Are there products you only use during the fall?
I can’t think of anything that’s specifically for fall! I start to reach for some of my headier fragrances, like Tom Ford Plum Japonais, Bois Morrocain, etc. more often.

A few fragrances see more use in fall/winter – Clinique Aromatics Elixir is purely a cold weather scent; By the Fireplace and Fresh Cannabis Rose are scents I do use at other times of year but mostly, they’re cool weather fragrances as well. Makeup-wise, Chanel Tisse d’automne, Blurry Grey and Dior Bonne Etoile are small palettes that get their most use (almost exclusive use) in fall and winter.
You too, Christine? Yes, I leave my more potent perfumes for the cooler weather due to our intense heat during the super long summer turning me into PePe Lepew if I throw them on!
Also, I use a deeply moisturizing night cream and hand lotion starting right about now, too. More vampy makeup is easier to wear in the cooler months as well.
No, I keep my make-up the same year round, no seasonal changes, and I try to use all my products regularly no matter the season.
Yes, but that’s because I tend to gravitate towards certain colors during certain times of the year. Unsurprisingly, I like fall tones in the fall – burgundy, orange, copper, mustard, navy blue, etc. Particularly, for fall I love busting out my orange eyeshadows like Hourglass Scattered Lights in Burnish & LM Caviar Stick in Copper. I also love purples and taupes: Tom Ford Platinum, LM Caviar Stick in Amethyst, Hourglass Smoke. I love darker tones on my nails. For fragrance I like more smokey, vanilla, gourmand type of scents like Tom Ford Ombre Leather, Replica By The Fireplace & Jazz Club, Mugler Alien, Atelier Cologne Vanille Insensee.
Fall wouldn’t be fall without some Serge Lutens fragrances, such like Cuir Mauresque and Chypre Rouge, whose woody facets evoke to me the solemnity of majestic tall trees and the “humid” scent of red and gold dead leaves in the Norman countryside here around me. I like to wear L’Artisan Parfumeur Safran Troublant as well on colder days. And I love being surrounded by a cloud of Guerlain L’Heure Bleue at bedtime!
I use thicker, more nourishing yet occlusive lip balms and face products that really cling as opposed to just absorbing in immediately, which helps shield the skin from the harsh winter here.
I don’t mind looking greasy during errands since I’m usually mostly bundled up and obscured by snow or a mask anyway, and I wipe off the excess when I get home then apply a nourishing, soothing mask like Dermal’s honey or tea tree.
Also I just realized that this specifically says Fall but here it’s basically freezing and windy from November on with a few moderate days in between so we don’t really have a balmy Fall except for a couple weeks while the foliage turns.
I like to wear spicier orientals in the fall/winter along with my classics. Sometimes leaning vanilla like Shalimar, another leaning spicy and warm like Mitsouko, and one warmer and powedery like L’Heure Bleue.
While I wear sunscreen, my skin is definitely tanner in the warmer months but in the winter, I can get pull off cooler tones and darker lips. That is where I get more use from PMG Mothership I.
I also use more moisturizer and more water (need extra hydration).
Heavier perfumes wear better in the cooler months, at least for me. I also love Tom Ford Plum Japonais, which is why I was very sad to learn it has been discontinued. Looking for a dupe for when I run out. Other than that I also wear Guerlain’s L’heure Bleue in the Autumn and Winter. It is just a classic and beautiful scent.
I can’t think of anything. I don’t even change out my scents. I wear more fall shades of lipstick but that wouldn’t stop me from wearing them in the spring or anytime, really.
I have been really loving perfume this entire year. I have bought several bottles! Oud seems to be my most reached for.. MFK Oud Satin Mood, Oud Silk Mood, I recently purchased another bottle of TF Cafe Rose. Parfumes De Marly Delina is another one that I am enjoying now. Another thing I like to do is use rose water as body spray- cheap and lovely!
No, there aren’t any products that I use specifically for one season, except for higher factor SPF for spring/summer.
I tend to use my various eye palettes all year round, regardless of the season. However, like Mariella above I tend to use my Chanel Tisse D’Automne and other olive shades more in the autumn and brighter blues and teals more in summer.
No. I’ll wear anything any time of the year.
I do use my heavier spicier perfumes in fall and winter. Heavier face and hand creams for our frozen northern hemisphere is a must. I like darker shadows and pencils for this time of year as well but it doesn’t stop me from wearing them other times of the year as well.
