Do you enjoy when brands share sneak peeks of upcoming products?

Yes, definitely! I don’t want to hear/see much about it really far in advance (like months), but I enjoy seeing brands tease about upcoming releases a few weeks prior to them launching.

Please help us streamline the comments' section and be more efficient: double-check the post above for more basic information like pricing, availability, and so on to make sure your question wasn't answered already. Comments alerting us to typos or small errors in the post are appreciated (!) but will typically be removed after errors are fixed (unless a response is needed).

We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Thank you for understanding!

Sometimes. Not when they show a black & white photo of a colorful palette (Huda) or when they tease something so far in advance (Lorac) that by the time it comes out my interest is long gone.

It usually doesn’t matter to me one way or the other. I like to see more detailed (and honest) photos, like the ones here, and also reviews that are of the honest rather than gushing kind. Often, by the time a product actually gets to the stage where I can see it here at Temptalia or in a store near me, I’ve kinda forgotten all about it and have moved on to the next new thing (that I’ve been able to preview in a more meaningful way).

Yeah, I like it. Helps me budget my purchases if I know I want to buy something that’s coming out in the near future.

Also, it’s nice for holiday shopping, since I like to see if there’s anything interesting for a gift. I just like to plan out my gifts for other people veryyy well in advance lol.

I love sneak peeks so long as they’re not too far in advance. A few weeks is more than enough time to zero in on trends and get excited—or not! LOL. When a sneak peek is too far in advance, I become bored and disinterested.

I too, like a sneak peak, not too far in advance. I lose interest as well, and move on to something else. There are so many other things to occupy my attention, with multiple launches going on at the same time who can remember what I saw last week lol!

I agree with all the comments so far! I like to get an idea of what’s coming so I can be prepared or save up (or ask for as a gift if it’s near a bday, anniversary or holiday). I don’t need more than a couple week’s notice at most, and I don’t care for black and white teaser photos! Outside packaging is cute, and I appreciate the effort, but I want to see the actual product. Christine your swatches and dupe comparisons, and especially your reviews, are so helpful to me when I’m trying to decide on buying a product, you’re such a gem!

Sometimes. I want to be able to see what the product actually looks like, not just the box, and not in black & white. And I hate gifs that show palettes opening and closing-I don’t know why that annoys me but it does. I want to see the makeup. And I don’t want to know too far in advance bc then sometimes I’m just dying for it, lol (Too Faced).

Not the bs black-and-white Instagram “sneak peeks” — those are just dumb. But otherwise, sure. Also, not if they don’t end up actually creating the product (there was a dragon-themed lipstick a company showed a sneak peek of years ago that I was super pumped about and it just … never happened; very annnoying). TBH, I don’t see many sneak peeks as I tend not to hang out in places where I’d run across those, so it’s not something I think about much.
