I love doing a modern 90s look for a night out. Smoky eyes and bold lips. Sometimes I’ll try on three or four different red lipsticks to find the perfect shade for the look.
Subtle layering of products with different finishes to emphasize dimension. I’ve developed a much softer hand courtesy of practice and good brushes and I love to layer products to achieve dimension without it looking heavy handed. I’ve had a few eureka moments this year.
I love applying purposely heavy, draped blush. I like doing the same thing with highlighter, too. A blown-out, colorful, smokey eye is another fav or mine. Basically, anything that’s just a little over the top, but done in a modern way.
They fall into 2 categories.
1.) The go-to looks that I have mastered and can practically do with my eyes closed! Not necessarily basic skill level type stuff, just that they come together perfectly.
2.) When I full-out challenge myself to try something totally different in either color scheme or placement of shades, perhaps even copying a look that someone else has done that has inspired me to give it a go! (my 2nd attempt at the teal and coppery look that CP Salvaje palette look turned out perfectly! Which made me so happy!)
I love doing shimmery gradient eye looks: sunset colors, warm-to-cool fades, and halos. I always swoon over duochrome swatches, but I live in a cloudy place that rarely shows them off at their best, so I’ll try to recreate some of my favorites with multiple shadows.
My other favorite is a really vampy red lip with a taupe smoky eye.
1. Colorful looks. I love shimmers, duochromes, and glitters, too.
2. Colored (green, purple, red) smokey eyes.
3. Classic pin-up look with winged liner and red or coral lips.
4. Monochrome looks

WOW, we have been getting some great questions lately!! I am going to try and answer with just one answer which is difficult for me and frankly, I could name like 6 looks. I think my absolute favorite is a cool toned, matte, one shade e/s look with a shimmery cheek and a bold lip. I like to pick a cool toned shade and then layer the crease to make it seem deeper than the same shade in the transition and on the lid. Sometimes I will add a little shimmer just in the spotlight placement.
I love using metallic eyeshadows, with a matte or a shimmer to really zoom up the emphasis in my eyes or I love a smokey number.
As always, I really prefer vibrant, bold lipstick shades.
