MAC Triple Impact Extra Dimension Eyeshadow
MAC Triple Impact Extra Dimension Eyeshadow ($21.00 for 0.07 oz.) is described as an “opalescent lavender with violet pearl.” It’s a cool-toned lavender with a frosted finish and lavender shimmer. MAC Amethyst is warmer and much more sparkly. OCC Datura is very similar in color but has a smoother sheen. MAC Light Voilet is pinker and has larger sparkles.
This shade had sheer color when applied dry, and when applied damp, the color was buildable to semi-opaque payoff–noticeably translucency but a fair amount of color. With enough patting and packing on of the color, mostly opaque color is possible. It had a slightly dry consistency, and I actually felt this shade was not as soft or as blendable as the others–it tended to stick in places, especially when I used it damp. If I applied it dry, then it was more blendable, but it was so sheer that it was hard to get really even color. When I wore Triple Impact, it wore for six hours well, but it was slightly faded after seven hours (but it’s only marketed as six-hour wear).

MAC Extra Dimension Eyeshadows: Opalesse, Triple Impact, Smoky Mauve
Is Triple Impact shade or Opalesse similar to Seedy Pearl at all?
Closer to Opalesse I’d say but not as beige, not quite as iridescent!
Thank you! 🙂
This looks so much like Opalesse that I think most people (well, me and probably a lot of others) wouldn’t feel the need to purchase both.
Based on your first pictures, I thought this might be similar to OCC Datura. They’re both described as opalescent lavender with pearl.
Do you like Datura better than Triple Impact? I’m wondering if the iridescence makes Triple Impact more unique or if it’s pretty much the same as Datura.
Thanks for the quick reviews Christine!
I like Datura better, because it is more finely milled/smoother!
Does it compare at at to the pinky shade in the Tom Ford Enchanted Palette?
I missed out on it so am trying to find dupes in single shadows.
This is cooler-toned, more of a duochrome!
How does this compare with Mac’s ready to party and young venus?
It’s purpler than Ready to Party and Young Venus – closer to Ready to Party than Young Venus.
