Guerlain Sheer Shine Rouge G Lip Color ($33.00 for 0.09 oz.) is a new, “sheer shine” finish in the Rouge G lipstick range that is supposed to be hydrating with a “luminous” finish. There are seven shades in the range, and I also spotted an unknown-to-me shade (#50) in the regular Rouge G when the new finish was launched (I bought mine from Saks). Here are swatches!

Nothing here really attracts me, and as pretty and glamorous as it is, I don’t like the Rouge G packaging because it’s so bulky and heavy. (I’m assuming these come with those tiny half-caps so you have to buy the custom cap?)

Maybe it’s just me but all these “new” and very pricey sheer lipsticks (these and the Gucci ones) which seem to be little more than pigmented lip glosses are just too rich for my budget. I’m just as happy with the Revlon ones that have come out recently or other far more affordable lip glosses.

Nancy, the Sephora Rouge Lacquer lipsticks also seem similar in texture, feel and wear. I have 2 of them and really, really like them and there’s a wide range of colours.

I’m loving the trend, but waiting for the Revlons too! Still, the abundance of formulas ensures everybody finds something that works for them.

I’ve always liked the Guerlain Rouge G line – super moisturizing.

But I absolutely love the new layout – being able to switch between tabs of Products, Swatches, and Lip Swatches is really helpful, it’s so much easier to get an idea of the color. I’m just switching back & forth & back & forth over & over, it’s delightful! 😀

I like the Rouge G line in general and love these sheers.
Since I already have 3 covers, I can switch those between shades and save the little black plastic covers to use when not using the “fancy” cover. It is true that they are heavy but elegant.

How does #50 compare to the discontinued Geneva (#48)? On screen 50 looks a little warmer. I’m looking for a dupe in the formula…a girl can dream!

I love #50, but why can’t I find it on Saks site? Also, I noticed the shape of the lipstick is different from the other Rouge G’s. Looking for that bright coral! I purchased #588, but its just too light.

Interesting… they redirected that link – because the one I linked to had one shade only!

Trying again here. Otherwise, try searching “guerlain rouge g,” and there will be a listing that says “Rouge G Customizable Satin Lipstick Shade” and it won’t show a color square at all (looks like a single product). It will say “Color – No 50” on it!
