We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when
a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set
expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up
being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Thank you for understanding!
Sigh. These palettes all really appeal to me. Especially Bailout and Shortcut. I’ve wanted that AfterHours colour in the Troublemaker palette but the rest of colours just didn’t appeal. These combos make me sigh heavily. I want them all, but collectively they’ll cost more than the Born to Run palette.

“Drift” from Born To Run is a spot-on dupe for “Afterhours” from Troublemaker, if that makes it easier to decide.
I already have Plunge and 16th Street from the Beached palette and I’m sure I’ve got dupes for the other shades I like except maybe Switchback. The Shortcut palette – a bit too red toned, though I love the look of After Hours. I really like that these have been well thought out to work for travel or simply to work on their own (no need to bring in other palettes to do a simple look). But I’ve purchased 2 of the newer releases of the Smashbox 8 pan little palettes and I think they more than cover the bases touched on in these minis and I was able to get them at Shoppers (so 20% off any Thursday).

If you have Born To Run, “Drift” is a spot-on dupe for “Afterhours”.
Thanks for this – it’s good to know; in the photo it looks a bit more purple-y but photos can be deceiving. I do have Born to Run and I really like it (in spite of 2 shades I’ll never wear).

I’m presuming the “Afterhours” from Troublemaker is the same as the one here. I bought Troublemaker (fortunately, on sale, plus Sephora 20%) just for that shade, and Born To Run primarily for “Drift”. I was playing with my palettes one day, and realized they were identical, at least under my florescent lighting. Actually applied, they read as the same shade, as well.
but, in all honesty, don’t you find that with most eyeshadows? I can get absolutely obsessed with the minor difference between Urban Decay Thunderbird and MUFE Graphite Brown or MAC Sea Worship and Bare Minerals Flicker to the point where I *HAVE* to own them both but in reality, once applied, they really don’t look all that different. This is why beauty blogs and youtube videos have been such a force for me over-buying!
I like Shortcut the best, but I already have enough similar shades, so I’m going to save my money.

These are good choices for the way many do e/s now: basically neutral, with a pop of color. The neutrals coordinate well with the pops. Those who feel overwhelmed with a big BTR, or won’t use certain shades, can get a workable selection for their taste/preference. Good concept. Swatches pretty nicely, overall. UD would do well to make these perm, as they could become go-tos for many users.
I know people get tired of these UD releases, but i think these palettes are great! Bailout is my favorite. I have the full Born To Run palette and love it. It is too large to just through in a makeup bag though. I also love the UD formula…So bendable and long wearing on my super oily skin. I think this release is perfect, at a great price!

May I ask what is the lip and cheek color you are wearing? You look so glowy!
Because I would actually use it to death, plus it looks like a good travel palette, Shortcut. Although I do wish that the 2 purple shades from Bailout were in here instead of Back Alley and Sin.

I’ve been using Shortcut for a few days and I love it! Expectations exceeded! It looks great with my green eyes.
I already had a few shades as single shadows (Sin, my absolute favorite base shade) and it’s wonderful to have all this in a small, but cohesive and versatile palette.
Very, very pretty. And I love your eye look Christine.

I love this concept — tight concepts, sized well for travel. Of these Shortcut appeals to me the most. I haven’t tried any of the pink palettes this season so far, this might be good one to try out.
Light Tan, Yellow, moderately yellow undertones. Very Oily skin. »View CK Full Profile
Shortcut is the only one that really appeals to me. The rest is rather boring, to be honest. But hey, if you’re restocking your neutrals, it could be a good option.

I’m really close to “Diamond” at ULTA, plus I have a 20% off coupon, so I just may have to pick these up… If I decide I don’t need them, I could always just give them to my daughter…
Some really solid small-format palette choices here (not for someone like me who already owns every color under the sun, but in general). If I didn’t have a stash the size of Rhode Island, I’d probably get Detour, and I’d love it to death.
Gotta say … really liking the packaging. I’ve done so much complaining this year about super-colorful packaging competing with eyeshadows and making palettes tough to “read”; here UD managed to keep the interest, but went shades of grey around the actual pans. Kind of brilliant.

I love these! Not crazy about the cardboard packaging though. I will definitely be getting Detour at least!
