Naked!
I agree! I have several travel favourites but if I’m flying with more than just carry on luggage, a palette has to be replaceable as well as practical and versatile and the original Naked palette fills the bill. If we’re driving, I’m more casual and will even take my beloved Empreinte du Desert quad but I’d never put it in checked airline luggage.
I don’t bring a premade palette. I figure out what I’m wearing. Then I pick out 4 of MAC eyeshadow pans and put them in an empty quad. Pick blush and lipsticks to coordinate with those shades. That way if I broke it, it would be less costly to replace!
I just packed Tartellet in Bloom for a weekend in the Catskills!
When I travel I take my Naked 2 and Lorac Pro Palette along and I am pretty right for neutrals, greys and colours.
I do think that Naked 1, the Lorac Pro Palette 1 would also be pretty good too.
i used to travel with palettes but now i travel with cream pencils such as the by terry ombré blackstar or laura mercier caviar sticks. less weight, less space in luggage and no fear of a favorite palette breaking. also less time doing makeup & more time vacationing.
pior to this, my picks probably would be naked 3, viseart petite pro 3, nars wanted or huda obsessions in smokey.
Historically, I have taken the two 9 pan palette from Too Faced, the Natural Matte and Boudoir when travelling by plane and when by car I take way too much!! I have started thinking about our month long trip to Europe in the fall and haven’t nailed it down yet. I may go with singles made into a small palette. We are going to try and do the trip with carry-on only so that really limits what I can take.
I added Tarte Rainforest of the Sea because it’s such a nice range of soft neutral mattes and satins, and the case is very pretty, sturdy, and travel friendly.
Other palettes I like to travel with are UD Ultimate Basics and Tarte Amazonian Clay Mattes. Also Colourpop Fame, though I wish it was sturdier palette.
I usually travel with my Laura Mercier Artist’s palette because there’s no way the pans are coming loose, and I usually travel for work so I want understated looks.
I’d love to take my Naked Palettes but I don’t trust they’ll survivie!
Buxom palettes also work great, I have 2 of the pre-made ones and I’ll just pick my favorite 5 shades from both and pop them in one palette because you can take them out and rearrange them so easily
Tarteist PRO to go Amazonian Clay Palette. It’s so tiny, it’s so pigmented, and it has mattes and metallics. If I’m travelling, it’s the only eye palette I ever bring.
I love all of these palettes listed! I would also recommend all of them in general. Especially modern renaissance 😉 I would also recommend that making one of Anastasias 4 pan palettes is a great idea. I don’t travel a lot, but when I do I find that it is easier to pack singles. Such as MAC singles that are encased, A Natural Flirt and Nylon are big go to’s. I also always bring cream or liquid shadows. They just all fit into the little nooks and crannies of my makeup bags better than a palette ☺️
