Best & Worst of Pat McGrath MatteTrance Lipsticks (Fall 2018)

Ta-da! I just finished reviewing the ten new shades of Pat McGrath MatteTrance Lipstick ($37.00 for 0.12 oz.) that were added this month to the line-up, so that means it’s time for a summary of which ones did the best. Per the brand, the MatteTrance formula is supposed to be “richly pigmented” with “”supreme hydration” and “opulent matte opacity.” They are quite pigmented, long-wearing, and comfortable to apply and to wear with minimal slip but lots of initial creaminess. I find that they’re of a cream-to-satin finish than a true matte, though they, like most satin finishes, wear down to a more matte finish over time.

We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Thank you for understanding!

Oh my gosh, these are lovely! I certainly don’t need any more lipsticks (I have a serious lipstick addiction – LOL!). However, I can’t help but feel that Extravaganza, Deep Orchid, and Executive Realness should be in my life!

Out of this release I picked up four, Executive Realness, Guinevere, Beautiful Stranger and Forbidden Love. I can pretty much predict that Deep Orchid will be my next purchase. Love this formula, love the shades and am so happy for Mother that she has been so successful with her brand.
