Dominique Cosmetics Latte 2 Eyeshadow Palette Swatches
Dominique Cosmetics Latte 2 Eyeshadow Palette ($42.00) is the newest palette from the brand released for their 2-year anniversary. The palette launches today at 10AM PT.
As a note, there is at least one shade that contained visible glitter (Frappe), and the ingredient list does list plastic glitter in the formula. Unfortunately, the ingredient list applies to all shades, so it’s unclear if only one (or some number less than 10 as several shades seemed completely matte to me) include plastic glitter. It is listed as an eyeshadow palette, and there are no disclosures/warnings — I just thought Frappe might have actual glitter and when I edited photos, I saw plastic glitter in the ingredient list.
Secondary note, it is “mocha scented,” though mine arrived as a press sample, so mine actually smells more like the coffee beans included in the press kit (hoping the actual scent will be clearer in a few days)!
The plastic glitter in everything is a sad trend. That plus the scent makes it easy to pass on this one.
I know – this whole plastic glitter thing is making a lot of eyeshadows a “no” for a lot of people, it seems.
100% agree. Why not just sell smelly Brillo pads for the eyelids?
Frappe is so beautiful in pan buy looks like a flop swatched. :/
This is going to be a hard call. I really love the color story and your eye look, but I probably won’t use Frappe due to the noticeable glitter. The mattes and two shimmers look amazing, though!
Your whole look is really pretty, Christine! Also, I love your earrings!
I had the exact same thoughts, first the makeup then the earrings lol!
I really like the DC formula, but this color story doesn’t do it for me. I wouldn’t wear a sea foam green (although it is pretty and bet some people can make it look amazing), have plenty of corals and oranges from all my other palettes that throw them in (and only wear them when I force myself to get out of my comfort zone), and these browns are so similar to the latte palette that I already have (and they are like the energizer bunny lasting forever and ever so I don’t really need more of those shades). The glitter in Frappe could be a color I pass over and ignore *IF* the rest of the palette was inticing. Unfortunately, that isn’t the case… but I do look forward to future releases and am hoping for another DC release to speak to me. I think this would be a great palette for those who like these colors!
I really like the look of Iced Coffee and also of Drizzle and Frappe (but the plastic glitter in the latter is a “no go” for me). I’ll hope I have dupes of the shades I like best.
Iāve been into my neutrals again and the six shades on the left side look so lovely! I will be admiring this one from afar, though, because I probably already have those browns and beiges… ?
Like Cameron above, plastic glitter + scent = an easy pass. Also I think the palette is a bit disjointed, you have the four/five neutral shades plus the bright yellow, jade green and pink that don’t quite seem to belong. My favourite shades are Drizzle and Iced Coffee.
I would probably adore the scent, but I don’t need more neutrals, don’t want orange or seafoam green, and I refuse to buy palettes with glitter in them. I’m not going to encourage that dangerous trend with my money.
Christine, I was looking for the Look Details and couldn’t find it. I looked for the link under the photos but I may just be so blind. I am interested in all the details, blush, lipstick! Your look is just stunning and you certainly got this basic palette to really sing for you! Just beautiful.
Hi Deborah!
As this is a sneak peek, I haven’t had time to add more information to the system yet!
I’m not loving the color story it’s “meh.”
I think this is a beautiful look on you, Christine. I really love the two darker browns in this palette, but that is hardly enough to sway me to buy. Iām trying to find look details for lip products in eyes closed photo.
I’m so tired of glitter in palettes. With Colourpop it’s whatever to me because it’s affordable and I just ignore it. But overall I feel like glitter is a “sometimes” product and for safety sake should always be in a separate pot/jar as an add on. The glitter in this is what is making me pass on it.
Frappe is a disaster, fallout all over my face and does not come off easily. Cafe con Leche disappears on my lids. Not happy with this purchase.
