Benefit Rain Check Longwear Powder Eyeshadow Review, Photos, Swatches
Benefit Rain Check Longwear Powder Eyeshadow
Benefit Rain Check Longwear Powder Eyeshadow ($20.00 for 0.11 oz.) is described as a “smoky amethyst.” It’s a cool-toned, muted purple with a smoky feel and a satin finish. Tom Ford Enchantress #3 is lighter. NARS 413BLKR #1 is warmer. theBalm rem is purpler. Giorgio Armani #27 is metallic. NARS Charade is very comparable–perhaps a smidgen darker.
Anyone who loves soft, smoky plum will like this; and if you tend to look for really bold, intense shades, you’re best skipping to another review. It had good pigmentation–enough to get close to the color seen in the pan but there was still some sheerness–and the texture was very soft, finely-milled, but also a little powdery. What I noticed was that wants to stay as a soft, slightly sheer color when applied; it doesn’t layer or build up to full color, and it softens and sheers out very readily if you use sweeping motions to blend it. I had the best results patting and lightly swishing along the edges only, because it helped to leave the bulk of the color alone. This shade lasted seven and a half hours when I wore it, but it was a little faded after eight hours.
This shade can also be found in Benefit’s Sexiest Nudes Ever Palette, which contains four eyeshadows and two Creaseless Cream Shadows for $30.00 (the eyeshadows are 0.04 oz. each, and the cream eyeshadows are 0.11 oz. each, but it’s still a way better deal than buying this eyeshadow on its own unless you LOVE this one and loathe all the others).

This shade looks gorgeous. Perhaps if these shadows were a bit cheaper I wold have given it a try…
the color is indeed sexy, but wont show much on me,still a good review to read
This somewhat reminds me of BBrown Heather, but maybe a bit darker and smokier. I love it! I’m really happy to see it is also part of the palette that includes Milk it which went on my wishlist following your review.
I love this eyeshadow color! It’s really pretty and sexy! I’m definitely going to add this to my summer makeup “must haves” 🙂
I love this kind of purple, though the fact that it’s not buildable is a big turn off!
Purple is my favourite colour when it comes to eyeshadow. $20 isn’t too bad either!
The last two pics are duplicated so the face picture is missing.
This is cute, but I don’t love purple on myself.
