We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! These are pretty! That being said, I wish you could buy them separately. There are a couple of colors I wouldn’t mind having individually but only wanting 1 of 4 or 2 of 4 isn’t worth it to buy all four.

Sara Avatar

I want to third this! I’ve got a crush on you, prettified, and rose light are all so pretty, but none of the kits as whole do it for, I suppose fortunately for my bank account.

Carrie Avatar

Exactly. I want the white from the cool toned set and the pinks from the sweetly smoky set. Maybe I’ll check out some of the regular pigments instead

I only wanted the purple one at first, but they’re all really pretty! That said, I think of the shades I *really* want, I either have exact dupes, or *very* similar, either in pigment or pressed form. I just love the versitility of loose pigments. I’ll probably pass though, as nothing makes me want to go through the trouble of tracing it down…

a lot of these seem like repeats, i already own identical colors from macs previous collections like surf baby and another one i forgot last holiday i think it came in a sphere ornament…only the first set with the mac club eyeshadow dupe and the dark teal seem new…which aren’t that unique to begin with loreal has a teal infallible pressed pigment like that im gonna pass on these

Carrie Avatar

I don’t think they’re dupes, but at the same point I think that some of them are so close that most people can get away with only owning one or the other because the difference is so subtle it’d even be hard to see on the eye.

Veronica Avatar

Spruced and Dusty Desire look gorgeous! I’ve Got a Crush on You is quite beautiful, too, but it may be a dupe for UD Lounge from the look of it. (More vibrant, maybe?)

Out of these sets, Brilliantly Cool is the swet I’m thinking I might go for, so I’ll be interested to see your review!

Wow – I’ve Got a Crush on You looks like “Crush”ed up Club eyeshadow (or Label Whore from TF). And while a few of these look like they might be dupes for Jardin Aires, why oh why won’t they just repromote Jardin Aires….pretty please, MAC people…

kelly belly Avatar

it is very close indeed! also similar to mac club, twofaced petal to the metal and urban decay lounge, not to mention LORAC 3Delicious.
Yes, my name is Pinky, and I am an eye shadow addict

blarg! zero interest in any of these. Some of these look like glitter with just a dash of pigment thrown in. I could get better products (L’Oreal Infallibles) at the drugstore. I wish Mac would bring back the pigments vials, again.

Helena Avatar

What’s the point of I’ve Got a Crush on You when Blue Brown (and even Green Brown) pigment and Club eyeshadow exist? Plus all the other dupes by different brands….
Spruced is pretty, but I was hoping it would be a less-disappointing version of Blue Spruce eyeshadow. :p

Quite a few look pretty but I had bought one set last year in the summer time and I just couldn’t get it to work. It creased, and was terrible to apply. They looked beautiful in their little jars and swatched on your arms, but I just couln’t get a nice look out of them. Looked terrible. How do/would you wear them Christine? Or anyone for that matter…

I’m in love with Spruced from the Brilliantly Cool set, its absolutely gorgeous. I also wanted to point out that although they look like repeats from previous collections they really aren’t. My sister is a sucker for Macs crushed pigments and collects them all, when we were swatching the Vera 2012 Spring collection I said some of these look identical to some of your other ones you have and she was like “no they’re not” when we compared them all together in swatches they are completely different but look a bit similar in the jar . Just thought I’d share that with you all 🙂 for those of you who are skeptical about them being dupes of previous ones. These pigments are hard to work with I usually apply them wet with my mac fix + and sometimes over eyeshadow I have already applied just to give it a sparklier look but wet in order for it to stick and show, just remember not to wet your brush too much or else the pigments get clumpy and sometimes applying them with your finger helps too. Can’t wait to go swatch this collection!

Do you have any suggestions on how to press these into a pan? I usually just use alcohol when I press mac pigments, but someone told me earlier that I should use a mixing medium when I’m dealing with the glittery pigments. I’ve never tried pressing glittery pigments, and I’m not sure if these colors would fall into that category. What would you suggest?
