Anastasia Tamanna Eyeshadow Palette Review, Photos, Swatches
Anastasia Tamanna Eyeshadow Palette
Anastasia Tamanna Eyeshadow Palette ($29.00 for 0.25 oz.) includes ten eyeshadows that range from warm beige to bluish-teal to cranberry to taupe. This is one of the better Anastasia palettes I’ve come across, as the eyeshadows were more consistent in texture and payoff–they weren’t as dry as past palettes I’ve tried from the brand. All except one shade wore well for eight hours, and there was really only shade that was a bit of a let-down (but not a total miss).
Fresh is a light beige with neutral-to-warm undertones and a matte finish. It’s somewhat powdery, but it had decent pigmentation. See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.
Blush is a golden champagne beige with warm undertones and a frosted, metallic finish. The texture was a smidgen dry, but it was soft, blendable, and had good color payoff. See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.
Venezia is a subtly, gold-shimmered bluish-teal with a faded quality and a frosted finish. It was prone to fading, and it was a more powdery, drier textured eyeshadow. See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.
Gilded is a bronze-shimmered brown with warm undertones and a metallic finish. It had great pigmentation with a soft, blendable texture that was a smidgen dry. As a heads up, this really seemed just like Topaz with a new name. See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.
Custom is a taupe brown with subtle, warm undertones and a frosted finish. It had nice pigmentation, and the consistency was fairly soft, though a little dry feeling. See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.
Sangria is a vibrant, berry-plum with warm, copper-orange undertones and a frosted sheen. It had fantastic color payoff with a soft, buttery-smooth consistency. See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.
Bengal is a medium brown with warm, orange undertones and a satin-matte finish. It had good color payoff with a soft, blendable texture that was somewhat powdery. This also seemed like Caramel, just renamed. See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.
Chocolate is a medium-dark, warm-toned brown with a matte finish. It had good pigmentation, but it was a little dry. See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.
China Rose is an orange-coral (just a hint of pink/red in it) with a golden, frosted finish. It had decent color payoff, but it was on the dusty side. (P, $6.00) See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.
Noir is a deep, matte black. It had good color payoff, but it was harder to blend. See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.

Anastasia Tamanna Eyeshadow Palette
Anastasia Tamanna Eyeshadow Palette
Oh wonderful….there I was feeling all righteous because the earlier palette was such an easy “skip”. NOW – not so easy! And I used to have an absolutely wonderful student named Tamanna! She was in my ESL Foods class and was such an eager learner (not just in Food but in learning English generally) that it wasn’t long before she was in with regular classes! If this becomes available at the Sephora stores nearest me (they both have a pretty limited collection of Anastasia stuff and most of it is the classic brow stuff), I am very likely to cave for this! Well, I felt righteous for all of 5 minutes!
LOL! At least it’s only $29 – that’s what I like most about Anastasia palettes, so I’m always rooting for them a little!
HA!! – try $35 here (and then a bunch of whopping sales tax on top of THAT!!) Still, I might check it out, though (big surprise) once again I’ve got dupes for the shades I like best in the palette. Actually, the price is really good (even here in Canada) and if the amount of product is smaller, I don’t mind since I’ve yet to finish an eye shadow!
They’re about half the size of most eyeshadows (0.025 oz. each, as compared to 0.05 oz.), but plenty o’ product, I’m sure 😉
I like the colors and quality in this palette better the the Maya Mia. Still, I think I have dupes for all of these shades.
Yes, definitely a better palette for quality with Tamanna – but both palettes are more dupable than not!
I think the shades in the bottom row of this palette are particularly pretty. I love the look you created!
Thank you, Erin! 😀
I have this one and reach for it a lot!
Awesome! Any must-try combos?
I wish that I had purchased this palette, it’s quite original!
It’s still available!
I don’t care much for the packaging, but the colors all look really lovely.
Not a fan of cardboard packaging?
This looks quite nice. I haven’t indulged in any Anastasia palettes, but this one caught my eye. That sangria shade is lovely.
Do you think you’ll look for it in store?
I might…. Maybe if ulta offers some bonus points in the upcoming weeks. I considered getting it with my 20% off coupon, but I passed.
Definitely not really interested in either of these Anastasia palettes. I look at these and can picture the skin that would make these come alive, but it’s not mine.
Totally hear what you’re saying! 🙂
Me too!
I’m picking this up soon and I’m so excited! 😀
Woohoo! 🙂
Colors are lovely.
Glad ya liked it, Pat!
I got this mainly for sangria and gilded, but it’s become one of my most reached for palettes. Love the look you created too!
Awesome! What combos do you like most?
