So I have the LBD brush… I’m not sure it’s so great for powder. I can’t really tell that my foundation goes on, but when I take it off at night, it’s obviously there.

Maybe that’s the whole point, to make it look like there IS no foundation? 😮

I always use my finget but i love to blend with Sigma F84 or RT expert face brush. If i want something natural i use RT retractable bronzer to blend

If it’s liquid foundation I have to give that to Wayne Goss # 13. I purchased the Real Techniques and IT Cosmetics No. 302 LBD but I don’t find they work nearly as well as Wayne Goss. I have to say that his brushes have impressed me like no other.I gave away almost all my MAC brushes after purchasing his.

I see two questions posted Christine! Best primer for dry skin and best foundation brush 🙂

My favorite foundation brush is probably the Real technique stippling brush. It’s really the only one I have so I don’t have much to compare it to. It does the job so I haven’t needed to try others. I have a traditional flat brush but I think it applies foundation too heavily.

I love the Real Techniques Expert Face Brush, especially for serum foundations like Maybelline Dream Wonder Fluid-Touch Foundation, Armani Lasting Silk, and Dior Diorskin Nude Air. It gives a beautiful, non-streaky finish, and you can’t beat the price!

I really like the Real Techniques Expert Face brush (and it’s super affordable which is a plus), though my go-to is the Beauty Blender. I’ve been meaning to try out a few higher end foundation brushes once my budget allows it, though.

Mine used to be the sigma f80. Now, my HG is the Marc Jacobs foundation 2 brush. I use HG TM and it’s perfect and streak free!

Brush 01 from Wayne Goss. I would’ve picked number 13 if I could, but it was sold out already. I’m very chuffed with his brush 01. It delivers the most flawless finish I’ve ever experienced, I was truly impressed. It has become hard to reach for another brush now.

How is the expert face brush even used? It’s in my collection, but I’ve never known how its correctly used to get the most out of it!

I pat it in and then go back and buff it in. I love that it an get in the nooks and crannies of my face without having to pinch it together. Like between my brows. I was using my Sigma F80 when I first got it a few years ago and I almost took off the first half of my brows! Lol

Without a doubt, it’s the Shiseido foundation brush – that is my all time favourite. I also like (not nearly so much, though), the Sephora Professional #55 (though I wish they’d had the smaller one when I got mine) and also Real Techniques Expert Face Brush and also their Stippling Brush and since getting it (several years ago, now), I haven’t touched my MAC 130.

Tom Ford cream foundation brush. It can handle many different types of foundations, it can be used to sheer out or build up coverage, it never leaves streaks, it’s simply a great brush!

I always use the RT Expert Face Brush. I’m very happy with it and don’t have any particularly expensive foundation brushes to compare it to. I do hope to try some other fountain brushes at some point in case I come across a brush that I feel is a lot better and worth the price tag. 🙂

For liquid foundations, I use the Sigma F80. I know it’s a favorite of bloggers (which is where I first heard about it) but I really do like it because it doesn’t shed or make my foundation streaky. I use a combination of patting and buffing motions.

For mineral foundation, I use the e.l.f. studio kabuki face brush. It’s super soft, picks up product but doesn’t absorb it, and doesn’t deposit too much product all at once. It’s also $6 so you really can’t go wrong!

I have several including a pricey MAC one which is flat and definitely lays down too much foundation.
I get my best results now with the Sonia Kashuk No. 04 synthetic flat top multi-purpose brush. It is very similar to the RT stippling brush. I use it to buff out the foundation after applying either with my fingers or a cosmetic sponge. Works great with cream blushes as well.

I usually use my fingers or a beauty blender. I really like the brush that came with the Miracles from the Amazon 6pc. Collection with Bag from QVC. It’s super-soft and dense, and works great.

Samira Avatar

RT buffing brush or sigma F80. But honestly I use my fingers or beauty blender most often.

Very curious about the wayne goss mentioned above. The two I’ve bought of his have become invaluable already.

The IT Cosmetics dual ended Foundation and Concealer brush. And I hate dual end brushes. I think I like it better that the LBD Brush!

Melissa29 Avatar

I use the Chanel liquid foundation brush. You do not have to spend much for a good brush but wanted a brush that does not shed and that would last for awhile.

Carolyn Avatar

i was shocked I dropped $20 on the beauty blender but love it so much I ordered another one plus one to give to sis for Easter. That’s my fave right mow ( and the Dior one for the Dior air nude foundation )

Patting/stipple-stroking on liquid products looks best on me, I got beautiful results when the sales associate used the Sephora Collection #47 brush. I’m using my beauty blender until I can spare the $29. I own but am not a big fan of the RT Expert Face, since it’s shaped for buffing/sweeping which leaves me looking “crackly” compared to patting.

Even though Expert Face and TF’s 02 are supposed to be very alike I still want to try the #02 just to say I did!

My Real Techniques Expert Face Brush…hands down! It dense enough, it’s stiff enough, and it get’s the job done! I have about 4 or 5 of them.

Ade Avatar

• Chikuhodo GSN-5 for cream foundation;
• Koyudo fu-pa14 for powder/mineral foundation;
• Artisan & Artist SGP-21 for liquid foundation; or
• Koyudo fu-pa07-p if I need some buffing action.

Sigma F80 is, hands down, my favorite one. I use RT buffing brush a lot for BB creams or TM and I love it, but the sigma one is my favorite for all kind of liquid foundations and sometimes powder ones.
