NARS Hammamet Duo Eyeshadow Review & Swatches
Hammamet
NARS Hammamet Duo Eyeshadow (2018) ($35.00 for 0.08 oz.) includes a medium, matte peach and a medium, copper-brown. Both shades had good pigmentation, lasted for seven to eight hours, and were fairly blendable and easy to work with, though the shimmery shade was the better performing between the two colors.

Hammamet I
Hammamet I is a medium peach with warm, orange undertones and a matte finish. The color coverage was nearly opaque in a single layer, though the texture was slightly dusty and resulted in slightly sheerer coverage in practice unless applied over an eyeshadow base. It wore well for seven and a half hours on me before fading noticeably.

Formula Overview
$19.00/0.04 oz. - $475.00 Per Ounce
The formula is supposed to have "rich, high-impact color" that is "lightweight" and has "increased blendability." Like most larger ranges, there are winners and losers, and some of how they perform can be related to the type of finish. The mattes are soft, slightly dusty in the pans (or not at all) with medium to opaque, often buildable, color coverage. The satin and metallics tend to be smoother, more blendable, and more pigmented with less effort; NARS does the these lower shimmer finishes particularly well, which just looks "melted" on the skin as they lay down so smoothly and have a great shine.
Most shades applied better on my lid than swatched on my arm, which has been something seen across NARS' eyeshadows for years and didn't change with the recent update to their powder eyeshadow formula. On average, they lasted between seven and nine hours on me without primer. They did apply well over primer and stayed on well for 14 hours with minimal fading.
Worth noting: the updated formula and packaging resulted in a product decrease from 0.07 oz. per pan to 0.04 oz. The single eyeshadows received a more noticeable price drop (from $24 to $19) but the duo eyeshadows could be priced better (from $36 to $35).

Hammamet II
Hammamet II is a light-medium copper with warm, brown undertones and a metallic sheen. It was richly pigmented and had a smooth, blendable texture that adhered evenly to bare skin and looked “melted” after a few minutes past the initial application, so it was very smoothing and shiny on my lid. The eyeshadow lasted nicely for eight hours on me before I noticed any fading.

Excellent — this is the one I had my eye on. I’m glad it reviewed so well. It’s ‘go’ time
A beautiful combination, but is it just me Christine who thinks that Nars has released similar shade duos? The last one I remember was a week or so ago and it didn’t perform very well at all.
This is a beauty and your eye look is gorgeous.
Hi! Is this/will this be available at Ulta or Sephora? I am not seeing this shade online. Thank you!
It’s available on NARS’ website. They didn’t provide additional detail on what would be offered at retailers!
Hi Christine! Thank you for the review. I had the old hammamet that’s released in 2016 as limited edition, but have unfortunately lost mine. Do you mind comparing this to the old one?
They are very similar!
