MAC recently launched Viva Glam VI Lipstick in a Special Edition to line up with Fergie as their spokesperson for the Viva Glam campaign. Some people have been finding this color to run a little on the purple side, but it runs mostly pink on me. Like many of the other VG lipsticks/lipglasses, the color is great for most people. I think it’s a nice everyday color with a bit of a pop.

I’ve been dying to get into the store to snatch this up if it works on me. I love it on you! I have REDDD lips, is it opaque enough for the colour to actually show and cover up a bit of my red?
It’s medium-opaque. I think it would end up looking cute on you, though. 🙂 I’d say give it a shot in-store if you can test it there before splurging, since it’s not super super opaque!

Do you think it has more pink than the usual VG shades? It seems like the pink might make it slightly more wearable for every day than some of the past VG shades.
I think it’s a little more pink 🙂 The other VG shades tend to be a little more neutral.

VI SE lipglass is kind of a neutral dirty pinkish color.
This looks like a great colour and its for a great cause 🙂 I just bought viva glam 2 lipstick which I love as a great neutral colour but is this new lipstick a lustre or a satin?
I’m actually not sure of the finish, I gotta go look it up!

how does this one wear? does it last for a substantial amount of time? does it dry out your lips?
It feels and lasts like a typical MAC lipstick, which is several hours for me. It doesn’t dry out my lips, though none of MAC’s lipsticks do this for me!

It looks great on you! One question: did you apply straight from the tube (and if so how many layers), with a brush, or some other method?
I applied from the tube, and I’d say two layers if I had to put it in layers!

Wow EVERYONE SHOULD PICK UP A VIVA GLAM lipstick or lipgloss. Its for a GOOD CAUSE! AIDS! Remember when you purchase an V.G. product you are making a different in someones life who is LIVING with HIV/AIDS. Help the fight! These products should be wore with PRIDE! You are making a different, in a small but ever so needed way. I shall be picking up a FEW for me and my sister/girlfriends.

I think it’d look purple on my very pigmented lips. I want to get a VG lipstick though, one that would look more neutral on me.
Viva glam V is a good one thats neutral.
Maybe try one of the other VGs, even VG VI (not SE)!
I have it and i love it! I usually wear a bit of lipgloss over it just to make it pop a bit more

wow! it looks warmer on my lips…weird how different it looks on different people.
I have syrup also, and compared together, they look almost identical, but viva glam vi se is a tad warmer and rosier than syrup.

The color looks so much lighter then how it does on the tube. Looking at the tube I’d think I’d never get it but looking at the swatch on your lips, it’s such a pretty pink!

I saw this the day it came out but didn’t even swatch it. Now I am going to go back today and check it out. The MAC Pro is right below my office, which is terrible and great at the same time! LOL
I am interested to see if it comes out the same color on my lips as I am very fair and I would LOVE for it to look the same on me!

I swatched it on my hand last night at my local counter. I’m seriously thinking of going back for it. I love how it looks like a lipgloss, but have the longevity of a lipstick. I accidently swatched viva glam III too & I still have it on my hand after washing my hand countless times.
