Marc Jacobs Beauty See-quins Glam Glitter Liquid Eyeshadow

Marc Jacobs Beauty See-quins Liquid Eyeshadow ($24.00 for 0.19 fl. oz.) is supposed to be long-wearing with “all-day, crease- and fallout-resistant sparkle” that you “swipe on and blend” for “instant, fuss-free dazzle.” They’re supposed to have “customiz[able]” coverage that can be sheered out or built up for “high-impact dazzle.” Some shades had more medium coverage while a few had semi-opaque to opaque coverage, and most of them were easy enough to sheer out for more of a wash of color.

The doe-foot applicator was comfortable to use but tended to over-apply the product, so I’d recommend using a separate tool to pick up product off the doe-foot applicator and then using that separate tool to apply the product to the eye area. The texture was more of a whipped mousse–airy but wet–that was quick to dry down to a long-wearing, crease- and transfer-resistant formula that didn’t suffer from fallout. I think if you were someone who accidentally rubbed your eye, it’s possible that a couple of sparkles or a small chunk of the product could flake off, but I didn’t experience flaking just wearing it over a 12-hour period.

As most of the shades had larger flecks of sparkle, they did not always build up in a flattering way; the finish can look somewhat chunky, almost raised or more textured on the lid, when built up (I would not go more than two layers), though in person I find that it’s harder to “see” that added texture.

I love the colours chosen for these liquid eyeshadows, but they do seem to be a lot of work to apply them properly, particularly with the applicator being so generous with the product. That was a good hint to use another fine brush to get the liquid off the applicator so you can apply it more precisely.
I think these liquid eyeshadows would add a dash of vibrancy to any eye look.

I just got Topaz Flash in the potted version and am in love with the shade! I like the ease of use with the ones in the jars from MJ, Hourglass and Tarte. The way you described having to take the extra step for application on the liquid ones sounds like something I won’t have time for on most mornings, so thank you for the heads up on that!
