What brand can't seem to do mascara well?
Urban Decay mascara tends to be more disappointing than not in my past experiences!

Wet n Wild, Rimmel, YSL, Pat McGrath
Agree with YSL, and PMG because I have tried those brands.. find their mascaras rather hateful.
I love the YSL mascaras I’ve tried. Stupidly expensive though.
Since I only use, or have even tried samples, of several brands, I have been spared “fails”. I do wish that Benefit Roller Lash had a waterproof version, though. I used to love this mascara so much! Until I got caught in a monsoon mega soaker without an umbrella, and that mascara literally MELTED all over the place and got into my eyes. It stung so horribly that I had to walk the one block to my apartment in Scottsdale literally BLIND.
I have loved Rollerlash since the moment I tried it like a decade ago. But I’m with you, that thing smears and travels all over the place!
Everybody except Lancome and Maybelline?
I kid, I kid…sort of. I feel like it’s easier to pick up one of their offerings at random and have it be good versus choosing a covergirl or benefit at random.
Mascaras are not a big feature of my makeup life and I haven’t really tried any high end brands or even many DS brands. I think any mascara that clumps your eyelashes is a big fail or ones that stay ‘wet’ for a long time are annoying as well.
When Benefit discontinued Bad Gal mascara I rather loaded up on it because it was perfection to me. I honestly have never used any other mascara with the exception of Givency 4 in one and now that’s hard to find. I can’t wear mascaras with those plastic spikey wands, it’s got to be full and fluffy. I suppose I’ll be forced to buy a mascara by summer and I’ll no doubt get L’Oréal lash paradise or something paradise because the wand looks fat like the old Bad Gal.
Wet n Wild, e.l.f
Pat McGrath is the one brand that comes to mind, I tried her firs (only?) mascara and was so disappointed.
I’ve not had much luck with MAC either.
It would be easier to list the brands I love, Benefit, I’ve loved all the ones I’ve tried, Dior, YSL and Lancome.
I try to avoid high end because ds brands have decent options. Been disappointed by Dior & Guerlain mascaras in the past: Diorshow was huge (expensive) failure. Guerlain was barely ok & at their price point that’s unacceptable. I loved Cover Girl’s Marathon mascara back in the day & it’s still my benchmark for mascara. Lancome had an amazing very waterproof mascara in the 80’s (I think) Aquacils. I’ve hit & miss with ds brands too but it’s not as hard on my budget especially as I’m retired & on a pension.
Milk makeup mascara is my go to! Urban decay is probably the worst I’ve tried.