Sangria and China rose, with chocolate in the outer V, sangria and gilded, sangria on both the outer and inner corners with blush in the middle of the lid, can you guess which is my favorite shade? 😀
I can see why Sangria is a fave!
Of the 3 (Amrezy included), I like this one best. That said, it’s still too dupable, especially with the Holidays coming up, to justify buying…
For someone who doesn’t have a lot of palettes or eyeshadows, it might be nice, but anyone with more than a few neutral palettes is likely covered.
This palette looks a lot more fun than the other one.
I like quite a few of these shadows, but I have dupes for them. I really, really like Sangria a lot. I have more than one that are good enough dupes though, among them Plum Dressing. I’m the kind of persom who picks up All That Glitters and Honesty, thinking oh, pretty and then realising I have it already. Same with plummy colours.
Very pretty look you did.
The color is so striking, but it is funny how there are quite a few just like it out there!
I can’t find this one anywhere! :/
Sephora & Anastasia both have it in stock. Beautylish says it’ll be back.
The colours in this palette just feels more “me” – the price makes this such a good value and hopefully it will become available in time for the upcoming VIB Rouge sale!
Fingers crossed! It is available now, so hopefully it stays that way!
I like Sangria and Vienzia. I wish I could go back to Venice.
Aww!! Maybe it’s time to plan a trip 🙂
I can’t wait to get this. Saw totalmakeupjunkie101 review this on YouTube and I said I have to have it. I am really happy it got a good review from you as well. I think the colors will look amazing on my skin tone (NC 45) and it will make a great travel palette. I can create a lot of looks with this one palette. Glad it has a variety of eyeshadow finishes.
Enjoy your palette, Mary! 🙂
What I really like about you Christine is how neutral and objective you are. So when you say something is bad or good, I’m like ok, I should or shouldn’t try this. So many Youtube makeup guru’s literally fawn over Anastasia products, especially the eye shadow pallets. I get the price point is relatively low, but I have yet to see anything that merits the praise these things get. Do you see this as being more catered to the Youtube crowd, kind of like how Motives cosmetics is?
I’m not familiar with Motives, to be honest! I think the past three palettes have been collaborations with influencers from both platforms as well, so I would imagine there is some attention paid to create combinations that would appeal to those fans/audiences.
Ugh, I have such a dilemma right now. I bought this palette at 20% off from Ulta because I saw so many gorgeous looks using it on Instagram, but once I got it home, I realized I own several similar shades, especially since I bought Vice 3 too. (Sangria looks like Alchemy with Sonic patted on top.) I own MUG Cosmopolitan, UD Blackout, UD Freeze, UD Smog, UD Mugshot… Basically, I have passable dupes for all of the shades except for Bengal and Chocolate, so did I just pay $23.20 for two eyeshadows? I can’t decide if I should return it or not. D:
Do you know if the ABH single eyeshadows are going to include colors from the palettes?
I really have no idea if they will or not, but Bengal seems like a color they put in nearly every palette.
But would you use the palette on its own? Would you travel with it? Do you like the shades that are in it MORE than the dupes you have?
Tamanna would travel easier than Vice 3, and I do like Sangria better than having to mix two shades together.
I’m so strange. It doesn’t even bother me that I paid for dupes, because in the end, the palette is very reasonably priced. I’m more irked that I wasted storage space in my train case on dupes. Storage > $$
yes they will:)
I really like the colors in this palette. I’m surprised I haven’t ordered this yet lol
Is this palette a bit of a dupe of the other one? The colours look similar, however it great to read that the quality is much better in this palette. I am just wondering why the aqua colour was chosen for your autumn instead of a really lovely teal.
There are a few similar shades from palette to palette for sure!
I really like this palette but I have yet to pull the trigger and get it, I feel like Im always on the fence with it. Maybe cuz there are so many things I want to get & it probably just keeps being pushed down the list. I picked up the Vice & Naked 3, Choc bar & the Gravitas this yr, do you think I might already have dupes & mybe this should be a pass for other things..?
I think you could pass, honestly!
I feel like I need to do a look with the colours of Venezia and China Rose now… although I only own Venezia colours. Nuts. 😉
Your look is so pretty! The colours blend in very nicely together without getting muddy! 😀
Thanks for reviewing these! I don’t think I’ll be getting any of the ABH palettes that have come out thus far but do see myself picking up some of these shades as singles. I think that the palettes built of singles shades releasing before the singles themselves was a genius idea to introduce people to Anastasia’s new eyeshadow formula.
I have an old palette that I love and thought I would love this too…but I’m experiencing so much fall out! I’m really debating returning it for the vice 3 or it cosmetics naturally matte.
What colors did you use for this look? Love it!
