Urban Decay Elements Eyeshadow Palette Swatches
Urban Decay Elements Eyeshadow Palette ($52.00 for 0.53 oz.) is a new, limited edition palette for the holiday season (yes, holiday is here!). There are 19 shades–three mattes, 16 shimmers–housed in a circular compact. The palette is available now at QVC and will be available on 9/10 at urbandecay.com. Fortune Teller looks exactly like Urban Decay Solstice from the Moondust collection. What do you think?
I just happened to have worn Solcstice the other day (yesterday maybe…?) and it definitely has a lot more green in the color shift.
Its close, but Solstice has glitter in it and I would say sheer in formula.
This looks like a great Holiday palette – the kind of thing I would have been all over a few years ago before I’d amassed a decent number of colourful shadows. I wish the packaging was more compact and travel friendly though.
Pigmentation looks great!! But the only shade calling my name is Secret Keeper. The packaging is cute even if UD has done these shades before.
Actually … seems like a nice palette. A couple swatches look problematic on the arm, but they might work better on the eyes. I don’t need this, as between three other palettes and indie singles I have all these colors (or similar enough). Still, nice “try something daring” palette for someone with a much smaller stash.
I didn’t realize from the first post how blinding the packaging is on the inside. I know it’s not actually foiled, but it still makes my eyes water a bit looking at it. Is it just me, or does anyone else feel like they have trouble judging the color of an eyeshadow against such a strongly-colored and patterned backdrop?
Not just your eyes, Alecto. This background is highly distracting and does make my eyes confused as to what they’re seeing!
Some of these colors look really nice! Seems like a pretty solid palette and if I didn’t probably have dupes for everything in it, I’d be tempted. It’s good to see a quality, colorful palette on the market for anyone who doesn’t already have one or needs to replace stuff they’ve hit pan on 🙂
After seeing these swatches, I’m more excited about this palette. I’m crossing my fingers that it doesn’t contain ingredients I’m allergic to, because this is the only palette I’ve seen in a long time that would really add something special to my collection.
I could have been sold on this if the swatches were better but looks like it’s going to be a pass for me
Was hoping for a tinge more originality. This is very much a UD palette a la many of the Vice ones. I really wish they’d innovate more again. Where’s that Electric, Smoked, etc spirit?
Agreed – I feel like this is almost the same as the Moondust Palette

Sapphire Dreams is the only shade I’m interested in. It looks beautiful, deep and sparkly. I kinda wish I got that one UD palette with a similar shade (and overall better pigmentation throughout.)
I think this is the nicest holiday eyeshadow palette that UD has put out since the infamous, yet gorgeous Urban Spectrum palette from 3 or 4 years ago! Also, the most cohesive and attractive palette that I’ve seen any brand do for Holiday 2018, so far! My only qualm is the packaging. Beautiful, yes. But also very awkward to store and that interior design is super distracting for my eyeballs ?!

I completely agree about the cumbersome packaging. This reminded me of a circular Stila holiday eyeshadow palette release from several years ago. It was a nightmare to store and even worse to travel with.
Really, really pretty, but nothing beats the Spectrum palette for me.
Nice looking swatches of colors UD has been putting out for years. Might be a nice gift for someone who doesn’t already have many of their other shadows.
This feels like such a letdown from last year’s Heavy Metals palette. Say what you will about the packaging (I find this worse, to be honest), but it was beautiful, cohesive, performed extremely well and there was no mistaking the intent — one formula across the board. Three mattes? Why even bother including them. I’m saying no to this release.

Love the look of these colours – just wish we could purchase Urban Decay in Australia. QVC, Urban Decay etc. do not ship to Australia.
Nope. The packaging and design is terrible. So non-functional. Depanning doesn’t work for me. Plus the fact now…..shadow ingredients are not made in the USA. Besides, I own too many shadows.
Sapphire Dream and Hex Remedy look a lot like TRM and Dye from the UDxKL Kaleidoscope Dream collab. They’re beautiful, and I think I’d probably still like to buy this, but UD recycles a lot of shadows.
Even though Silver Burn and Electric Air look a tad disappointing, I’m thinking this is another of my holiday palettes. Yup! Your eye looks, just add the frosting to the cake!
