NARS Silvana Blush Review, Photos, Swatches
NARS Silvana Blush
NARS Silvana Blush ($29.00 for 0.16 oz.) is described as a “natural peach terracotta.” It’s a medium peachy brown with warm undertones and a pearly finish. NARS Madly is a touch browner, less warm-toned. MAC Lush-Light Bronze is browner and more matte. MAC The Soft Meow is browner, less warm-toned. MAC Other Worldly is more shimmery and orange.
It has good color payoff, though I’d say it’s less intense compared to some other famous (infamous?) NARS blushes by just a notch–so you won’t have to fear over-applying the color or having to use a light hand with a stippling brush. The texture is soft, finely-milled but not powdery, so it applies smoothly and evenly on the skin without looking powdery or heavy. Silvana wore well for eight hours, and after nine, there was some noticeable fading. It blends out readily, and for light-medium and darker complexions, a very easy-to-wear, hard-to-overdo kind of color. On my medium complexion, it adds warmth and a touch of color but nothing too much or obvious.
I like brown-based blushes for any look that I’m not sure about a blush color for, because they add some definition and dimension without adding too much color. It has a light shimmer, so the finish is somewhat luminous but not shimmery or frosty; it didn’t emphasize pores or any underlying imperfections of the skin.

Really pretty!! Love NARS blushes 🙂
What’s your fave?
Beautiful colour! The brown undertones make it look different to most other peachy blushes.
Definitely a bit browner!
Hi Christine,
I have fair-medium skin with yellow undertones. Do you think I can use this as a contour/bronzing powder. I feel like most bronzers look too dark or too orange on my skin.
Thanks,
PJ
I think it could work as a bronzer!
May I ask why you are often not wearing eye makeup in pictures recently, Christine? Is it a reason like allergies or you just don’t feel like it?
To highlight the blush/lip product without being distracting. I put on eye makeup to test after I’m done with these photos.
And I love that you’ve decided to showcase the product(s) this way.
Thanks Christine!
Me too, I agree! =)
That didn’t even cross my mind! Clever idea though!
looks amazing on you! great natural glowy look!
Thanks, Reena!
Christine, which blush would you say lasts the longest? tarte blushes? please recommend, as i cant seem to find a blush that lasts longer than 2 or 3 hrs!
Tom Ford’s blushes last a really long time on me; Guerlain’s do pretty well. Le Metier de Beaute’s are also nice! Tarte’s are about 8-9 hours on me (which is better than average) – not the full 12 though.
Do cream blushes generally last longer than powder blushes?
It will depend on your skin, IMO!
I’ve had varying results with different brands, but I find cream blushes tend to fade away faster unless you follow up with a setting powder.
Looks good, you look very fresh-faced in the pictures. I don’t tend to reach for brownish blushes myself. I always go for pinks, corals and peaches. But maybe I should get myself a brownish one.
Thank you!
This is one of those colours I personally completely steer clear of, but of course, what does not look good on you, Christine? 😀 My go to brown don’t know what blush to wear is MAC for Gareth Pugh Strada which is great for light cool or neutral skintones.
Strada is great 🙂
I have been slowly integrating more NARS into my collection because I love the quality of the products and simple aesthetics of the packaging. I usually use bronzer daily, but can sometimes find it too harsh on my very pale skin. This blush would be a great replacement for that. Thanks for reviewing this product! 😀
My pleasure, Wilcoa!
Thanks Christine for the review, looks like you have been reading my mind..first for Maybelline Shocking Coral, and now NARS Silvana. Its looking so perfect on your skin!
Haha! 🙂
I didn’t expect to like this, but it looks surprisingly good both on your cheeks and arm swatches. This might be my next NARS blush.
If it is, you have to let me know how you like it!
How does it compare to coppetone by MAC?
I don’t think I have Coppertone 🙁
That looks lovely on you Christine! I don’t think it would suit my fair skin…
Thank you!
It looks so natural and gorgeous on you, Christine! A perfect match.
Thanks so much, Tigerlily!
This looks like the perfect blush to blend with a Bronzer. I may have to test this beauty out!
It would work well with a bronzer!
LOVE Nars blushes, they are my favorite. They go on like a dream!
What NARS blushes would you recommend to a NARS newcomer?
Nars Luster and Nars Madly.
This is a lovely colour, perfect compliment to red lipsticks. But every time I have something applied at the NARS counter my skin breaks out.
Oh no!
And here comes another. Haha! I have to check Silvana out this weekend. 😀
Let me know what you think!
Love this! I like to look at your photos first because your skin tone is similar to mine (I think I’m slightly lighter). I thought the color would wash you out but it gives a lot of subtle dimension. Pretty!
Yep – it’s a great subtle blusher 🙂
That looks really pretty! I need something that color. Very natural looking. Do you know if they will ever have this at Nordstrom or Sephora?
I’m not sure – online I could only find it at NARS & Beauty.com!
I really appreciate the little to no eye makeup you’ve been doing lately for some of your face swatches that don’t (obviously) involve eye shadows lol. It allows the blush or lipstick to remain the focal point of the review which is how it should be in my opinion.
OT: I am wondering if you can recommend a good liquid eye liner? I am interested in getting one that’s good value for the money (so I used your price comparison pdf for that) but I also don’t want any of those formulas that ‘flake’ off like MAC Superslick, for example. Can you think of one off the top of your head that doesn’t have a flaky formula? Thanks in advance!
What about Milani’s Infinite? Those are just liquid, and they’re reminiscent of MAC’s Liquidlast liners (which were amazing). Pre-flake formulas!
