Anastasia Gleam Eyeshadow ($12.00 for 0.06 oz.) is a bright, pop of warm peach with orange undertones and a frosted, lightly metallic finish. Anastasia RTW Eyeshadow ($12.00 for 0.06 oz.) is a medium brown with warm, orange undertones and a satiny shimmer. It had decent color payoff, though the texture was on the dusty, thinner side, so some of it sheered out as soon as it was applied. I liked it best as a transition/blending shade, as the opacity was less of a concern, but if you want to use it as a lid or intense crease color, I would recommend pairing with an eyeshadow primer. It lasted for seven and a half hours on me. Tom Ford Beauty Disco Dust #2 (PiP, ) is darker, cooler (95% similar). Urban Decay Dormouse (LE, $19.00) is lighter (95% similar). Anastasia Dark Chocolate Shimmer Eyeshadow ($12.00 for 0.06 oz.) is a deep, chocolatly brown with warm, copper undertones and a smattering of copper shimmer. The texture was just dense enough that a lot of the finer shimmer was visible when applied, though some of the shimmer shifts as it is blended. It had great color payoff, was fairly blendable, and applied well to bare skin overall. It lasted just over eight hours on me before fading noticeably. Guerlain Metal Butterfly #1 (PiP, ) is less shimmery (95% similar). YSL Fetiche #3 (LE, ) is less shimmery (95% similar). Too Faced Tempting (PiP, $16.00) is less shimmery, cooler (95% similar). FORMULA OVERVIEW | Anastasia Eyeshadow ($12.00 for 0.06 oz.) is supPosed to be a “finely-milled, highly-pigmented” powder eyeshadow. The brand has a large range of individual eyeshadows that are available as pan-only (no compact to hold them); if you purchase four, you’ll get a 4-well plastic palette for $40 ($10 per eyeshadow), or purchase eight and get an 8-well cardboard palette for $70 ($8.75 per eyeshadow) (the 8-pan is only available directly from the brand). On average, the formula is semi-opaque to opaque, lightly dusty to buttery, wears seven to nine hours, and is fairly blendable. The Metallic and Titanium finishes seem to be the best-performing to me, but there are some really standout mattes and shimmers as well. I find the more recently released shades to be better-performing compared to Anastasia eyeshadows I tried two or three years ago. The wear varies between six and eight hours with decent to good application over bare skin (no primer).

I have Gleam and it’s gorgeous copper peach shade on my pale skin. I also still want Soft Gold eve though it’s very dupable.
Gleam is sooo lovely!
I have been waiting for you to review these colors! I have been wanting to purchase soft gold and gleam. So glad they did well. Thank you, Christine?
No problem, Tammy!
I have really been happy w/ the Anastasia products that I’ve purchased. I used to think they were only eyebrow products but, lately, I have seen a more broad range available at Sephora and Macy’s. The pigment in the Glow Kits and lip glosses/liquid lipsticks are outstanding, in my opinion, so I suspect these shadows are great, as well. Thanks for reviewing!
That is so good to hear, Mary Ann! I have liked a lot of the more recent eyeshadows I’ve bought from them as well as the Glow Kits!
Ooh! Gleam might be a slightly passable dupe for Too Faced Luscious from the Sweet Peach palette. It’s always such a pleasure to use Luscious, and I really want to have a similar eyeshadow in single pan form. MAC All That Glitters seems decent, but I think Anastasia Gleam might be better. Yay!
I bet it is quite close!
Pretty colors, very workable.
Agreed!
My fave is Dark Chocolate Shimmer ! It’s so gorgeous
It’s very rich!
I love the gold sparkles in Dark Chocolate Shimmer. Very pretty!
Me too! I like how some of them actually ARE visible on!
Gleam is quite lovely. I’m not sure I could wear it as it’s a little orange but it looks great!
I bet you could 😉
I’ve had Gleam since these shadows launched at Sephora and I absolutely love it. Coincidentally, I am wearing it today. I wanted to get Dark Chocolate Shimmer but they don’t carry it in-store (even though their website indicates it is an “in store” shade, I think) so I got Truffle Glitter instead and I like it a lot but would still like to get Dark Chocolate Shimmer.
Gleam is so versatile! I feel like it brightens the eye a lot.
Not excited by this palette. I own enough very similar colors. So, it’s a pass for me.
Lucky for you! 🙂
These are really gorgeous everyday kind of colours that you could wear to work. Great ratings and a lovely eye look Christine. Yes they are dupable, but with the purchase of individual favourite colours, you can get exactly what you need.
Thank you as always, Genevieve!
What a nice looking quad! This is what I personally love about self-made palettes as opposed to pre-made, getting to pick the shades you know you like together, thus insuring one will actually use all the shades. Out of these 4, ones I don’t believe I have a dupe for (although I probably DO and just don’t know it!) are Dark Chocolate and Gleam. All these shades work together very nicely.
SO true! I love a really good pre-made one, but what works for me doesn’t necessarily work for someone else!
Dark Chocolate Shimmer is a stunning shade 🙂
Agreed!
