Release Date + Collection Info

The new M·A·C Love Me Lipstick Collection is made to express the love and respect you have for yourself – and it will sweep you off your feet. The revolutionary cream formula Lipstick is the next step beyond the iconic M·A·C mattes – representing a stunning innovation in sensation, application and wear. With a lighter-than-air texture that redefines comfort, Love Me Lipstick delivers intense colour and soft shine, along with all-day moisturization in one swipe.

Nourishing lychee fruit extract and argan oil impart immediate and long-term suppleness to lips, while the collection’s game-changing True-Colour Gelled System enables ultra-refined pigments to disperse evenly in a translucent gel matrix, yielding bright and smooth colour with high-impact payoff.

“This season, the backstage lip was nothing but lush. To get there, it’s no longer about just a single lip swipe, but rather a crafted lip – emboldening the feature by using pencils and even glosses to amplify contrast,” says Chantel Miller, New York-based M·A·C Director of Senior Artists. “Love Me lips are the colours we have lust for – its single-swipe sex appeal plays a critical role in the lip of the season. Best used straight from the tube, on top of Prep + Prime Lip (to build that coverage in double time) and then perfectly lined and glossed.”

Early access for Nordy's Club Members July 29th; August 1st at other retailers

I love the concept, and I am HERE for the ad styling…. and then there’s a color called “Coffe & Cigs”
*barf*

LOL – yeah, why not just call it “Bad Breath”? Actually, when I saw the name “Baited Breath” on the photo, I did a double take because with the small print, I thought for a moment that it actually said “Bad Breath”.

Nancy , where are these “weird lips” you speak of?? Not in your photo! You’re lovely. But I agree with you about the name French Silk, it conjures up chocolate mousse like the dessert, so a deeper color would have been appropriate.

Having bought the special edition shade signed by Mary J. Blige in French Silk, I can attest to their comfort and moisturizing effect. Very nice feeling! More pigmented than Cremesheen, less than Amplified. However…this very light shade does take some extra steps on my part in order for it to go on evenly. Then again, my lips have a strange purple mauve tone to them, and this is a straight up light pink. Therefore, I’m not blaming the lipstick for this coverage issue I’m having. But I do have to use a Nyx Ever and Earthtone Slim Lip Pencils to line and fill in my lips first, and a coat of gloss does absolute wonders with this. I agree with MAC’s statement that these are made for the multi-step approach, if one wants to use them this way. Very gloss friendly!

There are a few colours here that are right up my street (going by the photos) – Mon Coeur and E for Effortless especially but one or two others. I’ll be curious to read about the texture because even though the blather talks about all day moisture, comfort and creaminess, the mere mention of this being the next step after MAC’s mattes makes me nervous!

Sam Avatar

Omg I’m surprised to see Rina Sawayama supporting this – I’ve been listening to her a lot lately but didn’t realize she was doing more visual stuff on insta too. Seeing this led me to look up a music video of hers, and I love the aesthetic of the makeup in it- when these come out I wanna figure out what color she’s wearing in the press photos.

Because I am a lip worrier, I doubt that this multiple step use will work for me. I don’t want to have to take the time to layer several products to get a specific look that wouldn’t last 5 minutes on me. Now, if they perform well with one swipe that I might entertain. Interested to see the shades in use and how they perform.

Francesca Avatar

As a lover of Mac lipsticks, I fell very exicited about any mac new lipsticks relases. However I am in love with matte and retromarce lipsticks, i like Also cream finishes that are pigmented and fully opaque in One lager (amplified and satin), while in this case the description and in the comments are maiking me suspect that these Will be quite sheer products. I’m waiting for the swatches!

Wednesday Avatar

Swatches first. I do not understand the implication the lipsticks require special or extra care in application or layering. So jury is definitely out until I see Temptalia feedback. Some of the names make me squirm. A good friend of mine is an oncologist and he deplores the glamorization of smoking. That’s an understatement. He gets positively starkers. Start watching how often this still takes place in your social media timelines. Coffee and cigs… stained smelly teeth and breath with the possibility of lung cancer. Gross. Watch me end up loving that particular shade. Grimace.

I like the promo photos with the saturated colour which look like vintage magazine ‘covers’. I adore the heart shaped sunnies. VVant!

Sue Avatar

Who is the audience for this release? I’m getting conflicting messages between the ad photos (retro) and the product names (teen cringe).

Coffee and Cigs, DGAF, Under the Covers, Daddy’s Girl? OK these names together are very evocative of a person who to me does NOT “embody the self-empowerment, joy, and zest for life.”

Why, MAC?

Susan Galliher Avatar

Do you have the ingredients of these yet???? Let me know as these sound super! I have allergies/sensitivities so have to be uber careful with lipsticks….. 🙂

Bonnie Avatar

I think I must be the only person here that likes, nay loves the name coffee & cigs. It reminds me of the carefree days of my young 20-something years before kids and responsibilities and the devil may care attitude I once had. I don’t think it’s all that horrible. I think UD naming shades glamorizing drug use is way way worse. At least coffee & cigs are legal vices, disgusting to some as they may be. And let’s be honest, the hardcore porn references in NARS cosmetics like Deep Throat gross me out more as well. Maybe that’s just me.

Kira Avatar

I like that they are indicating the color family on the outside! Like everyone else, I’d wait to hear from you about the texture before buying any. Beautiful photographs for this collection. It’s so funny how they list the follower count when explaining who the models are.

Phoebe Avatar

I’m really excited for these! Definitely getting a couple, probably Let Them Eat Cake and Pure Nonchalance but maybe more! The swatches I’ve seen so far look good but can’t be sure until I see Christines swatches here!
