I understand worth of a product is subjective, but with all the hype, are Dyson products really worth their price tags? Do they make life genuinely better, or it is just that everyone is running after the newest trend. I donβt want to invest to be disappointed and I donβt want to return because I feel itβs a toll on the environment. I canβt decide ……
There’s no way anyone can tell you if a $500+ purchase is going to be worth it for you – because that’s going to be dependent on your budget, your usage (would it be a tool you’d use daily or a few times a month), are you unhappy with the tools you already use (how unhappy? what is missing? what is Dyson’s tool solving for you?), whether $500 is a big chunk of your budget or not, etc. etc. I would look at what you are hoping it will do for you and zero in how that aspect seems to be met by others AND compare it to what you have and why you are so unhappy that you’re considering spending $500 to replace that!
Dyson products are really worth the tag (aka their good quality and last a long time) if you really have the need, from my point of view.
And I’m not talking about hair tools only. If you have a pet shedding like crazy and thick carpets, the Dyson vacuum cleaner is a life saver; otherwise, a regular vacuum cleaner would be enough. Yes, I could clean decently with a $40-$50 vacuum cleaner purchased randomly from Amazon, but the Dyson Animal does a fast job of picking up from my carpets the hair (my cat and mine π ).
Hair-dryers… I simply don’t care, I have thin hair, it almost air-dries fast; I barely use the hair dryer for 2-3 minutes (if I use it). I just keep a travel sized hair dryer in the house for emergencies, but there were periods in my life I didn’t even own a hair dryer. So a Dyson isn’t worth while for me.
But if you have thick hair and it takes 20-30 minutes to blow dry each wash, Dyson can be a `life saver`.
My salon bought the dryers but my stylist has stopped using it. I think that when you use them constantly, the weight is too much. I have short hair so never contemplated it but I have the vacuum and I love it, and. it just for the cat hair.
Ditto on both. I replaced my handheld that I broke with the V6 top dog. All the old tools still fit, free new tools, and I barely need to use the Dyson upright. totally worth it. Hair? Like yours; who needs massive drying power? Dyson is one of my fantasy boyfriends. An art student who engineers, billionaire, and heavy philanthropist. What’s not to like, from where I sit?
IME the power of the Dyson hair dryer is equal to your average pet grooming dryer, just without the hose. I don’t think too many people would benefit from it unless they have hugely long dry times (possibly some natural 4b/c types?). But I’ve been wondering about it for my cats for ages lmao.
Not a hair tool comment but the Dyson per vacuum was the subject of a fight during a bad breakup! Non dog loving Ex insisted he bought it for me (I was happy with my $40 Bissell) and hated using it. Iβm small and petite and found the Dyson heavy and awkward to manuever so I never used it.
My 2 Dyson vacuums have lasted for over 10 years. One is starting to act up though. Have to use a straightening comb on my hair dryer. Straightens my hair so I don’t need to flat iron it. And they don’t fit on Dyson’s hair dryers so that’s a splurge I can skip.
Being able to use the code online multiple times makes so much more sense than what they did before. I save up for beauty products by buying gift certificates when Iβve got a little extra money which means I end up with multiple gift certificates. Since you can only use two gift certificates for each online transaction I had to call to place an order since most of the things that I wanted to buy wouldnβt be available in-store. I will say that the lady who helped me place my order was very patient and kind!
I just got my VIB Rouge cards in the mail today! I can’t wait!
I assume from the dates that VIBs would get the sale on 11/2 through 11/5, or starting around that.
Unfortunately it’s a little late for me, I was planning a trip back in Europe mid-late November, so I won’t be able to use the sale for presents. π I was looking into getting for my mother, brother’s girlfriend and female friends some US only exclusives… and getting the Bum-Bum set to split into multiple presents…
Well… it will be just stocking for the Shiseido cotton pads and some brow products…
The 11/9 to 11/12 for VIBs means I’ll need to get to the store that weekend… which I hate. But I need to buy presents for my travel back home… my mom always asks for the Marc Jacobs eyeliner and I want to purchase the Sol de Janeiro kits to split them out between multiple friends and family. π
If the new PMG and Viseart palettes are there by then, I definitely will take advantage of it. Otherwise I will be waiting for the dollar off one that comes in November. I wonβt be Rouge in 2019.
I didn’t think I would be rouge again in 2019, based on my spending so far this year. Then the Rouge sale hit. Now I’m reasonably close. Bad, Emily!
Welcome to the club π
I’m hoping I can snag the PML Mothership V on the Rouge sale. My husband said he’d buy it for me for Christmas, so this would be a great deal if it doesn’t sell out from under my nose.
Running low on squalane oil — this might be the moment.
My skin has been particularly dry lately, so I’ll be splurging on some Laneige lip and eye masks for the sale π
Trying to resist Pat McGrath, but I’m not sure how successful I’ll be there. Lately I’ve been using the La Vie en Rose Palette as colorful eyeliners – so amazing to be able to do this with eyeshadow and have it last all day. The color addict in me really wants to try this with her other colorful shadows. I hope you get a chance to do swatches of the Opulence collection.
make sure you check out the lip set with a full size and three minis! I’m eyeing it but still have enough to tide me over….
And Sephora does it again… only 2 samples with purchase during the sale (and probably after as well)… as if the 3 samples which I almost never get what I choose for were a huge perk…
Can VIB Rouges use the VIB coupon code 11/9 to 11/12? I donβt get paid until then haha !
That hasn’t been the case in the past
I’m actually curious if VIBs can use the code during the BIs timeframe (11/16 through 11/19)… if I order on 11/19 I might have a chance that the packages won’t be delivered before I return to the US. Surprisingly, in the last two sales I got my packages delivered quite fast; I’m was not expecting 2-day delivery during sales. π
