Charlotte Tilbury Lucky Diamonds & Pillow Talk Diamonds Lipsticks Reviews & Swatches
Lucky Diamonds
Charlotte Tilbury Lucky Diamonds Pillow Talk Diamonds Lipstick ($34.00 for 0.06 oz.) is a medium, coppery base with lots of gold, copper, and pink sparkle and glitter particles paired with a high-shine finish. The base was more translucent–sheer as described–with a moderate dosage of sparkle and larger glitter pieces.
The product applied fairly evenly with a good dispersion of the sparkles and glittery bits, but it could have been more even, especially as some of the glittery bits clumped up in places (particularly wherever my lip lines were deeper). The texture was creamy, emollient, and a little overly slippery, and I could definitely feel the glitter in the tube when applied and to a lesser degree whenever I pressed my lips together. It wore well for three and a half hours and was lightly hydrating over time.

Formula Overview
$34.00/0.06 oz. - $566.67 Per Ounce
The formula is supposed to have a "wash of sheer" color with "mineral-based glitter pigments" that can be used as a "lip topper" or on its own. There have only been two shades released thus far, and they were pretty true to description: sheer to semi-sheer coverage--more translucent bases--and a moderate dosage of sparkle and larger glitter.
If you're sensitive to the texture of glitter in your lipstick, you'll want to stay far away as both shades had a noticeable grit/textural element to them when applied. I felt like it was more noticeable during the initial application than it was during wear, but I could feel some of the glitter when I pressed my lips together firmly.

Lucky Diamonds
PPermanent. $34.00.
Pillow Talk Diamonds
Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Diamonds Pillow Talk Diamonds Lipstick ($34.00 for 0.06 oz.) has a translucent, pale pink base with a semi-sheer to moderate amount of larger gold and pink sparkle and glitter pieces. It had sheer coverage, which was as described, and a healthy dose of sparkle/glitter paired with a high-shine, glossy finish.
The glossy finish was actually what made it harder to replicate in a lipstick formula, as most shades with this much sparkle tended to be more matte or metallic with higher coverage. The product applied evenly across my lips, and all of the sparkles/glittery bits dispersed well across my lips as well. The consistency was creamy with moderate slip and felt quite emollient–more like a lipstick and lip balm hybrid to me–but had decent wear at three to three and a half hours (with some sparkles lingering).
If you’re someone who doesn’t like the feel of glitter/texture in your lipsticks, I’d give this a skip, as it bordered on gritty during application, and I could feel the glitter when I pressed my lips together during wear (not enough to be bothersome to me during wear, though).

Pillow Talk looks just like a Revlon lipstick I went through several tubes of back in the beginning of the aughts! Getting this one during the next Rouge sale!
Lucky Diamonds is also very tempting!
Wow, those look great on you Christine. I am really liking Lucky Diamonds. I did read they are very small.
Glad you reviewed these. I was dancing around this version of pillow talk and the promo photos were really gorgeous. Thanks for realistic photos. I do like it and since I barely ever wear lipstick anymore, this is a good compromise. I also like your overall look..nice to see that BBrown palette in action. I’m interested in review (maybe I missed it?).. Surprisingly, a few palettes have popped up and peaked my interest in past few weeks.. this Bobbi Brown(mildly interested) the new Marc Jacobs Holiday (moderately interested) and the third (rose) version of Pat McGrath Holiday (total keener). I will probably definitely get the PMG since I’m a huge fan and use my palettes all the time. The other two in the PMG collection seemed entirely dupeable within my existing collection so they were an easy pass.
Haven’t posted yet, so you didn’t miss it! 🙂
OMG – glitter in lipsticks! The shades look lovely and I like the gold infusions, but the glittery aspects would make them hard to wear.
I was really hoping you would review these! I think I need Lucky.
Interesting how these seem (to my eye) prettier from a distance.
Nature of glitter, IMO!
Those lipsticks are really pretty , but what really caught my eye was your shadow look . Omg that look is so pretty .
I bought this when it first launched and if it wasn’t such a hassle to return it, I would. Pretty yes, but truly a glorified lip balm. Absolutely zero colour, even a sheer hint on me. It gave the same result as the NARS Orgasm lip balm. In reading reviews on their site it seems a lot of people expected the pay off to be like their ad.. and sadly it’s not. Their recommendation to use lip liner underneath completely defeats the purpose. As a Charlotte lover I found this one missed the mark which happens rarely if ever!
These look like they would be pretty from a distance, but I do wish that the glitter was finer. I don’t like that I’d be able to feel the grit on my lips after the glossiness wore off.

Looks very pretty on the lips, but the gritty glitter is a giant NO for me.
Like Nancy thinks, these have a throwback feel. Think I had the EL tiger eye in the late 90s. What I find most interesting is how much more pigmented they are in the ‘distance’ photo, whereas in the close up, they both look quite sheer. Unexpected.
Beautiful nuances and combinations on eyeshadow colors, hair color, lips and earrings!
I have this in Pillowtalk diamonds, omg soo disappointing! When I first got this, it was so stiff like a glue stick. It has no base color, so it’s essentially it’s just gold glitter…chunky, clunky gold glitter. I don’t have very pink lips, so it just looks odd (and deffo not like the CT promo’s!). I have tried layering this on with a pink or coral base, and the result is not shiny but metallic. Dior sheer lipstick in Rosegold is much much better, shiny, balmy with different size glitter that looks refined not clunky.
Christine, do you think that sexual healing from NARS is a great dupe for pillow talk diamonds?
Not at all! The texture and effect are super different.
Wow, I have been eyeing Pillow Talk Diamonds since it came out, but seeing this has sealed the deal and I am definitely picking this up during the next Rouge sale. This looks SO pretty on you Christine!
