Melt Cosmetics Smoke Session Eyeshadow Palette Makeup Look Ideas (x10)
Melt Cosmetics Smoke Session Eyeshadow Palette returns on April 20th at midnight PST, so in honor of it’s restock, here are a few ways you might consider wearing the palette! It is the type of palette that will be more versatile as a complement to other palettes, as it has much warmer and cooler tones and only two mattes (which are quite deep).
About This Series
Each look idea is centered around a “quad” of four shades with the expectation that one might bring in the appropriate brow bone or additional transitional shade based on skin tone. I know that I tend to use more like five or six shades in a typical look, but I think that four is a happy medium to give a good idea of the “core” color scheme of a look while giving you the ability to lighten/darken as desired. I have listed the colors in this order: inner lid, middle of lid, outer lid/crease, and crease/above crease.
You might see combinations that seem slightly repeated but placement will vary (e.g. a halo placement where the lightest and more shimmery shade is placed on the center) as placement can also create a different effect/look! You might also want to consider incorporating your favorite matte/shimmer shades (as applicable) to increase the versatility of certain palettes. Consider these ideas a jumping off point!

Thank you so much for these ideas because I have a feeling that this will probably be my palette purchase for the year. I just love these shades and will find your combinations useful.
Hopefully when it is re-released it won’t have the problems that the first batch had.
You would think they would set the restock release date for 4/20! LOL!
Seriously though, love the looks you did Christine! I’m not one for green shadow, it just doesn’t look great on me, but I am green with envy for those who can pull it off!
So confused — the release date is 4/20!
I do really like this palette — the two matte colors are brilliant “anchor” shades IMO. This might be putting a crack in my current makeup apathy.
I missed it during the holidays, but managed to snag one before it sold out today. I can’t wait to get my hands on Sour Diesel as it’s a shade that doesn’t have a dupe in my collection – which is crazy considering its size. Mean Green and Black Widow are next up as my favorites. I haven’t been this excited for a palette in a long time and I sure hope the quality is there.
I was rather disappointed with the Shape Shift stack. The purpley one swatched nicely, but refuses to apply, let alone build, to my eye. All of my other Melt shadows perform great – *especially the shimmers/metallics* – but I can’t believe I paid full stack money for three decent shadows, one of which has many dupes, one that’s just a basic cranberry/purple shade, and a beautiful green that also didn’t apply super great….. *meh*
I told myself I didn’t need this. I even purchased it and immediately canceled my order on the first launch date. But who stayed up until 2am to purchase it? Me, lol. Hopefully, they fixed the crumbling issues people had. Although, I doubt it since both of my Gemini & Twenty Seven palettes have pressing issues (nothing has broken thankfully). But hey, at least I got a free lighter with it. My candles will be happy.
