Just a Sheer Tint of Color

bareMinerals Amped Pink Loud & Clear Lip Sheer ($15.00 for 0.07 oz.) is described as a “sheer fuchsia pink.” When swatched, it was a sheer medium pink–it read neutral, almost yellow-toned, even though it certainly looked fuchsia in the tube. On lips, it made my lips look brighter, pinker, and generally kept the corpse-lip look at bay. It has a soft shine to finish it off. NARS Beverly Hills is slightly darker.

The formula has a really nice glide-on texture that’s not sticky, too wet/slick, and is very comfortable to wear. It adds hydration to lips not just during wear but beyond it, too, and after wearing it for half a day or longer, I can get away with not reaching for another lip balm for at least as long. As described, the color is sheer and just a tint of color, so it acts as a lip stain/lip balm hybrid. Amped Pink wore for three hours on me. There is a noticeable sweet, orange scent and flavor, though the flavor is less noticeable.

I only wear glosses, this is lovely but I typically prefer a bit more color. The hydration is selling me on this right now. I’m confused…I just checked Sephora and they have exact same item, size, color, price but the tube says “Remix Loud & Clear Lip Shear”. Is it the same?

I love this sort of product, but again, no SPF makes it not worth the price… There are just too many on the market that do have it, and for less money, that are comparable. I feel the brand is juist cutting back on the quality since they’ve established a following with the Ready Wear line.

Ive loved this! And can I ask u a kinda unrelated question but u have to answer me girl !
I’m a tan skinned girl like u ! Does Mac’s ” girl about town ” lipstick look good on a tan girl and doesn’t make her even tanner? I want it so bad but I’m afraid ill look even tanner but I love it , what do advise me to do?

I thought these would be along the same lines as the Clinique Almost Lipsticks… A lot more sheer than I was expecting. I know they’re marketed as sheer but come on…

If these had a *bit* more color I’d be all over them; I love tinted lip balms for my workday, because I’m usually drinking something (tea or water) and these are easy to slick on and go. So I’m tempted by the berry, since it had some color to it. For this, I’d do just as well with the Fresh Rose lip balm.

I got this in all 3 shades and I really like this product. My lips are already pretty pigmented, so I like sheer balms for a more natural look and it’s also the texture of this product that makes it stand out. The scent is very pleasant, it doesn’t dry out my lips and it leaves behind a nice subtle stain. Some people may not get this product, but I’m really enjoying it for all of those reasons.
