Urban Decay Scorch & Perversion Eyeliners (one on each eye). Huge fan of the 24/7 formula; I find they’re really pigmented, creamy, don’t dry out, and wear well (eight to twelve hours with faint to light thinning/fading) for me. What I also like is that they wear well during the day (not as iron-like wear as Marc Jacobs Highliners are for me) but still remove easily.

Oy!
My eye look was full of fail yesterday. I kinda went with a colourful eye (not my fav) and didn’t have clear direction so I ended up blending the crap outta it to take away the worst and adding a fail proof eyeliner on my lower lash line:

Givenchy Kohl Couture waterproof retractable in 06 Lilac

This is a super unique colour to my liner collection. It’s a lighter matte lilac purple so adds a bit of brightening and enhances my grey/green hazel eyes. The texture is soft, glides smoothly without any intense waxy feel. It’s quite lightweight actually and has excellent longevity. Highly recommended!

Hi Kitty: I always apply after eyeshadow to maintain the true colour. I apply in my waterline and smudge into lash line. I’ve worn it with many colours of e/s.. That said, I do tend towards muted neutrals, cannot wear deep dark colours any longer against my aging skin. If I were to be colour matched, I think would fall into a muted summer. The colour has a mid value depth so not too light (it’s not a pastel) or too dark. Hope this helps. Like I stated, it is alone in my stash. I have nothing else remotely like it.

Thanks Wednesday. I forgot to ask you–does this remove pretty easily? I quit wearing pencil liners because it was so hard to remove them. I don’t use them in waterline but very close to lash line.

Hey ladies, to remove every stitch of makeup, there’s nothing out there that beats the Shu Umera cleansing oil. I initially do a pass on my eye makeup with a cotton pad soaked in eye makeup remover. Then I go in with the oil, work it in a bit and no remnants of eye liner or face makeup left. I usually buy the largest size when they have a sale and it lasts me a year or more. p.s. After the oil is rinsed off, I do a double cleanse. Clarins is a favorite.

The Colourpop creme gel liner pencils! Affordable, great color selection, and the staying power is pretty darn good considering I have oily skin and deep set eyes. If I really need to lock it down, layering a little eyeshadow on top gets the job done.

I am really enjoying the Victoria Beckham Beauty eyeliner in Bronze. I have super oily eyelids and most eyeliners smudge on me so I need something that can deal with that. This lasts all day and is very creamy so I can smudge it out so nicely. Big fan <3

Because I almost always use at least 2 or 3 eyeliners per look….
MAC Blacktrack Fluidline – this is a fairly satisfying replacement for my beloved DC’d Essence Midnight In Paris gel liner. It is a wetter formula than the latter. Not as allergy tear-proof as Essence was, but still resists breaking down entirely.
Smashbox Fishnet Always On Eye Pencil – Just as effective at staying put on my upper tightline as the MJ Blacquer Hi-Liner was. Not much else to report. It’s basically the same formula, but in a pencil form and less expensive, too.
UD 24/7 Glide On Eye Pencil in Alkaline – Deep, rich aubergine color that always makes the green in my eyes POP! The UD formula lasts all day on my lower lashline, and even on my upper lashline on the rare occasion that I use it for such. I have quite a few shades of these. Favorites are: Alkaline, Corrupt, Torch, Stash and Night King.

Today I went with a copper lid and red lip, so I decided to line my eyes with MAC Stubborn Brown (from the Powerpoint Eye Pencil line), to get a little more definition.
I also own Engraved (the other Powerpoint Eye Pencil available), but I find Stubborn Brown performs better. It’s creamy enough to apply smoothly (I don’t like to apply even the slightest pressure on my eyelids), but stiff enough to get a precise line. It stays put all day if I just line my eyes, but in the waterline it fades in 1-2 hours to a sheer color (which eventually stays like that all this).
I like the color, it’s a dark brown with a rich pigmentation, but without looking almost black.
I would actually say the formula and pigmentation is similar to the 24/7 and Highliners, but without the staying power; the 24/7 stays put all day even in the waterline, while the Highliners… well… if you don’t take time to remove them, they will be there days later. 😆

Eek, my first Temptalia reply! The last eyeliner I wore is Chanel’s STYLO YEUX WATERPROOF Long-Lasting Eyeliner in Black Wood (945). This is the first eyeliner that nails the soft black/brown color that suits me best, stays put on my waterline, and doesn’t find its way onto my contact lenses. I know it’s LE but I truly hope Chanel adds it to the permanent line (any chance you have some pull, Christine?). It’s FAR outside my budget but it’s a perfect liner so the deal with it dog in sunglasses applies.

My most recent liner was a UD 24/7, too! Good ol’ Perversion. It’s a great deep matte black. Does the job.

I’ve been experimenting more with using a tiny brush and black eyeshadow for my liner, though, since I have hooded eyes. Depends on the look I’m going for on any given day. A lot of times I’ll just skip the liner all together if I’m in a hurry or feeling a softer look.

The last eyeliner I wore and the one I wear probably 95% of the time is Sephora Cappuccino pencil liner. It is a rich dark brown – not red-toned, which is one of the many things I like – and has golden or bronze flecks. It is just such a good liner for me and if they discontinue it, you will be able to hear my screams of protest. I almost always pair it with Marc Jacobs’s skinny liner in either black or navy on my upper waterline.