Thanks, Christine. We don’t have a full selection of Milani where I live in Canada but I’ll keep it in mind the next time I go across the border shopping.
I looove this blush and i think that is perfect for me, because my name is Silvana XD
I visit your blog everyday! I follow you from Italy! Have a nice day! 🙂
Thank you, Silvana! 😀
This looks lovely on you! I have to thank you for doing the reviews of NARS blushes, It is so helpful! I cant wait to see your impressions on Taos, I bought it a couple of months ago and I really like it, although I have to be careful to not over do it. For a more neutral look I use either Douceur or Luster, but this is a very nice option!
Thanks so much, Rafaela! So glad it’s been helping 🙂
wow, that’s a beautiful shade! Will go well with a no-makeup look I’ll go buy this next time.
I hope you love it, Prudence!
Hi, I am very pale. Will it work on my skintone?
Yes, I think so!
Does NARS have any “true peach” blushes? This seems like maybe it would be the closest to a true peach… but I guess a “true peach” would be subjective.
Sex Appeal!
I will check it out! Thanks!
definitely love the lip colour. Looks great on natural look. The blush seems a little bit like bronzer to me…but you never know, untill u have tested it on yourself 🙂
Thanks, Liz!
This color looks great on you! How do you think it compares to MAC Cream Soda from the Archie’s Girls line?
Cream Soda is much lighter and more peach – not really brown!
This is exactly the colour of blush I’ve been dying to get!! Not sure I can handle the pricetag though. Maybe it will be a “Happy you survived 5 years of university” gift for myself LOL
Sounds like a good plan 🙂
This one looks really healthy on you; I like it! Now, we know I adore NARS blushes, but I just can’t get myself into this one. I do plan on adding to my collection soon, though! It’s been a minute since I’ve bought a new NARS blush, lol.
LOL!
hello!!!!!!!!!
How do you compare it to Korres Natural???
🙂
Korres’ Natural is browner and a bit darker, and less shimmery!
thankkkkkkkk you!!!!!
I normally gravitate towards bright blushes, but this one really calls out to be for some reason. I think it would look great in the summer for an all over bronzed look.
It would be a great summer blush, Lydia!
This looks gorgeous! How does it compare to Luster by Nars?
Luster is more orange and gold!
How does this compare to NARS’ Luster? This looks amazing on you btw! 🙂
Luster is more orange and gold!
I tried about 7 Nars blushes, they just don’t make me more beautiful in my opinion 🙂 So we separated ways.
Aww!
How does this compare to MAC’s Trace Gold?
I don’t have that one I don’t think!
Too orange and brown for me. 🙂 It’s the one type of blush that doesn’t work for my skin tone – too much like bronzer! But this is very nice on you. I could see it working very well on medium to medium-dark skin tones.
Aww, that is too bad, Veronica!
I actually haven’t ever heard of this shade but it looks nice on you–definitely adds that glow!! 🙂
Thanks, Becca!
Liking it on you Christine! =)
So I have NARS Madly and Casino, is Silvana different enough from these two?
Do you think this would wear okay with the Casino bronzer?
I haven’t swatched Casino… at least not in a very long time, so I’m not sure how different it is. I think Casino is darker and Madly is browner.
No prob! Thank you Christine!
Bobbi Brown Almond should also be a good dupe, except it’s more matte. It’s a pretty blush.
Thanks, Liz! I’ll have to check it out!
I think it looks beautiful on you! I have to return a Becca concealer at Sephora tomorrow and I think I am going to pick Silvanna up.
I hope you can find it!
This is one I was most curious about, but I think it may be a tad too warm for me. It seems very pigmented for a lighter shade, though.
It’s very true-to-pan!
Looks very pretty on you, I’m tempted to get it and see how it works on my pale skin as a bronzer!
Thanks, Sabrina!
I love this one! It’s my go-to for contour or natural color these days, since I feel slightly more confident about contouring.
Awesome, Phyrra!
I love this. I think it’s maybe a touch oranger than I’d like, but otherwise I’d purchase it immediately.
I can see it being a little orange for some!
This is really lovely! I could totally get away with using this as a bronzer. It gives you the perfect sun kissed look Christine! Definitely gorgeous.
I bet you could!
Thanks for a very helpful review as always!! I’d been thinking of buying this but wasn’t sure, as I normally buy Luster, but this actually looks like exactly what I’m after at the moment 😀
Think I’ll buy it with the Light Reflecting Powder… Thanks for your review of that too! xx
Thanks, Floz!
This is so pretty! I love Douceur for a defined but mostly neutral cheek, although it has hints of plum on my skin tone; this looks like it could become the peach-toned version in my makeup collection! This has definitely landed on my “want” list!
Hi, Christine, great review! I’m an Asian (NC20), do u think this would work as a bronzer on me?
Yes, it could!
I’m intrigued. I hope it looks good in person as it does on your photos.
This looks really lovely. I’m very very fair and warm toned and I’m thinking this may work well as a contouring powder – most products are too cool toned or orangey and leave my face looking a bit grubby!
Christine, in terms of color how does Silvana compare to MAC’s Sunbasque?
Sunbasque is more orange!
ahhh i love the way this looks on you! i really like warm peach tones for spring/summer. they bring so much life back to the face and i think can be worn alone with a swipe of mascara for a natural, fresh face look. i totally have to get this blush! its just too perfect!
Hi Christine! I have a NARS blush in Gina and was wondering if that one was similar in color to Silvana? I am looking for a new brown based blush but am not sure if it looks too much like Gina. Thanks!
Gina is lighter, more orange.
