What have been your favorite purchases/finds this year (so far)?

There have been some good purchases this year – more than I thought! I love the new Terra Moons eyeshadow shades released, Natasha Denona Zendo/Circo Loco palettes, Pat McGrath blushes, MAC Love Me Liquid Lipcolours…

I fell in love with SG’s Tiny Marvels palette! And I bought some Peter Thomas Roth undereye patches/mask because they had a sale, and I love them! I’m not big on skincare routines, but they feel so refreshing I find myself reaching for them several times a week. My other big find was discovering a brush that worked well with my Fenty cream bronzers and blushes, so I wear them all the time now!

The same items I use almost daily are my favourites so far.
1. Patrick Ta Major Sculpt Cream Contour & Powder Bronzer Duo: She’s Sculpted
2. RMS Master Radiance Base: Rich in Radiance
3. Becca Dewing Tint: Luminary (1) and Light Year (4). The latter I’m using now in the summer. For both, I mix them into my light foundations/bb/skin tints

To a lesser extent but still favourites
Melt Cream, Blush in Honey Thief
Benefit Real Magnet Mascara

1. LYS cream blushes – just love these. Perfect cream to satin-matte finish, a little goes a long way and they blend beautifully.

2. BRUSHES! I have gone to densely packed in all shapes and sizes rather than the floofier ones for blowing everything out. I prefer much more controlled application and strategic placement these days.

3. Giorgio Armani Neo Nude foundation. 4.5 is a near perfect color match and the coverage and finish are lightweight but everything is evened out and buttery smooth somehow. *chef’s kiss*

I got this recently on Jamie Page’s recommendation as, like her, most eye creams I try always give me milia around my eye area. So far so good tho with this little gem, and the pot will last me ages even with using it every night.

Laniege Time Freeze sleeping mask (I also use it as an eye cream!) and Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair (I know it’s been around forever, I am VERY late to the game) have made significant improvements to my skin. I also really like the Oh K! citrine glow moisturizers and Innisfree Appleseed cleansing oil.

For makeup, the Sephora Rouge Lacquer lipsticks are a lovely, semi sheer but still decently pigmented formula (also great value), XX Revolution Second Skin face primer, eyeshadow quad XXcite (pinks) and the Hi-Glow palettes are great, the Uoma Coming To America 2 Royal Heir-itage and Colourpop So Very Lovely eye palettes are totally my jam 🙂

So far this year, I have made very few purchases of new makeup – only backups of favourite lipsticks. Late last year I purchased ND’s Glam and that has been my favourite purchase in awhile.
However I am looking forward to receiving my Temptalia On the Horizon Light palette and I am sure THAT is going to be a favourite purchase.

Same! I was going to buy the Radiant Reflection, because soooo beautiful, but the color story of On the Horizon won out. I had to think more of my daily use, (what I actually reach for when getting ready for work) and fell in love. It had just enough color and neutral to be something I know I could use day in and day out, maybe even PAN.

This question made me realized how much I simply repurchase old favorites these days… and I don’t miss buying new stuff at all!

The only thing that comes to mind is Paula’s Choice Bakuchiol Treatment; I still love the Clinical 1% Serum more, but it’s a good option to retinol.

Cosrx Mucin Power Essence! Out of all the hyped but disappointing skincare ingredients, of course it’s snail goo that works for my skin. Nothing’s helped with redness this much since whatever skincare-in-makeup magic Urban Decay had in their self-adjusting complexion primer (RIP).

Boring, but CeraVe’s Renewing SA cleanser. It might just replace my cheapy toner because it works about as well.

For makeup, it’s Terra Moons Sundazed and all its shades of burnished green-gold, bronze, and red copper.

I have loved:
ABH Norvina Vol 5 palette
Pat McGrath blushes and Dark star mascara
Scott Barnes Sculpting and Contour N 1 Palette
Urban Decay Hydromaniac tinted moisturizer foundation

Off the top of my head (I can’t even believe how much I remember)
-Shine by SD eye shadows. Just in general. I have loved every shadow I have purchased from them. The Reserve bundle is AWESOME. Glam rush is AWESOME. Excelerate is AWESOME.
-It’s Bel Break the Rules palette
-Enchanted Lustre’s Fluoroprisms shadow bundle (they are all so fun and SPARKLY)
-Jah Cosmetics crushed pigment pots (I have three and they’re all great)
-Terra Moons Barrio palette (love the mattes especially)
-Terra Moons Moon Lily shadow
-Coloured Raine Angel Face (use it all the time for transitions now)
-JD Glow AKA shadow
-Bitter Lace Beauty Looking Glass highlighter
