We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Thank you for understanding!

A few times on Nordstrom. But it seems like so many beauty reviews are incentivized it hard to to get a straight answer (looking at you Sephora).
Skincare is so personal that I normally just try the product without looking at reviews.
Sure, why not. If it can help someone decide along with other reviews if it’s a product worth or not worth buying, I think it’s the nice thing to do. I’m not THAT busy to give back.
I used to leave them on Sephora’s site until they changed things and you can’t even see your own reviews any longer, let alone anyone else’s (eg if there’s a review from someone whose reaction to a product is similar to yours, you can no longer see what else they’ve purchased and reviewed). I do leave reviews at Makeup Alley – I find them to be a pretty informative site. And I often leave my opinions here too but it’s different here – it’s more like a conversation among friends…
I do mainly on SpaceNK as you get points for doing so. And I get £10 for doing a certain amount of reviews. I only review products I have sampled or bought.
I have left a couple before, usually on the website of where I purchased the product. I am one of those people who reads the reviews, specifically the BAD ones. I want to see what people are complaining about before making my decision on an item lol.
I’m the type to leave reviews, as I feel like it’s important to counter the avalanche of incentivized reviews. The majority of reviews I’ve left have been on Sephora (Ulta’s review UI is absolutely awful), with other reviews left on AB sites (Amazon, YesStyle, Chicdecent) when appropriate. I’ve left equal amounts good, bad, and meh reviews.
I like very well document e consumer reviews so I try to do my part. I leave reviews here, directly on the brand website, sometimes Sephora.
Only very, very rarely! It’s either due to a product being absolutely STELLAR in performance (or solving a problem for me that I believe may be helpful for someone else dealing with the same issue), or a scathing one for something truly horrid or that caused a pretty significant allergic reaction.
As a general rule, no. The only exceptions are if something is particularly bad or exceptionally good, so maybe two or three times in the course of my makeup using life. I did leave a review regarding a CBD oil on Sephora and basically recommending that people patch test. Following my use and break-outs I have patch tested everything since, including shampoo’s and conditioners. Even if you are a user of cannabis the concentrated oil can still cause a reaction or break-outs. I was miserable for a few days and looked like I had been beat up so I learned my lesson.
I used to leave them on Sephora but that website is awful for prioritizing paid reviews and having actual reviews – that are usually not 5 star with lots! of! exclamation! points! – downvoted into oblivion that I stopped bothering. It’s also why I stopped buying from them, because you can’t trust the reviews.
I sometimes do for indie brands on their own websites.
I used to on Sephora and brand websites, but the whole feedback thing has gotten so crooked that I don’t bother.
I like to leave detailed reviews of why I like/dislike the product so people can be aware of the pros/cons of the product. I like to read the negative reviews so that I can make an informed decision.
I left lots of reviews on Makeup Alley but sadly that is not very active anymore, though once or twice a year I’ll review something that really impressed me. I don’t buy much makeup now but I miss the old days on MUA.
I still leave a lot of reviews on Makeup Alley. I think the site was “sold on” a few years ago and became really troublesome for quite some time (features not working, etc.). It’s got better now but still not great but I do love reading reviews and posting reviews there helps me track what I’ve purchased and loved in past (Temptalia’s Vanity feature is similar and easier to use but it’s “different”). Lately, a number of reviews at MUA have been outright nonsense, business promotions or promotions for escort sites, etc. and I always report them but they’re still there days later….that’s distressing. But I still like going there and reading reviews for items I’m thinking of purchasing (or new reviews for products I’ve bought and loved in the past).
Very rarely. I left one for a cream from Amazon that was going viral. It’s hard to tell anything from the reviews anymore.
No I don’t – because the website concerned wants so much information about you and I am concerned about hackers and scam artists. It’s only here that I post reviews.
It depends on my mood, honestly. I feel like it might be worthwhile to give a review on a brand’s own site, especially if I think I’ll use the points, but many times I still don’t. I, too, am unsure how useful reviews are anymore.
Only if something’s exceptionally good … or exceptionally bad
