Since I am unable to use his goat hair brushes, I’m extremely keen on seeing how his synthetic brushes work out! This could *finally* be it for those of us who have various animal hair/fur issues, be it allergies like myself or personal ethics.
Though I wasn’t immediately drawn to the collection, mostly due to the similarity of brush shapes for 3 of the brushes compared to his natural hair range, I’m curious to see these brushes in action. Tom Ford and MAC synthetic brushes have been getting poor reviews, so am interested to see how Wayne’s synthetic brushes perform.
These look good as far as shapes go, but $140 for four synthetic brushes is a bit steep.
Totally agree.
My skin is pretty sensitive to animal hair brushes so I always prefer to go with synthetics. I’m really interested in these but am trying to hold on until reviews come out. Hopefully they perform well!
I got mine today. These are, hands down, the softest synthetic brushes I’ve ever met. If your favorite synthetic brush is a comfy flannel sheet, these are a Minke blanket.
Most acrylic brushes stimulate my oil production (something about being just poke-y enough?), but these don’t.
The shadow brush resembles Wayne’s natural #18, but is denser. The pencil brush is about 3/4 the length of his #20 and is, again, denser.
laurie how do you like the 2 face brushes? specifically the 245?
I like both.
I’m impressed with how versatile the 25S is. It’s pointy enough to get into tight spots (but soft enough to Never feel poke-y prickly) and spreads enough when pressed to get a nice wash of color.
I’ve used the 24S in both directions – edgewise with a highlighter and flat on for contour/blush.
I will Stay with those squirrel brushes.
I’ve been using mostly synthetic brushes nowadays, except for applying setting and finishing powders. I prefer how easy synthetic brushes clean and not having to fuss around with the fancier squirrel brushes and whatnot. For me personally, it also seems the squirrel brushes hold glitters more too, which makes them even hardy to clean.
Finally! I’ve always wanted to purchase a Wayne Goss brush, but I will not buy animal hair brushes (or lashes).
