Becca Lantana Mineral Blush ($32.00 for 0.20 oz.) is described as an “ultra poppy crimson.” It’s a bold, brightened medium-dark orange with strong red tones and a golden satin sheen. MAC Fiery Impact (LE, $25.00) is lighter, more muted, warmer. Kevyn Aucoin Fira (P, ) is less shimmery, darker. NYX Cinnamon (P, $5.00) is less shimmery, lighter. theBalm Cobbler (P, ) is less shimmery, darker. ColourPop Squint (LE, $5.00) is less shimmery, lighter. Urban Decay Bang (P, $26.00) is less shimmery, lighter. See comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.

If you love your blush ridiculously pigmented and true-to-pan, then this blush might be up your alley! On the other hand, if you were hoping for the buildable formula that Becca describes, you’ll find this to be much too intense. The pigmentation is rich where you don’t need much (the barest tap of the brush on the surface yielded plenty of noticeable color on my cheeks), and the saving grace is the formula remained quite blendable, which is really a must with such an opaque shade as this one. The more I blended it out, the less orange and more of a warm red it looked on my skin tone, but it may look redder or more orange depending on your coloring. The texture was firmer and less dry compared to the shimmery shades, but it wasn’t stiff. The color stayed put for almost nine hours before there was any color breakdown.

Formula Summary | Becca Mineral Blush ($32.00 for 0.20 oz.) is supposed to be a “delicate powder blush” with a “buildable formula” that gives a “natural-looking, flushed appearance.” They typically have a soft, creamy consistency that is a little denser than the average powder but not truly dense. Some of the very shimmery shades feel a little dry compared to the more pearly ones. I found the formula to be incredibly easy to apply and blend on the skin without any need for special tricks; they felt very grab-and-go, the kind of blush where there’s no fight to diffuse and soften edges or get even coverage. They are more pigmented than what I’d term as “buildable,” which some will appreciate, some will be disappointed by. The wear ranges from seven to nine hours with the brighter and more satin-to-matte shades lasting longer. My favorite part of the formula is the luminous sheen they give to the skin, so they don’t look too shimmery on the skin. I think if you find Becca’s pressed highlighters to be too shimmery, you may find their blushes more up your alley with respect to finish.

On the other hand, it would seem to me this was designed for deeper skintones, and therefore would allow more opportunity to build up color, as it does also state “natural flush of color”, and while those with fairer skin *can* wear it, obviously it won’t look like a “natural flush”.

I have brown skin – nc42 in winter up to about nc44 in summer. There is no way I will build anything with that- I have to use a very light touch. So I can see why it gets the lower rating compared to how it is described!
I am glad to see the high ratings in the other categories!

Wowzers!!! That’s pretty! And really bright! Even though the swatch placed amongst its dupes appears more orange, on your cheeks it reminds me somewhat of ColourPop Jellyfish? Which, btw, is STILL sitting in my CP cart, waiting for Boba!

Hi Christine,

How do you rate pigmentation, because this blush has tons of it, but it got a 6.5. It is because it has too much? Lol Just curious. 😉

Everything is rated based on what the brand says it’s supposed to do, and Becca actually describes their blush formula as buildable coverage, so this is extremely intense (like one tap and it’s already opaque), which may be great for someone who likes their blush that way but isn’t in line with what the brand’s claims! 🙂

That is gorgeous. I don’t know if I could ever use a light enough hand for it to work on me, but this would be so stunning on warm, dark skin.

The swatch almost makes this look like a cream blush! I’m looking for a replacement “everyday blush” since NARS DC’d Douceur, and I’m liking the finishes on these. I definitely have to check them out next time I’m at Sephora (which is likely tomorrow, LOL!).

Hmm this or UD bang? I have both in my cart right now , but since they are similar I don’t need and can’t justify having both. Hmm this is going to be a tough decision lol.

Well, since technically I’m on a no-buy/low-buy , neither for now. But when I can buy makeup again, I think I am leaning towards Bang because it’s 6 dollars cheaper. 90 percent similarity is great to me lol.
