Becca Fig Beach Tint Review, Photos, Swatches
Becca Fig Beach Tint
Becca Fig Beach Tint ($25.00 for 0.24 oz.) is described as a “tea rose pink.” It’s a muted, neutral brown with a hint of rosiness and a saitn finish. Revlon Naughty Nude (006) (P, $9.99) is more shimmery, powder. Chanel Accent (84) (LE, $43.00) is more shimmery, more pigmented, powder. Kevyn Aucoin Natura (P) is warmer, powder. MAC Peachtwist (DC, $21.00) is more shimmery, powder. Burberry Earthy (P, $42.00) is darker, powder. Chanel Cheeky (79) (LE, $38.00) is similar but more pigmented. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
For a more detailed overview of the Beach Tint formula, check out my previous review here. To summarize, the formula is supposed to be a cheek-and-lip stain with sheer, natural-looking color. The formula separates inside the tube, so you can get an almost oily-like clear liquid squeezed out either with the color or before the color, so it needs to be mixed up. I like to turn it upside down and right-side-up, leaving it in each direction for about five minutes. This is, however, frustrating to deal with every time I squeezed product out (five separate occasions). It has a sweet, fruity scent that is strong while the product dries down, but it dissipates once dry. It is better as a cheek stain as a lip stain, as it is thin and clingy on the lips, looks dry, and emphasizes every imperfection on the lips. On cheeks, it has a much more natural finish that adds glowiness without being oily or dewy. Fig is a color I would recommend to fairer complexions than mine, as it takes three layers to get visible color to show on my skin tone (it’s just too close to my natural skin tone, it seems like it has the right pigmentation, but it’s the wrong color for my skin tone). The consistency is thin, liquid-like, almost watery but not quite. On lips, the product is noticeably tacky, though not thick, so at least it doesn’t feel glue-y, and lasts for three hours. On cheeks, it dries down after two to three minutes and has almost no tackiness once it sets, and the color wore well for seven hours on me.

On my Mac I can hardly see it on you! This has to be one for real pale skin tones
Yep, it’s like… my skin color but better, LOL! So I’m pretty much the worst model for it!
I love this product! I actually use it for a very subtle cheekbone contouring product (skintone is UD 3.5, for reference).
How do you apply it as a contour, Amanda? What tools?
I just dab it on and blend with my favorite tools – my fingers!
Thanks!
I also do so, and I only use my fingers. 😀
The separation issue with the Becca tints drives me nuts.
At least I’m not the only one, lol!
It does look a little dry on the lips but I love how it looks on your cheeks. The color is perfect! I wish it was more pigmented though
Good thing there are some darker shades in the range for our skin tones!
Ahhhh yes….another review of my fave stains. What I do to solve the dried out look on lips is apply just a smidge of clear lip gloss after the stain settles on lips.
That’s always a good way to help a drier lip product! 🙂 Thanks for sharing!
Interesting product. Might be too natural looking for me (much as I love the look I feel past the age of can you see it products). I do love the eye look you have in the second photo. Did I miss the products listed? What are you wearing on your eyes in the second photo!!!? Lovely!!!
YSL Avant Garde Palette, Stila Gilded Eyeliner.
Oooh thanks for the review. I just picked up a VIB Rouge Becca Beach Tint promo set which includes two blush/lip products and two eyeshadow products. This is not one of the cheek colours in the set and I’m rather glad since it looks so much like Chanel Cheeky to me in tone, but suspect this one would take a few layers to build up. I use Cheeky as a contour all the time. Anyhow the set does include the Raspberry cheek/lip product and it’s really flattering on my skintones. I also used it today on cheeks on my lips and then put a thin layer of plain Korres lip butter on top to keep it from drying out these desert lips. Anyhow, super quick and easy peasy and super happy with the product.
Also just wanted to add that I also picked up the Becca souffle (the potted cream blush) in Raspberry/Opal. I was going to pass on this since I already had Watermelon/Moonstone in the stash and in your review they looked very very similar. On me, however, these play out quite differently with the Raspberry/Opal pulling distinctively plummy/pink and Watermelon/Moonstone pulling red. I love both. I think skin undertones play a big part on how these read. The shimmer aspect definitely downplays the differences in the shades, but that just makes them subtle and part of the reason I love them so much. Perhaps this info is helpful for someone. I’m about NC20-25ish with neutral skintones.
I got the set as well, though I haven’t had a moment to photograph it yet.
Happy to hear that having Raspberry/Opal worked out for you! 😀
How disappointing!
I wish these didn’t separate!
Er, think I’ll pass on this one – on my skin this would make me look like I should be on a mortuary slab!
Maybe one of the darker tones would be a better fit!
It’s very close to my natural skin tone as well, barely shows up at all. I like the color, just wish it translated onto my skin
Same here!
My friend says these are great, but I think I’d want to try one of the more pigmented ones. Though this looks really nice and subtle on you.
I’d probably start with a darker one and work your way to lighter, if it’s something you want to try!
Oh, this excites me! You look fab, and I’m so in love with these by Becca!!! YAY!!!!!!
Tip: Can easily layer seamlessly to deep color! I LOVE TO SET these with a big brush (Marc Jacobs 2 bronze brush) and press Nars Light Reflecting Loose Setting Powder! It does not change or alter makeup or colors and it gently presses that color so you look effortlessly put together longer! It works magically over Becca Beach Tints! 😀
I kept layering, but it never got really darker, just the same color as it looks if you squeezed it out!
I think it’s perfect on the cheeks for a no makeup makeup look.
Definitely, especially if you are fair or light!
looks almost like skin on you… but I like the dewiness on the cheeks <3
Yep, it is very close to my skin color! Bad for modeling!
It’s sad that this doesn’t perform better! I ordered the Souffles based on your reviews, Christine, and so far I’m enjoying them! My wallet thanks you though that I won’t be purchasing this Beach Tint :).
I thought I might like these more than the Souffles, but I loveeeeee the Soufofles a lot more.
color hardly shows on u
but I love the glow 🙂
It is better suited for a fairer skin tone!
That’s a bummer that your beach tints have separated. I have 3 of them and I’ve never have any separation. I adore mine and prefer to wear them on my lips. I love the even long wearing stain I get with two layers. I will say, I don’t like the shade fig at all, it’s much too brown on my fair, neutral coloring. Watermelon and raspberry are dynamite though!
Both shades I have do it, and they do it every time I use them (even if I’ve mixed them, stood them up, etc.) 🙁
Wow! I wish this performed better as a lip product, because it makes an amazingly natural ‘nude’ lipstick for you in colour! I’d be very interested to swatch this on my own A4 paper white skin to see how it turned out (if we had BECCA here, *sigh* :-P).
Maybe it would be a contour on you 😉
What eyesshadows did you use in the second picture ? It’s so pretty.
Here you go!
THE MAKEUP LOOK
On face: Guerlain Parure de Lumiere, Urban Decay Naked Loose Finishing Powder, Makeup Geek Summer Fling and Makeup Geek Romance Blush. On eyes: YSL Avant Garde Palette, Stila Gilded Eyeliner.
Hmm, I’m underwhelmed by this product. I’m surprised at the B rating after reading your review. Even though I have pale skin, I wouldn’t want to be dealing with a formula separating. It washes out your pretty complexion!
It’s definitely frustrating!
