Gradient Glow

Becca Gradient Glow Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed ($38.00 for 0.25 oz.) mixes to yield a light-medium, peach gold with warm, orange undertones and a metallic sheen. The compact contains a strip of each of the following Shimmering Skin Perfectors: Bronzed Amber, Moonstone, Opal, Rose gold, and Topaz. I don’t find the size of each strip to be conducive to using any one shade on its own on the cheeks (you’d need a small eye brush), but feasibly, one could get a slightly richer, warmer result by focusing on the top half or a slightly pinker, light-medium in depth result using the lower half. It was, of course, easiest to use swirled together.

The consistency was soft, finely-milled, and blendable without being powdery or too densely-packed in the pan. It applied evenly to my cheekbones, diffused with minimal effort, and yielded a noticeable sheen but didn’t emphasize my skin’s natural texture. It had good color coverage, but the softness of the powder made it easy to diffuse for sheerer coverage or be used with a lighter hand for less coverage from the get-go. This shade wore well for eight and a half hours on me before fading a bit.

Formula Overview

$38.00/0.25 oz. - $152.00 Per Ounce

The Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed formula is described as having an "ultra-reflective shine" with a "creamy" texture that "applies seamlessly." In general, the texture of the highlighters is incredibly smooth, silky, and finely-milled with frosted to metallic finishes and the occasional more sparkly finish.

They tend to have a high-shine, more metallic finish and are a stronger highlighter, so they are going to be best suited to someone who likes an obvious highlight over a very subtle one. That being said, with a fan brush and a deft hand, one could certainly achieve a subtler, all-over luminosity as well, but if one takes a typical, tapered highlighting brush, there will be quite a bit of pigment and highlight on the skin.

I find that some shades can emphasize the look of pores slightly to moderately, depending on application. They tend to last between eight to nine hours on me.

I really love this. I am not sure about the shade as it might pull a bit too orange for me but I would like to give it a try. I am headed to town in two weeks so I will check it out then, assuming it gets to Montana by then! My daughter and I are always remarking about how long it takes for things to arrive in stores here.
