Huda Beauty Nude Medium Obsessions Eyeshadow Palette Review & Swatches
Nude Medium
Huda Beauty Nude Medium Obsessions Eyeshadow Palette ($27.00 for 0.35 oz.) is a new, neutral palette designed to be particularly flattering on medium skin tones. It includes five matte eyeshadows and four shimmery eyeshadows, and they’re housed in a slim, travel-friendly compact.
Most of the shades performed well, but a couple of the mattes were a little powdery and had to be built up (or used over an eyeshadow primer) to retain their pigmentation and intensity. One shimmer (#9) felt a bit too firmly packed into the pan, so it needed more effort to transfer onto my lid.

Nude Medium #1
Nude Medium #1 is a rich, orange-brown with strong, warm undertones and a matte finish. It was lightly powdery and had a touch of fallout during application. The pigmentation was opaque in a single layer, but it had a tendency to sheer out to more semi-opaque as soon as I worked with it, so I had to build it back up to get full coverage out of it. The color wore nicely for eight hours before fading noticeably on me.

Nude Medium #2
Nude Medium #2 is a rich, light-medium copper with strong, warm undertones and a metallic finish. The consistency was soft, lightly creamy and yielding, so it picked up well with a dry brush and deposited color evenly and smoothly across my lid. It had rich color payoff that stayed on well for eight and a half hours before creasing slightly.

Nude Medium #3 is a medium-dark copper with moderate, warm undertones and a matte finish. The eyeshadow had a soft, lightly dusty consistency, which was present in the pan but not in application; it applied evenly and blended out well without the opaque coverage sheering out too readily. Nude Medium #4 is a medium, orange-leaning coral with warm undertones and a matte finish. It had a soft, velvety consistency that was slightly powdery in the pan, but the color applied well to bare skin without fallout or sheering out too easily. Nude Medium #7 is a brighter, light-medium reddish-copper with soft, warm undertones and flecks of pink and gold sparkle. It had excellent pigmentation that adhered evenly to bare skin and blended out well along the edges without the color losing its intensity. The consistency was a bit more firmly-pressed in the pan compared to the other shimmers, but it softened and became more yielding after one use. It wore nicely for eight hours before fading noticeably on me.

Nude Medium #8
Nude Medium #8 is a dusty, darker coral with strong, warm undertones and a matte finish. The consistency was moderately powdery and had some fallout during application if I wasn’t careful to use less and tap off the excess. The pigmentation was closer to opaque, so long as one didn’t touch it after initial placement, but it had a tendency to sheer out so it worked better applied in more gradual layers. The color stayed on well for seven and a half hours before fading a bit.

The quality looks decent. The shades are nice, too. But, a little too familiar…as in; I’m pretty sure I can dupe it to a very close degree using just my ND Lila and Sunrise palette, plus a few MAC Pro pan singles I have.
I am inspired to bring them out and do a very similar eye look to this beautiful one you did above!
These palettes are great for travel and to have a bunch of neutral shades that would make a nice everyday type eye look, together in one palette. Most of us who have large collections have the right neutral shades already. But, if I were travelling for a long period of time I would think these palettes would be ideal.
Another really pretty palette by Huda. I think if you were into these kinds of shades, you would want/wish for all three of them.
Beautiful eye look too Christine.
Looks quite pretty and easy to use but you’d probably only get one or two different looks out of it.
Shouldn’t the rating be A- overall though?
Everything is averaged for the overall score but nothing can be rounded up to 100% if it wasn’t 100% (it is inaccurate to say something was 100% if it had ANY deficit, IMO), so it is done manually for each part of the rubric to reflect that adjustment. Similarly, if there were two products and one scored 9 and one scored 8.5, then on my end, I actually use partial points to determine whether it’s closer to 9 or closer to 8.5 as a whole – again because I use half points only, pigmentation might be 8.7 and 9.2 (making 9 a better representation) or it could be 8.3 and 8.8 (making 8.5 a better representation). This is something only done on something like a duo or trio if necessary.
Raw averages here were 8.833, 9.833, 8.722, 8.556, 4.889 – rounding to 9, 9.5, 8.5, 8.5, 4.5, which is 89%.
This was my first experience with Huda’s eyeshadows, and I’m pretty pleased! This easily joins my Colourpop Brown Sugar palette as a “palette in residence” at work. I used #1 and #2 for an interview today, they went the distance, and I got compliments on my makeup throughout the day. ☺️
I passed on New Nudes because I felt that too many shades that were too light for me to use. This palette feels like a more curated version of the New Nudes color story. I agree that #9 is the hardest to work with, but it’s still pretty good, and I love how that shade of purple looks with my complexion and eye color.
