Dior Cruise Look Eyeshadow Palette Review & Swatches
Cruise Look (022)
Dior Cruise Look (022) 5 Couleurs Couture Eyeshadow Palette ($62.00 for 0.24 oz.) is a new(er), warm-toned neutral color story with finishes that ranged from pearl to metallic. It was a lighter-leaning palette without a darker matte to add depth, so it may not work for everyone as a standalone palette.

Cruise Look (022)

Cruise Look #1
Cruise Look #1 is a light, rosy brown with warm undertones and fine pink and gold pearl. It had semi-opaque color coverage that was buildable when applied over a primer. The texture was soft, finely-milled, and a touch dusty in the pan but blendable. It wore well for seven and a half hours before fading visibly.

Formula Overview
-
The formula is supposed to have a "creamy and comfortable texture" that is long-wearing and has "intense color" (or "high-pigment"). There are five finishes that can be found within various palettes: matte, satin, shimmer, metallic, highlighter, and glitter, though there aren't specific descriptions by finish, unfortunately.
There were a few shades that seemed more sparkly and were sheerer, more like layering shades, while the other finishes tended to be pigmented. In general, the texture was moderately dense with the matte shades being slightly thinner and a smidgen powdery in the pan compared to the satin, shimmer, and metallic shades.
Aside from those more sparkly shades, the formula was blendable, pigmented, easy to work with, and lasted an average of eight hours on me (without a primer).

LELimited Edition.
Cruise Look #2
Cruise Look #2 is a bright, pale pink with subtle, warm undertones and a metallic sheen. It had mostly opaque pigmentation, which was buildable to full coverage with a second layer. The texture was moderately dense, slightly firmer, so there was no powderiness of fallout, but it still picked up readily with a dry brush. It stayed on nicely for eight hours before fading noticeably.

Cruise Look #4 is a light-medium, yellow gold with moderate, warm undertones and a metallic sheen. I bought this…and I LOVE it. It looks so ordinary…but it’s somehow not. It makes my eyes all soft and glowy…lol
I think it is very sophisticated looking palette.
This little quint has turned out to be surprisingly very good – all the shades have been quite pigmented, none of that pesky second or third shade being a dud, and the colour story works well. I really quite like it.
There seems to be a trend lately for softer, glowy eye palettes. While very lovely on some, I’m not as sure of this working on my very hooded almond shaped eyes. This is yet one more palette that I love, but I would have to bring in a matte in order to add dimension to my lids.
Same.. would use some of these shades on top of a matte for a refined glowy look, but need some depth for these hoods too.
Shades 1-3 are really beautiful and would make gorgeous simple one and dones.. I especially love that centre copper shade. I’m not so fond of shades 4 and 5.
If my stash caught fire, I’d get this. And a cooler version (vapor) For older users, using s.t. Light and glowy, 1-3 looks best. Elaborate looks a bit ‘trying to hard.’ This one is the essence of subtle.