I always wear liner. The Surratt liquid liner in brown is a fave. I also like the Chanel Blackwood, and MJ Skinny Liner in Berry, and if I am wearing a green look, Chanel Celadon on the other lower lash line. Fenty did a teal liquid liner in one of her first collections. That may just be the only color product I am likely to use up. It kind of nails every look from the cool neutrals through the golds and greens. Natasha Denona totally gets it about the basic-ness of teal, and that’s why she has done so many dark teals. My liner collection is a bit over extensive. I can pass or do with a dupe of any other kind of product.

Urban Decay Lucky was the last actual liner. I don’t use liner everyday or even every week. When I do want the look of a liner I usually use the darkest shade of shadow in the palette and just do a “faux” line. I primarily use UD 24/7 or Marc Jacobs and both wear fairly well for me. They both are smooth and apply without tugging. I think they wear about 6-8 hours on me before they either fade or slip. I find the shades transfer quite actually and I get really good coverage. I own a few ColourPop liners otherwise, all the liners I own are within those two brands.

The PMG gel liner pencil in Black Coffee. I am trying to use it up. I have concluded that gel eye liners don’t work for me. I basically tightline and the gels don’t keep their point long enough for that. It wears well, though, and is easy to remove.

I’ve really been wearing eyeliner for events/special occasions, although given the vast amount in my stash, I should wear it more often… The last time I wore liner was about 3 weeks ago, and it was the Kat von D Tattoo Liner in “Trooper”. I wore it to a concert, in the “pit” of a tiny Historical theatre (1911, so no AC), was sprayed in the face with water (a part of Dita von Reese’s act), and it held up beautifully. My eyeshadow, KvD Lolita Por Vida, turned into a huge, glittery mess, and my Too Faced BTS mascara faded to oblivion, but my wings stayed fully intact. Say what you will about Kat von D as a person, but she certainly puts out some amazing products…

I hate getting sprayed in the face at a show but your review certainly makes me want to try KVD’s liquid liner. It also me laugh and think of a Willam Belli video… The look on that person’s face when they got a drink in the face was hilarious.

Today I only wore LA Girl Electric liner from their neon line winged out on my eyes. I think I have all of these eyeliners now, and I love them. They’re like $5, and they apply and wear SO well. The yellow is probably stays the shortest amount of time, but it still performs much better than I would’ve expected. One of my favorite looks lately has been a bright liner and mascara only type thing, and I reach for the LA Girl liners more than anything else.

By contrast, the liner I wore before that is Nectar from Glossier. It is more expensive, stiffer, and while it wears nicely, it applies so stiff! I like it, and I find the color to be unique enough to deal with the less-than-ideal texture, but it is interesting to see how much application factors into how much I like a product.

I used MJ Irony yesterday. My only issue with MJ eyeliners is you can’t sharpen them and they’re a little bulky for the fine lines I like to make. I use a MAC 211 brush, which looks like a thin lip brush, and scrape off the eyeliner and smudge it into my lashline. It’s a more natural look that way.

I used one of the Linda Hallberg crayons in my waterline and smudged into outer lower lid, don’t remember the color, I have a few of hers that all turned out to be brown sparkle.

My favorite waterline eyeliner is UD Starfire. It was a limited edition in her holiday set last year. It’s a pretty orange/bronze shade and brightens my eye, goes on so smoothly with zero issues, plus it stays on endlessly. I had to buy a few from secondary market just to stock up.

I wore Colourpop’s Venus BFF red eyeliner on my waterline for my vampire Halloween costume. It stayed on all night and didn’t irritate my eyes: 2 minor miracles. Plus it looked spooky AF! ?‍♀️

I was playing with Melt All Day/Everyday reflect liners since I haven’t worn them much. I used Dusk all over my lid. Very pretty orange with gold reflects. Makes a good orangey gold e/s or base for e/s as it can move a little. OR I should get a better eye primer! Melt Porcelina is the most interesting white with white sparkling reflect for inner corners and lower water line or wherever you wear a liner that white. Corrupt and Filth were meh. I might like ‘em better as a base for my PMG Mothership V Bronze Seduction colors: Bronze Blaze, Disobedient, Entrapment, Gilty Pleasure. I’ve been trying to wear Melt’s ultra matte liner pencil 1987/black. It’s a whole to do sharpening every time, smudging it just right, hoping it won’t move yet it always moves. It’s similar to MAC Engraved but Melt is waxier and softer.

I’m more of a liquid liner person. I’ve been stingy about using what I have left of my favorite of all time, Rubotan shiny liquid liner with latex from Japan. I haven’t been able to find it for years. It’s very black! Mehron 1927 Liquid Vinyl is probably a great dupe.

Manon, thank you for the makeup remover suggestion. I use Makeup Forever sens’eyes to remove all eye makeup. It melts powder cream wax oil -based products. You kind of have to work it in if it’s waterproof mascara. And then a cleansing balm (I’ve been on a Farmacy kick for a year).
Just curious what eye makeup remover you use?
