MAC x Disney Aladdin Collection is a new, limited edition launch in collaboration with the new, live-action Aladdin movie. The collection launched online earlier this week and will be in stores today. There are four lipsticks, three lipglosses, two cheek powders, eyeshadow palette, loose pigment (repromote), and an eyeliner (repromote, not shown).  You can find the collection online at retailers this morning, too, like Nordstrom, Saks, and Ulta.

The eye palette looks quite concise and well edited, but we’ve seen the colours elsewhere. I think I’ll try to find some dupes of the more interesting colours. In the end, I think the only product I’ll be willing to get is Rajah or Princess Incognito. A Whole New World is a lovely colour and really brightens any look, but I’ve got many products that are similar.

I was also thinking on just trying Princess Incognito and Rajah in the store, they are the only products that I would purchase. 😀 Although I have something similar to Rajah and probably won’t actually buy; but Princess Incognito is a good replacement for a lipstick I’ll finish soon.
I only go with Pro Palette refills when it comes to face powders and eyeshadows, I don’t use lipgloss or pigments, so the collection doesn’t appeal to me for purchases, but I do like the vibe. From my point MAC did a good job with this collection, compared with other latest ones; but I have to see Christine’s review regarding quality and performance. ABU is beautiful, but I already have Star Violet. RiffRaff is a great staple for crease work, but using my contour powder would look the same.

I’m still not truly getting Aladdin vibes from the collection… but I didn’t watched the movie or plan to… I just think of the Disney classic movie. 😆

These swatches make me want the lipglasses. I’ve been wanting a sheer tinted gloss with glitters similar to my Mac Selena one. The eyeshadow swatches also make the palette look a X1000 nicer than the MAC promo pics. I like how the usual black eyeshadow in the palette is actually a deep purple instead. I probably won’t buy it, but it does look nice and usable.

Looks like a typical MAC release. From swatches it looks like some are good and others not so much. That is pare for the course with MAC. I appreciate that MAC/Disney made some attempt to actually have the packaging reflect the location of the movie. I think the packaging is really pretty and for that reason may pick up one or two things. Likely a lipstick and Lipglass. There are plenty of choices in my preferred colour palette to choose from and doubt any are unique or not duped in my collection but again, pretty packaging. Also, appreciate that Disney names their products so that I can say in public.

I’m disappointed that this collection seems targeted toward fair women, instead of a medium or tan range. An accurate Jasmine (like Jameela Jamil) would look like a ghost in Friend like Me! More colors like Rajah would have been lovely.

Can’t brown ladies have a collection tailored for us? Especially with our representative princess?

After seeing the swatches, I only like the Whole New World lipstick. I did like Friend Like Me asI thought it was more of a beige nude. This is definitely a pink nude! I also am no longer impressed with the eyeshadow palette. For the cost of the eyeshadow palette alone I picked up the ColourPop Birthday palette, one of the ultra matte lipsticks from their Birthday collection, another ultra matte not from the Birthday collection and one of their single pan pressed glitters. I also snagged a free Super Shock shadow that they were tossing in if you made it before they ran out.If these get reviewed, I’ll be curious as to how they perform under close scrutiny ?

I really hope they make the Agrabah shade permanent!! It’s gorgeous but it’s the only shade I really want the palette for and I feel silly spending $35 for the full palette just for one shade, especially since the pans are so small.
