Becca Petal & Burgundy Ultimate Lipstick Love Reviews & Swatches
Petal
Becca Petal Ultimate Lipstick Love ($24.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a medium pink with moderate, warm undertones and a creamy finish with a bit of a sheen. The texture felt lightweight, creamy without being overly heavy or thick, and it glided readily across my lips without tugging.
It had opaque color coverage in a single layer, though I felt like it could have applied a touch more evenly, especially along the edges of my lips. It stayed on nicely for four and a half hours and felt moisturizing while worn, though that was definitely quite shy of the eight-hours claimed (which brought down the overall rating noticeably but may not be a deal-breaker for most).

Formula Overview
$24.00/0.12 oz. - $200.00 Per Ounce
The formula is supposed to have an "ultra-creamy" texture with "eight-hour wear" and "pure color in one swipe." They're real bold with the "eight-hour wear" claim when it is a softer, creamier formula that's very comfortable to apply and to wear... and definitely not the longest-wearing formula I've come across--which is likely not a deal-breaker for those who aren't looking for long-wear.
The wear averaged between four and six hours with some of the deeper, richer shades (like a red or berry) lasting six hours or longer. They wore down evenly and were lightly to moderately hydrating while worn. The pigmentation was nearly opaque to opaque for most shades, and the majority of shades applied evenly and sat well on my lips without emphasizing my natural lip texture or settling into my lip lines.
They had a sweet, vanilla scent but no discernible taste.

Burgundy
Becca Burgundy Ultimate Lipstick Love ($24.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a medium-dark copper with soft, warm undertones and a luminous sheen. It seemed to have barely-there pearl that gave it a more luminous finish without being full-on shimmery.
It had opaque pigmentation in a single layer, which applied evenly and smoothly across my lips. The consistency was lightweight, creamy without being too slippery, and didn’t emphasize or settle into my lip lines. It wore well for five and a half hours and felt hydrating over time.

Burgundy isn’t….”burgundy”?
And even so, I really do love this one a lot! Especially for going into autumn, it’s just perfect!
My thoughts, exactly! Except I have 3 of the dupes so I guess I am covered. But I would love to hear the reasoning behind naming this Burgundy.
Petal isn’t at all the color I expected from the picture of the bullet. It looked like a deep medium-dark rose. Kinda disappointed actually.
I quite agree with Nancy above and was going to make the comment that ‘that was the most unusual burgundy I have ever seen’ Anyway, I love the shade of the lipstick.
