Best Products of the Week | Vol. 351

Hope your weekend is starting off on the right note! Every Saturday, I like to share the top 10 products from the last week of reviews. It’s a nice way to highlight what reviews have been published recently. Similarly, I love reading–and I know others enjoy sharing!–their own “week in review” when it comes to what makeup/beauty products they may have used and/or enjoyed.

What was your week in review like? Copy and paste the lil’ survey below and share your answers in the comments 🙂

  • Your skin tone/coloring:
  • What was your favorite makeup look you wore this past week?:
  • What was the hero product of the week for you?:
  • Any products you want to use next week?:

Comments that do not adhere to our comment policy may be removed. Discussion and debate are highly encouraged but we expect community members to participate respectfully. Please keep discussion on-topic, and if you have general feedback, a product review request, an off-topic question, or need technical support, please contact us!

Please help us streamline the comments' section and be more efficient: double-check the post above for more basic information like pricing, availability, and so on to make sure your question wasn't answered already. Comments alerting us to typos or small errors in the post are appreciated (!) but will typically be removed after errors are fixed (unless a response is needed).

We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Thank you for understanding!

I have the Supergoop Glowscreen and really like it but there are days when it’s a bit too “glowy”. I’m so tempted to try this version but because this is one product where I do pretty much pay attention to the expiry dates, I’ll wait til I’m almost done the Glowscreen (or maybe buy the mini to carry in my purse).

What was your favorite makeup look you wore this past week?
• EYES: NYX Proof It Waterproof Eyeshadow Primer; MAC eyeshadow singles (Malt as transition, Satin Taupe on lid blended up towards crease, Blanc Type on brow bone); UD 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Mushroom on outer third of lower lash line; CoverGirl Clump Crusher Waterproof Mascara; and a combination of Benefit Goof Proof Brow Pencil and Precisely My Brow, both in Grey
• FACE: L’Oreal Infallible 24HR Fresh Wear Makeup in Porcelain, Lancome Effacernes Waterproof Concealer in Light Buff, MAC Blot Powder in Light, Clinique Rosy Pop Blush
• LIPS: MAC Viva Glam II

What was the hero product of the week for you? Milani Color Fetish Matte Lipstick in Secret. It’s a dupe of Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution in Pillow Talk, but it has a smoother texture, lasts for hours, and costs 1/4 of the price of Pillow Talk.

Any products you want to use next week? Continue to rediscover eyeshadow palettes and singles that I haven’t used in a couple of years.

What was your favorite makeup look you wore this past week?: I was very happy with my look using ABH’s Sultry this week: Pearl over the lid, Steampunk over the mobile lid and Teak next to the lashline. I paired it with CP’s Lay Over lipstick.

What was the hero product of the week for you?: All my eyeshadow palettes – I used a different one every single day.

Any products you want to use next week?: I am going to try and rotate my lipsticks a bit more.

What was your favorite makeup look you wore this past week?: I’m wearing it! Same exact look as last week, except this time I used MAC Fig 1 instead of Indian Ink in my crease and this time I remembered to use my Haus Labs Pink Amethyst highlighter paired with Lethal Cosmetics Ornamental blush. Talk about beaming to the stars! Ye gads!

What was the hero product of the week for you?: As much as I always tout my black WP products, I am now putting everything I got from both Lethal Cosmetics and that crazy shiny Haus Labs Pink Amethyst Bio-Radiant Highlighter!

Any products you want to use next week?: Lethal Cosmetics Floret blush…with a super light hand and a stippling brush. Because swatched on my hand, it looked like the powder from literal Cheetos! But, oddly for me, I think I like it a lot!

Cosmic Collision is just that a slap in the face “Wow!” color and effect. But I wouldn’t wear it enough for the price, what a shame. I know it takes more effort and investment of the effect though.

Jane Avatar

Ahhhhhh! And Protostar and Atomic Division!!! I have to stop looking! They are soooo smooth and the colors are unique! I sometimes wonder how companies keep finding unique combinations in the multi chrome space. Just beautiful to behold!

Sorry, was side tracked by the product! LOL!

Your skin tone/coloring: Medium; yellow -neutral
What was your favorite makeup look you wore this past week?: Nothing, a no makeup week (just because)
What was the hero product of the week for you?: No one product. All of my hydrating face serums and skin cream products. My skin is sooooo dry and the heat hasn’t helped. I’ve been drinking lots of water and that likely does help, but my skin and face in particular are VERY dry and needy.
Any products you want to use next week?: I’m thinking about trying CeraVie hydrating serum since it’s receiving positive reviews and within my budget, but I really would like to find a near miracle hydrating face product, any advice (even if it were a little costly , but REALLY worked for mature skin)?

What was your favorite makeup look you wore this past week?: again, it’s been a gym day every day (thankfully the competition ends today) so my makeup has been pretty minimal and really nothing to “write home” about – Stila Oasis on lids, Sephora Cappuccino to line, concealer, sunscreen, Craving on lips… Most days, I quite literally forget to put on blush!!!
What was the hero product of the week for you?: Avene spray mineral water – I carry a small can with me at the gym and use it to “revive” when I’m really sweating.
Any products you want to use next week?: ABH Sultry palette. I’d forgot all about it until Genevieve mentioned it in one of her posts and I was like (lightbulb going off) – “Oh, yeah….I have that palette and haven’t used it since goodness knows when…”

What was your favorite makeup look you wore this past week?: many looks using NARS Summer Unrated. Love how versatile this palette is!

What was the hero product of the week for you?: ABH Brow Wiz, rem beauty eye balm and Sephora Big by Definition mascara

Any products you want to use next week?: Chantecaille Goa bronzer, NARS Summer Unrated, Valentino Rosa Emozione blush and Merit Lip Oil in Marrakech

What was your favorite makeup look you wore this past week?: a simple eye look with pmg bronze seduction VR fire opal and pmg DR II xtreme burgandy with a red melt eyeliner.
What was the hero product of the week for you?: the new laura mercier loose powder. I am impressed and choosing it over my cult favourite la mer original formula. Now to find a replacement for Tatcha pearl tinted eye illuminating treatment in shade.. so little left.
Any products you want to use next week? I do not tend to plan ahead. But I am loving cheek combo of Gucci bronzing powder in shade 05 and Chanel blush in brun roussi with PMG lunar nude.. it has become a go to.
