw, thanks, Karissa!
What an interesting colour. Pity we don’t have Bite here.
They neeeed to work on distribution!
This is my first, and possibly only Bite LE and I like it so much that I don’t even mind not getting it on sale! This is my favorite color family of all. Deborah and Leslie (redder) will come in my S box; this is the one I ordered by itself. Also will need to score Sandra, from the Nars f&f. Also noted the MACs I need. This has a purple-pucey undertone on me. Cognac is fairly straight dk. brown & only a ~80-85 % dupe on me. It’s so funny how much lip color can influence even a dark shade. It’s also funny (or is it addiction) how many nuances and necessities we see in dupes of shades we love. I have 2 RDOs today & tomorrow… this one will be on for three days straight. Love! Big Love!
I’m so glad you ended up liking it — and it was worth the $$!
Christina, you’re insanely good at taking pictures. They are so good that I want to eat this lipstick. Yes, LIPSTICK! You should try food photography as an extension of your wonderful talent. Love
Aww, thank you Luba Bee!
