What new product are you loving right now? How are you using it?
I really love the Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filters! I’ve been trying to wear them whenever I’m not testing foundation. I use them mixed with foundation or applied shortly after liquid foundation for a dewier finish.
Two fuchsia lipsticks I got recently – one from Clarins and the other from Givenchy. I’ve realized that this shade is perfect for me for warmer months. It’s brighter and fresher looking than my general “go to” shades (MAC Craving and Plumful are 2 examples of year-round Holy Grail colours and I love some reds as well). This venture into this brighter shade has been really enjoyable. Also, I ordered Sephora Fairytale liner when I saw it was being d/c’d; I have other teal and brighter green shades from this line but it’s nice having this fresh and bright teal/green for this time of year. I tend to stick to shades like MJ Brownout but I’m enjoying using this bright under my lower lashes.
Viseart Tryst palette — I’m still loving the colors, and it’s very versatile and good quality.
Technically, it might be only “new-ish”, having been released this spring, but I haven’t purchased anything since that I really love and I still really enjoy this palette for the season.
I have been reaching for Tryst more and more since purchasing it in the spring.
The ABH Norvina palette. I’ve putting a few mattes through the crease and a metallic /shimmer on the crease. Been loving incense , love and eccentric for mattes and rose gold, celestial and dazzling for metallics.
Been loving my Natasha Denona Mini Lila palette. This is my first time experiencing her shadow, but so far so good.
Because I have round, somewhat aging eyes I tend to use colour on my lash line (subtle for work too) to create a soft wing shape. I tightline with cake liner, use Poison Berry as my transition liner (perhaps I’ve created a thing here with transition liner) and then use Blue Dahlia closest to the lashline. Then I either use Linen or ABH Sunset on the inner corner.
I wish all palettes were this small for this price with still having an edge to them. For my needs this is an everyday palette.
All of my new NARS lipsticks! I have both the Wanted Velvet Lip Glide Set and Undressed II Lip Set. Nothing interesting about how I use them. Just one at a time.
I purchased the Becca Under Eye Brightening Primer and so far I am really loving it. I have always had rather dry under eye area which isn’t surprising as I have dry skin in general. This primer seems to smooth the skin under my eyes just a little and every little bit helps when you have “mature” skin. It also helps with my fine lines and wrinkles. Nothing helps the deep canyon wrinkles but I am loving this. I use it just before concealer.
I also picked up the Catrice Glowing Skin Primer/Setting Mist after seeing Thataylla use it on YT. I had to order on-line as none of the Ulta’s within a 300 mile radius had it in stock. They told me it is very popular and I like a glowy look so this is perfect. It has some shimmer to it but it isn’t over the top and comes off on the skin like just a healthy glow. The smell is okay and not overly strong to my senses. The spray could be just a little finer but it doesn’t spew huge droplets at my face.
How do I choose a color for the Hollywood Flawless Filters? I would like to mix it with my foundation for a glow but don’t want to change the color of my foundation. I use more than one foundation but for reference, I’m a NW18 in Mac. Thanks!
Maybe not related but my tweezerman eyelash curler. I think it curves better than either of my shu uemura or Shiseido curlers. It really comes down to eye shapes and trial and errors. I’m glad that I’ve found the one.
Physicians Formula Eye Booster 2-in-1 Lash Boosting Eyeliner + Serum. It’s been too hot here to wear much in the way of eye makeup. I’ve been sticking with a sparkly nude over the entire eye, and winged liner using this eyeliner pen. It has a very fine tip, so making wings is easy.
Via You Tube I found a medium to full coverage somewhat matte cushion foundation from an Australian company called Mirenesse. It has been holding up really well during our current highly humid heat wave. I do feel a bit silly ordering makeup from the other side of the world.
I bought these in May or June so maybe they no longer count as new but I have set aside all my warm neutral palettes in favor of two Nyx Prismatic Shadows in Mermaid and Jaded used on my mobile lid. I use something brown in the crease as usual.
Nordstrom Rack sells Mirenesse online. I’m not sure if they have the product you are using, but you may want to take a look to see if they do and if it’s cheaper than ordering from Australia.
Thank you for that. I only ever buy clothes from The Rack online.
They had the foundation! Not that I need more stuff. Thanks again.
Kiko Milano Freedom eye palettes and Gold Wave blushes—so buttery and pretty!!
Oh my, too many at this time! To start, Ofra Glazed Donut highlighter, used lightly, gives my cheekbones an other high points a very realistic dewy glow. Strange, considering it looks too white in the pan! MAC Li Li’s Motor City Lipglass is a fabulous transformer. It can mute OR brighten lipsticks used underneath it!
Then there’s a few truly wonderful eyeshadow palettes I’ve bought in recent months that have me swooning: UD Born To Run and Beached, and definitely Dominique Lemonade Palette, which brings out all the shades in my irises, yet doesn’t wash them out.
I’m loving the new Laura Mercier Glow powder. It showed up at my sephora a few days early and I’ve been using it every since. It makes an excellent buffing powder. Gives me a nice glow without looking oily. I have combo skin.
I’ve just got my first Urban Decay palette, Born to Run so am experimenting with the colours. So far, it’s excellent, though I’m not sur pink shadow is suitable for me, last wore it in the 80s!
I love lots of my products at the moment:
EA lipstick in Cocoa Bronze, Cayene Pearl and Flame
Maybelline’s Burgundy Bar
Lorac’s Pro Metal
bareMinerals The Playlist.
I’m loving the Tarte Park Ave Princess contour palette. I got it on 1/2 price at Sephora two weeks ago and got it just in time for a business trip I took this week.
Also the Marc Jacobs new Sugar Sugar Enamoured Hydratibg Gloss Stick.
Nothing very exiting, the matte lipsticks from Charlotte Tilbury. I like the formula so much, I don’t find them drying at all, and they last a long time. I have five of them so far, and will probably get more. I also love the MatteTrance lipsticks from Pat McGrath and use the few I have a lot.
I’m not sure if it technically qualifies as “new,” since I got it about two months ago, but it’s a skincare item so it has taken me a while to decide if I’m impressed and it’s worth repurchasing: Drunk Elephant Protini Polypeptide Cream. It really does seem to make a difference if I layer it on after my usual night routine. Honestly, my skin seems softer, with fewer texture or sensitivity “incidents.” I can’t think of anything else I’ve changed in the last couple months. I feel pretty satisfied with the conclusion that it must be the DE product, and yes, I’m loving it.
Well. As I said many times here, I’m pretty much happy with almost everything that I have at this point 🙂
That said, I’m really loving my Funfetti Cake Oh Sweetie Lipcolour by MAC at the moment. It gets my creating juices flowing exploring what it can do to the 20+ lipsticks I have with it 🙂 I also reeeally love the formula! I would go as far as saying that I wish they made these permanent at some point.
